  1. 1) EA - I practically dont get their stuff anymore 2) Most likely an 'EA' thing got yer vid(s) or account banned; its probly only temporary tho I think you can fix it once maybe; I had videos banned...its the music too youtube will catch you on music its wierd how they find you so fast... cdr Zeta
  2. Howdi, I will be streaming a radio broadcast interview with Commander Zeta and KSP Radio, as well as running the SIM to test new materials and try to setup basic pod design. The Mir project is nearly completed and ready for the mission and live launches; it will be the first space station per our Space Engineers' requests; dont ask me why we are doing difficult things first... http://www.twitch.tv/cdr_zeta See ya there... Oh I may also load up Blender first and try to build some simple items... A notice has been written up in my fan-works thread ! Cdr Zeta
  3. Greetings: A radio interview is available now; the reception was poor; we are trying to clear up the issue. We have a new player in town - or in space I should say ?! There seems to be not one but 2 brothers lost on Kerbin: Billy Bob Billy Bobke We dont know there could be more like twins or triplets; they mey be abitrambunctious and not with the program; in fact they may have strted their own launch facility or have been recruited by an unkown source; we are looking for them. There will be a stream tonite...we are looking at new materials from the space materials division. We are also doing SIMULATIONS of escape pod testing and basic pod design; no real launches as of yet. A new Mission Control facility is being built; we are looking into the SIM to check out materials...Commader Zeta is still workin on graduating and getting the SIMULATOR fully functional to be added to the mission control facility; it seems as though the system was hacked already and some real launches have occured on the planet; or even on Mun we dont know yet and are investigating this. The TV channel: http://www.twitch.tv/cdr_zeta will be giving a broadcast of the radio interview, then on to simulations testing of new materials and basic pod testing... Commander Zeta
  4. Hello, My thanks as well and the above poster couldnt have said it better ! I have learned about Blender now and want to learn how to build simple mods; learning the game in the Kerbin Academy SIM then off to the real missions for some ROLEPLAY that just is lookin awesome in itself if it works out ! I havnt touched any other games for almost a month now probly...I do realize you are qorking on a different game of similar sorts and I am sure it will be as great as this one ! Cdr Zeta
  5. Hello, Check out Twitch if yer not busy - I am sure you will find us streamers out here...including me ! Thanks for all the views ! I ran a few Blender streams today - quite boring and difficult for me but I got thru about 1/4 of it ! I can build stuff now; sort of ! I am lookin to build a mission control center mod for planet, moon, and space station bases; and we are gettin seats for our Kerbies (!); how kool is that ! Tonite I am workin on the Mir project SIM, doin reliability and safety emergency escape testing; I am almost done with the SIM portion after a week and a half! I will be workin on payload designs later I hope, and do some dock attempts; all in the SIM Academy though. All I have left is a few smaller rocket launches for reliability tests, some orbital stuff...I am almost doen with the majority of my SIM work and ready to send these Kerbals to their fates ! Cdr Zeta
  6. Howdi, I gonna be lookin for a tutorial, maybe building some parts... Not sure how long I will be on...then hopefully workin on KSP Cdr Zeta
  7. Howdi, Lets give this baby a whirl shall we....: (!) http://www.blender.org/download/get-blender/ I read where it can export to .dae which is a Unity file for the game objects...ugh! Lucky I got some brains...just some (!)...I started with animation and doin some things with the program but gave up on it...! Hop on over and watch me botch this one up ! Ya never know tho.... http://www.twitch.tv/cdr_zeta Hopefully I will do a relaunch SIM of my Mir project and will go over the Mir. Cdr Zeta
  8. Howdi, Tonite I will live stream working on these tutorials for the first time ! http://www.twitch.tv/cdr_zeta Cant garrantee anything and I mite get bored cause it is too hard (for me); it takes a long time for things to sink in for me but I will give it a try tonite ! Cdr Zeta
  9. Howdi, Anything oyu need to control must have a probe or pod; dock port doesnt matter; if you cant control the ship the dock port is on you cant undock it...I dont think you have to be on any object that doesnt have a probe/pod and undock; you just wont be able to control anything. My issues was weird; I undocked and I think I ended up in an uncontrollable station; I just switched out; not sure if that was your problem, but the answers were here in the thread. Now as to the type of dock ports and mods thats a different matter, and their useages must be tested. I will plan on using multiple different types of mods but have reliable bakups just in case; instead of SIMMING all this stuff I plan on running live missions to test the mods just to have fun and hope for some minor disasters!!! Oh the funn of modding! Some parts I seem to have problems with too...I am just starting to play with that shielded port so I cant comment on it; it probly will have a use somewhere !! Cdr Zeta
