  1. While we are hyping around, killing time, has anyone noticed how Scott Manley looks suspiciously like one of the band members of Aqua (90's pop band)? Take a good look at Ken in this video... His video introductions do say DJ...
  2. Isn't it a little too early to be getting this hyped? We still probably have another week of experimentals... Its just I don't want to overhype before hyping up for the big hype, otherwise I won't be hyped enough when the time comes to be hyped the most ;P
  3. Horses for courses. If someone is discouraged after a single failure, than KSP is probably not the game for him. Just like you will never see me playing a first person shooter, but I am quite happy playing a game looking like an excel sheet. People have different tastes. Games do not need to appeal to absolutely everyone, or else...
  4. Oh, look! A MJ thread! *sits next to Jhadden123 and puts on 3D glasses*
  5. Yes, but my god look at the lift!!
  6. For a long time I didn't use LV-N, precisely because I thought it cheating. But I think they are viable engine, especially in career, since they require quite a investment in research. I still observe some self imposed rules, like never using them inside the atmosphere, and not leaving them as a space debris in free orbit. They have uses, balanced out by bulky size, high costs and they are quite heavy. Edit: Also, radiation fallout is not such a big issue as people might think. .

  8. Fair points. In that case you could argue to install the random break downs mod as well. You would have to pack all the spare toolkits as well, and since the journey time is massive, you would have lots of break downs and repair stops....

    Which one?

Something other. Most of the mods listed are too large to be added officially, and the devs stated that they do not want to give the player info stats like the KER. It will probably be something like the Achievements, or Final Frontier.
  10. I was just thinking about this. However you need to take into account that the air all around kerbin is breathable, presumably there is drinking water all around, and you could forage/harvest food from the environment... and electricity is not vital for survival, since your life is not dependent on complicated machinery...
  11. Wow, first time I see this, its the final episode. Must lurk the forums better next time. I did once entertained the idea of roving around the Kerbin, but I never really got around to do anything about it. I was planning to make a camper van for Jeb, and name the quest Jeb's holiday. I only ever got as far as building the vehicle though... This quest shows incredible dedication your part, Congrats. Forget one cookie, take the entire jar.
  12. PC gamer made and article about KSP in their Sim-plicity series. I bought it 2 days later....
  13. Hmm, so still no one who can actually read it. I guess was expecting at least some Japanese playing KSP... As for the percentage, This bottle states : Grade: Honjozo Seimaibuai: 65% Acidity: 1.4 Amino Acitidy: 1.5 Nihonshudo: +1 Alcohol: 15.5% So, I think its something to do with the grading/production/composition of the sake, rather than the alcohol content. I could easily tell if I open it, but I am kind of saving it for the right occasion...
  14. Can you tell what alcohol content the sake has? I can see 60%, but that seems too high for a wine...
  15. I was pretty sure that the gold was safe to drink, since it being a very inert element. I wasn't quite sure if there wasn't some sort of straining ceremony attached to the gold leaf drinking... I just some random looking up sake stores, and this one comes closest in color to my bottle...
  16. Hello Everyone. Today I have received a very peculiar gift. I finished a work for a very good client of mine, and as a gesture of good will, he gave me a bottle of sake. This is in UK, and he got the bottle from his daughter who lives in Japan. I have gladly accepted the gift, but when I got home and had a good look at the bottle, I have realized that It had golden flakes floating in the sake!!. So now I want to really know more about this bottle before I drain it down. Can someone who can read japanese give me some more info on what I actually have? Is it safe to drink the gold? Is there some special way I should enjoy this drink? Thank you for any info you can give me. Here is a picture.
  17. I usually do it this way as well. Decoupling the last stage engines before reentry seems like a waste of money for me, so I just keep the last stage in one piece. This makes it usually too heavy to just land on parachutes, so I keep a tiny bit of fuel in the tanks. Immediately before touch down ( 10 - 15 m above ground) I fire up the engine a slow down enough to safely land. landing legs are nice, but they weigh quite a bit, so that would defeat the OP aim of minimal weight reentry vehicle.
  18. I have reverted to 1.6.2 because of the button spam. Other than that, thank you for a cool mod.
  19. Pretty much this. I think that would be my pet peeve - annoying, yet fairly insignificant and harmless.
  20. you are all wrong, they are in fact called Roots. Even the symbol is a root square, and it makes sense that green plant species like kerbals would trade in roots... As for the spending, I usually blow it on large manned missions with lots of instruments and science gathering.
