  1. When? In the year, 2525. If man is still alive... (Sorry. I just had to.)
  2. Looks too short to be a VAB to me. And they spoke of an admin block in the news post.
  3. Damn symmetry turning itself of. One Booster was missing. Dropped the remaining three SRBs, explosions everwhere. But it looked like there was still enough rocket left to go for orbit. Nope. Half the payload is gone. Tomcas, while I admire your enthusiasm, you're not going the right way. You will not go to space today.
  4. Mucked around with a rover to send to Eeloo. Once it could climb over the launchpad without loosing too many wheels, I was happy to let it be strapped to the probe. Continued my mission to the Jool system, after eliminating a glitch that occurred because I bought both versions of mechjeb along. Arrived at Tylo. Tilt and eject system worked perfectly. Moved the Jool master probe on to Vall. In light of the coming reaction wheel system, I modified my starfighter. More SAS, and back up solar panels. That ought to do it.
  5. Lack luster Labs mostly. Trees available somewhere in the image thread, I think, if you dig enough.
  6. Is your lander based on the mk 59 moon visitor per chance?
  7. I've been having problems with sub-assembly loader, lately. It tends to stick things through other things. Is there a fix going round?
  8. They've been part of the persistence file thing that defines the kerbals' personality for quite awhile, I think. In my defence, I offered the kerbals I fired out of cannons parachutes, but they don't always take them...
  9. Wehrwin. One of the crew of my first Minmus exploration team, testing a primitive rover- a ship with a cart strapped to the bottom. Later and all round test pilot, then few many shuttles to Kerbo-synchronous transfer orbit to deploy many satellites. Was stationed on "Newstation" then jumped out as part of a parachute test. Became the first kerbal to (safely) land from orbit without a capsule. Was a test subject in the "To Orbit Via Cannon" project. (Which failed.) He earned his place in my home for (temporarily) retired kerbalnuaghts. Though some in my experiment save have been really enjoyable lately. If I like them enough, they get copied into my main save. Like Milly and Sidtrey.
  10. Does two hours constitute quick? Imagine if you had replicated the plane you were in... I've played railsim while on a train before. Strange feeling.
  11. Nice detective work! I'll have to remember that trick. That must be the new office block thing they talked about. Same, but that's what KSC2 is for right? But hopefully it will still somewhat resemble the present KSC. I know my first mission in 0.21 will not be exploration of space. I'm going to be commencing with an investigation of the space centre itself! Edit: I thought kerbal was slang for crazy, potentially disastrous , and cool.
  12. Totally a hoax (My first Mun base was just a few Km south of that. Right in between that and a Kethane deposit near the edge of that crescent. Had a beautiful view of the crater.)
  13. That's odd, I don't recall that happening last time I staged during a maneuver. It tends to only lose them when you switch ships, or return to space centre. Perhaps you could plot the maneuver after staging somehow? This was staged in the middle of a burn. (And yep, those aren't parts from the base game.) Welcome to the forums!
  14. To plan a landing, I use the maneuver nodes. One to plot a course to the spot I'm aiming for, and one, with the node right above the surface, is the deceleration burn. The closer, the better. I pull on the retrograde handle until the trajectory is a straight line, showing I've killed almost all my velocity. Sometimes I use a few more nodes. I do that burn more or less as soon as the "time until node" number matches the "burn time" number. This gives me roughly the time when I need to start the burn so I'm not doing it too late, or wasting fuel by slowing too much, too early. After that burn, aim at the retrograde marker to slow down. Be careful not to oversteer. A landing at 10m/s is fine for most craft. As for not tipping over, make your lander wide. Wait till you're more practiced before you try and land tall things. Landing is a great skill to master. It's not the easiest thing. Also, Welcome to the forums!
  15. Not sure, the only way you can tell without mechjeb, engineer redux, or mapsat, etc, is to land a ship, and see what its coordinates are. Perhaps you could set up a system of marker flags and use them as a reference?
  16. Remember, this solar system is the creation of Squad, and they have the rights to it. So make sure you point that out before publishing anything, like, links and material promoting the game, etc. Make sure they won't need to stop you. With the craft files, I could send them, but there are a set of mods that are required to load them. Nova punch, Aircraft carrier (at least the strut from this) dummy weights, mechjeb, ironcross life support, hybrid ions, Lack luster labs, KAS, Thor probe, Hubba's Zoom camera, protractor, mapsat, KSPX, engineer redux, sunbeam laser, And possibly a few I haven't thought of. I can probably strip them down a bit, what mods have you got? Or, I can get some shots of front, side and top in the SPH, if that works better.
  17. I tend to read them in that narrator's voice. *french accent* "Three hours later.." I think it helps keep you in the characters world, rather than the players: "Then I timewarped for 5 seconds." Glad you guys are all enjoying it. It was a pretty fun mission to do. Those three make a good team.
  18. You need to upload them to a site like imagur first. Then use the insert image button here.
  19. The first one isn't exactly bad. In an abstract, arty kind of way. It could almost be used as a poster, or flag.
  20. That last one, so brilliant. The "early suit prototype" looks so uncomfortable, with the kerbals' long heads.
  21. Oops. Sounds like they needed to do the timewarp cancels angular momentum trick...
  22. Yeah, It will be cool to see what you manage to do with all those tanks that must be up there by now.
  23. Normally, I don't like to post in this thread more than once per day but: I think I just confirmed the site for my next base. Also, look Ma, no hands! This one thinks he's Mario. Decided to replace the flagpole with kerbals. What could be happening here? Is it? A: someone told them you could get closer to space that way. B: one decided to try it, then most of KSC's crew decided to follow. C: We needed to spotlight the flag somehow, and went overboard D: None of them want to be available for whatever crazy thing is being tested over at the SPH. There's 28 there, if you're wondering.
  24. That soundtrack has got to be the creepiest version of the song I've yet heard. The kerbal you chose is a good actor, those last faces...