  10. Howdi... Neat idea...I did it a few times but with small things like winglets. I just cut throttle, sep out aspy stages and slowly push out; it isnt very efficient; I still have roll problems as I am still learning - ALOT ! I cant see a real need for this yet but there may be other areas - space stations which naturally spin might have something that needs seperating; but not have to force this kind of seperation. I used rotation to turn my solar panels on quicker...! Cdr Zeta
  11. Hello, This is a good question... My thoughts were (after I finally figured out the game for a few weeks...) just build it, learn to get it into orbit, use mechjeb to teach me as the more complicated and heavier rockets require manual operations and proper sequencing to attain orbit - successfully and not in pieces ! My main problem so far (just learning) is calculating fuel useage, weight useage vs fuel used, orbital calculations and grav assists to save fuel hopefully...most of this so far has been done 'in the SIM'. On my 'real mission' where real things happen, we do need to learn fuel consumption management; this is a whole new area for us as we learn about the new fuels like Kethane, ion, etc...Fun fun fun !!! Oh The Learning !!! There is however a methodology that real world aviators use - ' leave 1/3 in reserve ' . Follow this rule and you cant go wrong; depends on the application etc; I still dont know how much fuel it takes to go places cause the manuver nodes dont readily give out this information; somehow it needs to be figured out; this would actually be considered a spoiler as it is a major part of the learning process not only of the game, but in my case, of the Kerbal Engineers and me learning it to progress in KSP and not lose any Kerbals. I have left a few stranded Kerbals out there (!) (in the SIM); I want to do a half and half; some SIM work to calculate fuel and orbits, and some live 'more risky' operations in the real missions; I ROLEPLAY so that is also part of my future fun aspect of this game ! Hope that gives you a good idea for an example ! Cdr Zeta
  12. Howdi... Too bad this happened and I agree the 'end flight' UI is a tad concerting but probly the least of our worries; it is a matter of getting to know the game - I havnt even read many tutorials cause I didnt want to spoil anything for me - learning and making mistakes is half the fun, but really half the game too...take this to heart; seemingly there are vet gamers here who are 'bored' cause they basically did it all where as we havnt. At a few points I was really stumped, especially with the manuvering nodes - dont worry and go with it ! I am still abit confused and use trial and error along with looking at some vids as well, but I try to keep the vids down. There is alot of creativity in building and running the game - explore the many possibilities here - I have lost many a time or losing things as well in my computer lifetime and banged on my keyboard a few times....check out the crazy people who get angry when somethin breaks in their game - you wont feel so bad !!! I have - and compared to what I have seen, I want to start over ! Unfortunately I do tend to start over alot... I dont recommend it - but it sure makes life easy sometimes...it is not that practice makes perfect - it makes it 'REWARDING! '! I have spent a week or more on one KSP project, like building a rescue plane - I am still not totally happy cause I really want to get my 'real missions' going; I consider myself 'almost' graduated from Kerbin Academy (on my game and site which hasnt been updated cause I been so busy playin the game and building things! Cdr Zeta
  13. Howdi, I now have some of the various programs to model things, and animate...it seems to be actually more involved than I want to get into; complex; talk about learning curve...but KSP is one of the few programs I can do this in...indeed thanks for making the videos... My problem is which way to go and why... Some videos seem to have figured out a good seemless workflow; I also intend to make video shorts...kind of adds to the mix. My 2 big things are to make buildings that Kerbals can work in, and make the Kerbals themselves actually working in the buildings; this is actually beyond me cause I cant code the AI stuff even though I can program some C+; I just dont have the time and am not fluent. I also dont want to 'really' learn how to do much of this; but hey; the option is there and I am scratching the surfaces here. For animation I am using Poser; also for animating Kerbals and maybe buildings/parts ? I didnt know Blender does animation. Poser sems to fit my bill; I only need simple animations and can seem to setup key frames etc; that and adding voice/sounds to the animations; more learning curve but hey right !!!? I will check out the vids - in fact I may even go live stream (see my stream posts!) on it from scratch and see what transpires !!! If I can learn Blender anyone can right !! If I dont do so well thats just me; I am fairly technical so that does help. I also have 3ds max, unity 4, blender, lightwave, aurora 3d... I also may just make the building parts then just add them as parts for the game; lots of work. Wish me luck ! Cdr Zeta
