  1. Here's an idea for a 5m capsule: make it a self contained biconic spacecraft capable of gliding through the atmosphere(similar to what ESA is doing).
  2. I'm guessing part 3 is duna exploration/relocation of Kerm seeds
  3. What's the progress so far? This looks like it it will add a nice challenge to my game!
  4. No, what I meant was make a 1.875m fairing base that uses the stock fairing code.
  5. Instead of using your current Zero-Point fairngs, why not just make a a copy of the stock fairing base, then resize/adjust it to 5m?
  6. Also, the LV-N only burns LF now, not LF & LOX.
  7. Probably because the public thinks you've got a lot of 'Nerv' launching nuclear engines into space. Me? I'll use jet tanks until they implement some form of FSFuelSwitch (which is what PorkJet's nuke mod uses). Well, that, or maybe special fuel only tanks that are light, weak, and filled to the brim with fuel (maybe look like round8?)
  8. Then it's a good thing I never use(d) docking mode
  9. Burt the turtle?! And here I thought the only time I'd see him was in American Studies.
  10. If hydrocarbons are so hard to find in space, then please explain why Titan has oceans of oil and a methane atmosphere.
  11. I like it, but it should be limited in some way. For example: LFO/jet tanks can hold LF, O, or both, but not MonoProp or Xe. Tanks would have colored stripe added to indicate what type: gray for LF only, blue for O only, no stripe for both.
  12. Why are people against mining Xenon? It's not like we couldn't just find trace amounts in the ore, right? besides, considering how efficient ion engines are, you probably won't have to mine for xenon too often.
  13. It has also been mentioned in the latest devnotes that they're adding a new SRB: the RT-5 "Flea". The name "Flea" suggests that this new SRB is probably 0.625 meters.
  14. As stated earlier, why not both? just make a copy of the Round8, retexture it, change it from LFO to Xe, then rename it. It would probably take 10 minutes max.
  15. So, basically use the Mk1 inline clamp-o-tron in a 1/2 sized mk2 cargo bay.
  16. So, regex basically wants orbiter with custom built rockets. Regex, if you don't like the game the way it is, mod the living daylights out of it and leave us alone. I personally find it annoying when ever I go on any thread related to Squad /game development, see a bunch of constructive and/or informative posts, then suddenly see 'Squad is stupid/lazy/unexperienced/unreliable!!! They MUST listen to me and my suggestions, so they can make the game the way I want to play.' If the game/developers upset you so, go make your own game. While yes, there are things missing and that need to be fixed, they can be addressed without outright attacking the devs.
  17. I know, but what with realistic aerodynamics, realistic thrust scaling in atmosphere, reentry heat, resources, etc. in 1.0, I'd have to rework everything. That, and I have NO idea how to code in C# or use blender, so I could use the time to learn.
  18. You are a MACHINE will definetly get it, especially if the tanks for resources (O2, Food, H20, etc) have visually interesting and unique models (ie: not boring, hard to differentiate flat tubes (ala TACLS)).
  19. no point making stuff now when I'll have to change it completely in a month or so.
  20. re -learning how to fly to space, using the rendezvous tutorial to finally master docking in kerbin orbit (have only docked in mun orbit), learn how to design proper space planes and fly them, go mining on the Mun (since I think no inclination+closer distance>lower gravity), go to duna, Jool, etc. (finally!), get KER, then get a crap ton of parts mods, maybe (MAYBE) start modding.
  21. Squad says you will still be able to turn 45 degrees at 10k, but that it will be HORRENDOUSLY inefficient. So, yes, launches will probably look like that. Also, the souposphere is going away.
  22. Technically impossible. Multistage rockets are initially superior to SSTOs because they can deliver more cargo at a smaller size/mass (Hence why our (and NASAs') SHLLVs are multistage).
