  1. Yep - Kerbal Konstructs and Kerbin Side Remastered. Provides a bunch of bases across Kerbin. Hopefully I'll be putting them to good use.
  2. In other news... 'Halcyon' has finished STS-2A! Mission report for the flight (internal designation SSP2-H2): https://imgur.com/a/B0PZm89 A couple of choice shots:
  3. I could take back over with making new badge designs. I still have the original source files for the current batch and I should have time to whip up new designs every now and then.
  4. Yep. Shuttle's fully stock (including parts from the Making History DLC, though). Mods used during flight were either aesthetic (TexturesUnlimited, EVE/SVE, Kopernicus/SVT, RasterPropMonitor, KER, Kerbal Konstructs/KerbinSide, PlanetShine, Scatterer) or information aids (Trajectories, KER, KAC, VesselView, RasterPropMonitor). I really do hope to take this design far too! I think it's got real potential - the fact that it isn't meant to be a strict Shuttle replica means I can be so much more flexible with it. And, of course, always good to get some more practice on KSP...
  5. Ah damn. Well, looks like future mission reports are coming in the form of images in spoilers for me then.
  6. Answering the contract for a new Space Transportation System laid out by @michal.don Industries et al., MythicDyne responds with the new Space Shuttle Program, headed up by her first shiny new orbiter, the SSV-1 Halcyon... This mission report for her first flight (SSP1-H1; aka Space Shuttle Program Mission 1 - Halcyon Flight 1), taking the MulletDyne 40T Fuel Pod to a ~83000km high Kerbin orbit, should satisfy the criteria for missions STS1A and 1B Commander's Rank: https://imgur.com/a/GKOOJQ8 (If anyone could tell this old hasn't-been-on-the-forums-in-a-year geezer how to embed Imgur albums again on this newfangled forum software...that'd be much appreciated!)
  7. Do I see a new Shuttle being test-fired? I have to add my voices to the rabble and say - tell us more! Does it work post-time-accel? What's the mass limit on it, if any? I could definitely see myself using this...
  8. Absolutely incredible to see this challenge still in action! Just wanted to pop in and say well done, guys - it's been awesome scrolling through the 47 pages and seeing everything everyone's done (and those nice fancy badges in everyone's signatures)... Maybe I should make something and get back in the game?
  9. Interesting! Question - I bought KSP before April 2013, but I transferred my purchase to Steam after April 2013. Will I still be eligible for the free DLC, and if so I'd receive it through Steam, correct?
  10. I have to agree. Such a maneuver is quite common in KSP and doesn't make this challenge unique.
  11. Just make a new sandbox save and copy the persistence file from @TheGuyNamedAlan into it (replace the old one).
  12. Your choice, I don't have any preference to using 4 or 3 launches. The launchers I'm working on should be able to handle the load in 3 launches but 4 would be a bit easier, of course. Then again, I always love a challenge...
  13. Turns out I have a business trip from the 12th to the 20th, so could I be moved to the 25th-26th Nov slot please? Also, I will be launching a habitation module and airlock module to Lookdown Station (2 separate launches) as well as a crew return vehicle and airlock module to Gateway Station (single launch). The airlock modules for both stations will contain heavy-duty jetpacks for minor station maintenance. I may also launch a solar power truss and a central docking module to replace the single truss currently present on Lookdown to increase the amount of docking ports currently on the station (to be launched with the airlock module), depending on the station layout by the time my turn rolls around (if the solar truss is connected directly to the science module, there will be no way to replace it).
  14. Thanks for the screenshots @valens. I'd like to take the 11-12 November slot and add a module or two to both Lookdown and Gateway. On that note, would it be alright if I also removed ACTV-1 from Gateway and replaced it with a spaceplane/lifting body inspired crew lifeboat? In real life, the planned ISS lifeboat (Crew Return Vehicle) was a lifting body in order to have more control over the touchdown location as well as to reduce the stresses on possible injured passengers (who obviously wouldn't be able to take as many Gs as healthy passengers). An in-game justification could be a fault in ACTV-1 combined with the above...? Just a thought.
  15. There's been a series of challenges running on the forums lately - the Space Transportation System challenges. The first iteration was made by @inigma, the second by myself, and the third by @Speeding Mullet. @Speeding Mullet's working on the 4th iteration right now.
  16. @Scientia1423 Could you post a few pictures of Lookdown Station from different angles, specifically of all available docking ports and the current layout of the station? I'm interested in expanding it with a habitation and possibly a fuel module, as well as possibly moving a couple of modules if need be.
  17. Well, for me it's just the ability to let out my creativity into something and watch it succeed (or blow up, both work).
  18. Very impressive replica! This would do very well with the STS challenge, which right now is unfortunately closed... Wait a little bit perhaps?
  19. I don't find they help much, to be honest. Last time round, the radiators didn't seem to help with heating much while also creating drag, so I just ditched them for my entry (which clocked in at about 51 minutes).
  20. I'd say a volcanic moon with liquid lava flows that will overheat Kerbals and parts, along with volcanic eruptions. Then perhaps some planets with unique atmospheres - say, a place with a really cold atmosphere that reduce rocket engine thrust and make jets unusable (despite a lot of oxygen in the atmosphere).
  21. Literally just SRBs with decouplers and Separatrons. My point still stands.
  22. Could you try thinking of some more rules for this challenge to make it a bit more unique? It's incredibly easy to make an SLS rocket - you literally just strap a mammoth to a couple of 3.25m tanks, an adapter, an upper stage and an upper stage.