  14. All I can say here... is "NICE!" Our Kerbal engineers want a similar role going on here...we are scratching the surface soon ! Keep up the good work ! Cdr Zeta
  15. Hello, We had some interesting 'sim' flights lately (!); I will report in the fan-works in a few days I been kinda busy an lazy - wait busy at bein lazy?... I am still going over my lifter rocket designs and have been setting on one main design idea - hop on over and check it out I will be building 2 of the main designs tonite - this isnt for the squimish ! There may be a few failed (somewhat) launches, but they are meant to be a leanring process for me as well - learn by practicing (in the 'SIMULATOR' !); someday soon the launches will be for real ! I have made a few simulated trips out to DUNA, and am working up storylines (roleplay I guess !) to add to the motivational aspects of making the game more enjoyable, for how I seem to like to play it. (I guess this is meant for some people who seem to be bored and dont know what else to to do; some mind you as there arent many who roleplay). I did some roleplay last nite quite ad-lib and lo a story is happening all on it's own...partly due to my space experiences (ya know movies, books, etc). Tonite it is mostly testing and building and demo of my main designs; re-building from scratch again cause I like to start over a lot... Cdr Zeta
  16. Hello, Great community but I hope people understand that there will be breaks in developer work; just go and try to do an animate with AE...I am learning about movie production, animation..gads I dont even want to do this...but there is a new learning experience..talk about learning curve...KSP is nothing to trying to do some animation...lucky as I go onwards there are ways to make things work quicker - you just have to keep trying... It takes time to make 'games' that are 'GOOD' ... this is a "GOOD" game - meaning that being "GOOD" when one understands it and likes it for what it is, it will always be there; that is one major benefit of single player; add streaming to SP games...WOW I havnt had so much fun and some people pop in and say hi in the stream - its kool - and I go to other KSP'r streams and reciprocate....we need that, some of us. I wish I could have gone to Iceland...WOW... Cdr Zeta
  17. Hello, WOW (!) this looks amazing ! Not sure if some of the longer trips like to Eeloo (sp?) might fit in but the goals look great; funds received can go back into the space program...I havnt setup a funding program for my Kerbals yet; I would have to look at the pricing etc; kind of go with the MODDERS...I mean a space station core is gonna cost more than a beam part etc! Good luck ! Cdr Zeta
  18. Greetings, Below is a synopsis included in the stream...which is located at: http://www.twitch.tv/cdr_zeta/b/398960394 The above stream was a live account and simulation on Kerbin Academy's SIMULATIONS computer, with the storyline below...from the desk of Cdr Zeta: ............. The Kerbin Mission pre-launch simulation... (PART 1) http://www.twitch.tv/cdr_zeta/b/398775566 Rescue plane demo, orbital ops and landing, recovery operations...I still need to look at our rocket lifter selections so bear with me... I hope to launch the big stuff but these launches are lengthy - 15 to 20 minutes just to get into orbit around Kerbin..thus the need for game-time efficiency vs fuel efficiency tests came to be. The order if activities in unkown...there will be a few parts and a little ceremony at the end signifying the beginning of a new era - The Kerbin Mission, the discovery of Kerbin, and their reason for being... This from the desk of Commander Zeta, attache consulate space engineer from Zeta Reticuli and ambassador to the United Inter-Galactic Federation of Mutually Co-Existant Societies. a long time ago on a far distant planet in a far distant galaxy, a plant was borne...and it discovered a creature... the creature was small comparatively, but the plant was smaller...the plant spoke to the creature, and called it... Kerbal well this little kerbal had a name - "Billy Bob" billy bob was excited that the plant spoke to him, cause he dont talk much if at all - he is very shy but a nerd really he always wanted to be a space engineer, but his parents said no we want you to follow in our footsteps - gardening... well those old plants never talked to billy bob - not like this one he took it home and put it in a pot by his bedside...and fell asleep and dreamed...and dreamed...and dreamed the plant was with him...sometimes he didnt know it, but it was guiding him; drawing him to a future he could not possibly imagine... and then he awoke, told his parents he wanted to be a space engineer, and left home...so here he is now, a technician at