Did some initial designing on housing for kerbals on other worlds.
-
Downloaded and started KSP 1.0 2nd rocket shown below. Did not quite make orbit. so far it has been a nice enjoyable start to exploring the new and different features. :-)
-
Practicing my flying skills -BFR (biannual flight Review). this time with a float plane. It works quite well once you get it to the water.
-
Testing new light weight part designs:
-
Some more shots on the van series of ships (holding 5-6 Kerbals) and a smaller personal transport ship ( holding 1-2 Kerbals). Enjoyed working the boosters down to near minimum in mass and cost yet have enough fuel to roam the orbits around Kerbal. :-)
-
Been working on my Van series. Van 5 is finishing up testing with a landing at the space center. the model holds 6 kerbals.
-
I am taking a look at lifters. Below is my HL-3 lifter design. A bit lighter then the HL-2 Used the HL-3 Lifter to deliver several Emergency Habitats around the Mun. It works very nice :-)
-
Trying out a new engine as well as clipping fuel tanks together. On its way with a maned mission to place a survey satellite around Moho and do a little science before a planned returned.
-
Hold together.....Hold together......Hold together......... It Did!!! and now is on the way to Jool to place a satellite around all of Jools' planetary body's for mapping and science.
-
Added floats to one of my aircraft. I Like it. Take off from the water/ocean requires a bit of a special technique but otherwise it did fine. :-)
-
Two day's ago went for a night test flight in a newly design (minimum parts -Firespitter) aircraft. It work quite well slow speed but goes nearly forever. May try and put floats on it and see how it fly's. Yesterday reach the science tech level of being able to use the stand alone warp drive in science mode. Warp vehicle/probe out on its way for testing when it reach safe testing altitude. [PS: science mode is a bit harder to do then career mode - at least longer]

Started a standard career mode in 0.90. Pilots are needed for SAS control so created a Gemini Flyby ship to take two kerbals (Pilot & Scientist) on a mission. I am transforming the Gemini Flyby into a lander for a Mun mission (plant the flag). So far the career mode had been interesting and contracts can be challenging. One of the interesting contracts was to place a base on the Mun that can house 12 kerbals so I came up with this design with the limited amount of researched science that I had done. Not the most beautiful design but it was the first to land on the Mun and by contract I received about 1200 science points along with substantial funds. Not bad :-) Now only if I had a Kerbal in the base I could have completed another contract by planting a flag. Will have to wait for a lander. I have also been playing a bit with the administration part of the game.

I was playing around with Station Science mod and found that I needed more scientists for my space station. http://imgur.com/SwIgcq6 Taking off my basic workhorse truck design, http://imgur.com/x3UNbaN I cam up with another design that will be able to transport many kerbals, be used as a push-pull tug, an escape vehicle. Basic housing for a space station, transport space station experiments/scientists to and from a space station . Made out of stock parts (minus mechjeb) Test so far have gone quite well. Abort function is attached to back docking ring decouple and small solid fuel engines. I think it will become another work horse along with the truck design that has done so much work in the past. :-)

I like this screen shot so I placed it as my desk top background. A clearer version with attachments to complement a long mission is below. Down loaded the KSP .90 version so I will be looking at that soon.

Worked on creating usable kerbinite collector ships. Each converts kerbinite into fuel. K3 a bit to tall, K4 a bit massive and K3 Short just about right. Then I had the wild idea of what about changing out the capsule to use new science instruments? Thus the creation of the Taurus plug and play ship. The biggest and most massive I have created with a single launch. this one has 4 capsules that can be attached to the rest of the K3 Short body for on ground planetary science/exploratory/refuel work. Taurus Plug and Play is ready for refuel then travel to... for testing.

I did a test flight for a large two stage lander I put together about a week ago. Big, Nice, Works well :-) Start of the trip. Revisit the memorial to Neil Armstrong: http://imgur.com/5brj3Ji Revisit the large arch: http://imgur.com/m4R1NZv Landed near a monolith: http://imgur.com/eUi9ZSU Approaching Kerbin : http://imgur.com/KUjRPHp Safely back home :-) http://imgur.com/f6CmANZ

No antenna on these particular ships. I can get one Karboite antenna on the top satellite of the stack but have not figured out a good way yet to do them all (side mounting would work). However I am thinking on that issue. It may be more effect to have a karbonite antenna on ships that go out to mine karbonite. Possible? I do have two small ships that I have been experimenting with in finding and mining the Mun but currently not able to mine enough to get back to Kerbin. Probable solution - make bigger ships to hold more fuel or created fuel. No current screen shot of these ships yet. Respectfully - BJ Quest

I have been working with Karbonite add on. In this process I have been creating surveying/mapping ships to map Duna and its moon Ike, Eve and it moon Ghilly and then Jool and its various moons. Creating ships to go and map out Duna and Eve is easy (leaving a small mapping satellite in orbit around each body). Even having the remains of the ship drop in and land on Duna and Eve for some science should go well. Jool is a different story. The attached screenshot is my solution to getting 6 orbiting mapping satellites to the Jool system. So far the ship launches well and the individual satellites separate nicely in orbit around Kerbin. Now to fuel it up and take it out to the Jool System. The small satellites also have several DMagic science collectors on them and I am using SCANsat add on for the mapping of the celestial bodies.

I have been working on space planes. Boosted from the runway. Uses of drop tanks. Visit orbiting station. Landing on Kirbin in one piece. :-)

I dropped PixelSpace Micro Probes mod into KSP v.25 to see if it works (so far it does) Redid the smallest landing probe I seen in KSP (slightly bigger then my 1P2S Microprobe KSP v24.2) and tested it - working well. Created a short stack (3 MP(T-P-S)) built to keep alined the vertical center of gravity and mounted on a new deep explore nuclear powered rocket ship "ZED" with a bit of unique construction techniques. among the unique techniques is pining the three side mounted tanks with one strut (set at 3x) connected at the closes point near the bottom of the tanks by the engine. It works well reducing the part count by 3 from the normal 6 struts to tie the 3 tanks together. The separation of first three set of tanks/booster gave a good look at techniques and the design of the ZED rocket. The capsule, should it be occupied, can be separated from the rest of the rocket and maneuvered on RCS for docking to another standard docking port. (RCS thrusters have been moved to do this since the snapshot was taken). This is also designed fro reentry to Kerbin (2 side mounted chutes). Now if there were micro docking ports one might (depending on weight) be able to fly the MP(T-P-S)'s back up to a ship for recovery and full science point values. There is enough fuel in the MP(T-P-S) probes to handle this task for most planets/moons. All in a long nights work :-)

SPACE STATIONS! Post your pictures here
BJ Quest replied to tsunam1's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
A few new parts. A new station "SS5" New features: 6 micro probes with one solar panel "1P2S" (upgrade of 1P2) : http://imgur.com/JNaZBrY The smallest landing probe I have seen anywhere in KPS. 6 RCS powered small personal transports 6 small one person viewing cupola Worked on and made larger size booster "S3-Type" Drop 3 tanks/engine then drop 3 tanks/engine left with center tank/engine (3x2 stage drop). Most likely the best of a series of 5 stations designed in version 24.2. --- SS-4: http://i.imgur.com/9HMI4ud.png
