You'll need a killer graphics card for KSP to run smoothly on highest settings, as it is the GPU that has to do most of the calculations.

Have a look at the other youtubers out there, like Nerd2 and Scott Manley and the like. They are great for inspiration, but try not to copy too much, even though it is really entertaining. It really depends on what kind of channel you are thinking of having, i.e. that you make tutorials, or make fail videos, or just record yourself playing KSP.

If you want to remove debris right away, like an orbital stage you forgot to add separators to, then I recommend Hyperedit, it has a nice UI for just clicking on the name to delete it. Be careful though, it sort every craft and debris only in alphabetical order, so one misclick may ruin one of your missions, but it is great for instant removal while flying.

That is wicked! Have you seen the Whiskey Tango Foxtrot Egg? It's a cage of struts, and when you put a kerbal inside on a ladder, the thing just takes off. This is looking like a bigger and more controllable version

As TD said, the alleged fuel line(s) may have broken. Apart from that, mechjeb has some bugs too, so if you use mechjeb a lot, try to download the newest version (do it again, even if you already have it) and install from scratch.