Kerbin Academy...he likes to 'play' on the simulator...I have to keep after him... then one day I saw him take out a ship to test it (without authorization) - he does this and we dont get mad at him...he is a dreamer but we need to keep him on task...maybe we will see him sometime...there is a story to be told we think...only time will tell for "Billy Bob Kerman"... thus is the beginning of the end... commander zeta, space engineer and astronaut, arrives on Kerbin, sets up the Kerbin Academy, and for several weeks trains Kerbals Space Engineers...getting them ready to explore their solar system... this is the story of Cdr Zeta's training and Academy graduation tests, getting the academy ready for the Kerbal Engineers to use the Acadmey and it's simulators to build their dreams of flying into space...soon... the simulators will be only a tool as everything will then be real...the buildings, the ships, the explosions...may a brave Kerbal will join the ranks of the best of the best... ==================================================================== PART 1 Synopsis... previously, various simulations went awry...glitches in the computer systems, gremlins running amook... activities sometimes have many pauses, like now...one famous kerbal invented a strange desert and named it after one of Earth's countries...I am delighted to partake of this 'italian ice'...goes good with cookies and cake and whatever else I can find around here.... getting back to bizness... so far we have launched a 'mir' core...the Earth 'soviet peoples' have had Kerbals here interested in their old technologies...I was not overly happy with the inclusion of old and new technologies being parts of one ship, but after several conferences, I have been convinced of the many potential benefits of combining technologies...in fact (after a snak pause)...we are using old technologies here writing this dosier... pauses for food...whew.... where was i... the academy tests are going well for me now since the file system got fixed... we are still working on new communications presentation equip[ment (<<!)qwrdff2derrorerrrooero.... arrghhh.... wait i got a comms msg... I have just rcvd a communique from my comms advisor - he says there was another glitch in the telemakus thinguy...and as ytou can see my text computer is mesin up again.... he says some coive came in over the radio...it only said..."HAL9000"... We know what this is..I will have to chek into this... for now I will be doing a SIM on our new rescue plane - FIANYL!!...WOW...THE TEXT IS A MESS... ........... (PART 2) http://www.twitch.tv/cdr_zeta/b/398960394 having set up the rescue plane display, Camford will now demonstrate the safety feature for the new rescue plane...unfortunately their is great risk on takeoff and no immediate rescue feature has been added...Kerbal pilots are aware of the great inheriant riskes ivloe...errrthis petwr..... wat is up with this hal9000 thing...bill just called me ugh rite in the middle of this demo... the high altitude demo you have just seen is to show pilot emergency recovery...normally in a rescue situation, this would not occur...next we will demonstrate (hopefully!) crew pod recovery ! (it looks like in this instance we cannot EVA so must end flite...we need to work on this - all scenarios must allow for pilot escape...not end flite...thus the need for simuations testing !) we will now demonstrate a normal flight and rescue ops...after the rescue we will then deploy a rescue recovery with crew pod in tact we hope ! oops !! camford has discovered 2 problems with emergency crew pod deployment...did you catch them !? note also that he is upset and worked the problem to save the imaginary crew !!!good for him !!! even tho he is an AI ! Camford just demonstrated the repairing of the Kerbal SUIT glitch !! This concludes this portio of the Kerbin Academy Rescue Plane Ops DEMO... looks like we passed ! but we need to fix a few things yet !!! lets hope I can remembver to do them !!!!! if this was a real kerbalnaut he wouldnt be very happy right now and I wouldf be in the drink for awhile - or clinker oir watever.... ...end comms... <<<<< So tonite looks like I need to review the problems above, and make the emergency deployment as good as it can be...the overall test was a major success (SIM-Wise)...there is still a major problem with the BRAKE sequencing and firing up on the runway - this has been solved by having the pilot manually move the kik-starters up forward prior to launch !!!!!!! The problem re-occured however during rescue ops SIM of engine fire-up with the brakes on so the pilots reall yneed to be on guard - still not sure how to implement this safety procedure - in one sim is cost an AI his life; at least the kik-starters were off and the pilot has time to cut the engines long enuf for him to figure out why the plane didnt move HAHA !! CDR Zeta PS It is anticipated the a trailer and movies will go into production soon, as well as new comm and mission control centers to be built - watch out for upcoming streams - they will be titled "Kerbin Mission" only - NO SIM when the buildings are bing built.
  19. Greetings ! After some problematic, problems earlier I deleted the pre-launch stream...hopefully I get it right this time ! I ended up with an almost exploded rescue plane and Bill and Jeb in the middle of an ocean ! Blamed on file confusion and Kerbin Academy Simulator glitches ! So tonite I am tryin again to get it right! If all goes well there will be about 2 or 3 parts, then all SIMULATED activities are design and test, probly with probes; any future design, build, and test will be in the real mission! Whenever this gets going, I will post the updates in my fan section thread! I kinda like the roleplay of it all...just a little creativeness comin out ! Cdr Zeta
  20. In a few minutes when I get settled, I will be going over the Asparagus Fuel system, problems with fuel deployment, and a stage sequence I use for all my main payload lifting to orbit. I havnt figured out the proper weight yet for best results, nor have I figured out the most efficient system. There is a major time element in KSP, and the efficiency versus time is an expense we may not be happy with. Lets get in to the game, get into space, cause in the end, the fuel we have left may not be fuel we need (!); but the time lost in playing...well...we cant replace that. I am going to demonstrate this tonite ! cdr Zeta
  21. I cant imagine defective parts will corrupt a gamesave...but maybe..so if the files have parts as part of the gamesave...?? well I guess they do...this is defintely disconcerting...I have had a part or 2 seem to mess up; I could move the part around, reattach it, and fix the bug...never had lost things tho...I will try to watch out for this and work with the robotics...I did once and it did seem slow and cumbersome; not sure what to really use this mod for; I havnt got to that point yet...thanks for the update... cdr Zeta
  22. Hello, Usually from what I understand there are what is called Monday Afternoon Streams...Just hang out Monday afternoons (EST time I guess) and hope for the best...I watch streams as much as I do my own - I am on almost every night...so far I have advanced to settling down on: 1) A Rescue Plane 2) A few payload lifter rockets; one for fuel only 3) Learning stage development, proper sequencing both manual and auto... 4) Trying to get Kerbals to safety in an event of disaster I still have more work to do on my lifter rockets, and am progressing; I stream my work just about every night, and learn new things all the time; like for one how to scroll the lengthy staging icons when they dissappear off the screen; it took weeks to finally get this figured out. There were things about plane building that came up; took me hours to figure things out but I streamed it all and now (LOL pun intended here...>>), my work is becoming more stream-lined ! I also watch other peoples' streams to get ideas on how I would do things; or not. I am quite far behind on the advancement areas and take things slowly, and have a serious side of the game, which I am reluctant to get into, but it will happen soon. I am also working on a mission control system for the live streams and hope it works out; all for my 'real Kerbin Mission' ! Just check out other streams - they are out there ! And dont forget me ! I know I am perty boring for now but I hope to get into building my space and refueling stations, Mun bases and Kerbin bases; it's all there just waitin ! Cdr Zeta
  23. I just looked at this trailer yesterday.... Just Nice ! Cdr Zeta
  24. Hi, The only way is as follows: trading your game around, and others playing on it; then you get it back and you play on it. Problems...Time Warp - Yes it is possible to use it; just make sure all your ships are in viable orbit and will last 90 days or so (keep a MAX Time Warp of 90 days per person and that ends their turn when they use it). Also make sure any of your ground structures can withstand the rogors of the 90-day time warp (DONT USE LANDER LEGS!). MODS - everyone must have the same mods or some ships wont load; some people use MODS I dont care for; so you have a small group of people in the Multiplayer group who agree to MOD useage - problemo solvo. Cdr Zeta
  25. Greetings, As mission training simulations progress, we seem to have some anxious Kerbal Space Engineers wanting to get into space. I keep telling them to have patience ! They most certainly seem to have respect for my advice; we cant make rash quick decisions in space; it is all about slow motion I tell them; they learn fast! I will be doing a RECAP of the real mission tonite on the stream, then onto safety protocol simulations. Kerbin Academy is the place where myself and several Kerbal Space Engineers train to become Kerbanauts. We are all anxious to get into space! As of now, Jeb and Bill (I think it was bill !), are stranded and need to be rescued on Kerbin, we will check on them tonite (!), and give a demo on the rescue plane (simulated of course - I am almost ready to fly it !). Join me and our crew as we begin to venture out into space - Kerbin Space ! Cdr Zeta
