  1. With 4 RTGs, lights on at full acceleration, it just barely hits the batteries and will eventually run them dry. It probably doesn't need that much storage. Maybe putting one of those new 200 unit small roundy ones where the octagonal strut is might save considerable weight. It's a little top-heavy. I have a tendency to over battery my craft. Even more so now with the reaction wheels drawing so much power.
  2. By cracky they do. Huh. Never actually looked it up. Sort of changes my opinion a little. Still, more options would be good.
  3. Kasper/Chris, Any way to get that other cupola put back, since the model is different? Just for variety's sake, really. Plus fixing the IVA to the current cupola?
  4. I've noticed something with .21 regarding docking. It has a bad tendency of changing the control focus and then realigning the combined craft after docking. Pretty traumatic if you have a big station chock full of inertia. AT least that's what the problem seems to be. I don't remember this from .20. Also, Sarbian, do you have another build that's not the "official" 2.0.9? Just wondering where the download link is. Also, hope you and Ramon work something out regarding who's version is the "real" one. Not implying that there's any sort of conflict, just that two different MechJebs would be bad, IMHO.
  5. My current station has a ton of the 1K roundy battery packs. I think at this moment is has something over 10K of battery storage, 4 RTGS and 8 Gigantors. Overkill at it finest in the spirit of KSP. It obviously doesn't need all that, the RTGs are probably plenty, but it looks cool. I just have RCS for minor orbit changes, no ions. I think that power generation and storage needs an overhaul to be honest. And some different RTGs would be nice, too.
  6. It works fine. What's the problem?
  7. Sure. 26 parts. Meh. Not that many. You could trim some off this, too. From 250 meters. Is it possible to mod the craft file so the physics engine ignores them? Then it's just more polygons. Lights off.
  8. Making 4 or 6 rovers with an RTG and some floods would be easy. In fact, this is a great idea. Off to install some floodlights.
  9. Can we make one of these threads a sticky so we don't have to have the same argument every week?
  10. If you're going to try MechJeb, get the 2.0.9 version. Keep in mind that MJ isn't altogether happy with .21 and probably needs some adjustment by the Dev. It will have a MechJeb2 folder for your GameData directory. Not sure you need a mod manager for what you have there. Mods in KSP don't tend to be as much of an issue to keep organized like they are in Oblivion or Skyrim. A couple other fun mods that I like are Lazor docking cam, ISA MapSat, TAC fuel balancer and Kerbal Alarm Clock..
  11. GameData unless its pre-.20 in which case you probably shouldn't use it. .21 caused many issues with mods. Some .20 stuff is ok but if you're new you should probably stick with mods that are .21 ready. I'm not sure if KW has been updated.
  12. It's official. I'm an idiot. Picked the wrong washer. Thanks for the help, Sirkut.
  13. Honestly, I don't even recall if it was the T/S 1000 or the ZX81. Now that I'm thinking about it it might have been the ZX81. Red vaguely rings more of a bell than blue. I think the actual difference between the two was very little. Looks like Skunky has us beat, anyway.
  14. At the time, the only program I wrote with it was: 10 PRINT "I AM AWESOME!" 20 GOTO 10 Thankfully my programming vocabulary has substantially increased. I'm still awesome, though.
  15. Pfeh. My first was a Timex/Sinclair 1000. I was a badass. I had the 16k memory adapter. Kneel before Zod. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Timex_Sinclair_1000
  16. That's where Bill and Bob came from. Jeb went up alone and came back with them.
  17. I always send a Hitchhiker when leaving the Kerbin system. One Hitchhiker per Mk1-2.
  18. I'm not saying that they don't click together, I'm saying that thematically they don't fit. Or are you saying my opinion is invalid because I don't agree with you? They don't look like the stock parts, generally. At least the ones I've looked at. Have I looked at them all? No, and I'm not going to. And I'm not interested in a bunch of clutter in the VAB with 5 parts that all basically do the same thing. Are you looking for some validation of your desire to play with modded parts? You're not going to get it from me, because how you play this game doesn't matter to me at all. You have a right to your opinion, but your agreement with my playstyle is irrelevant. Play how you want, I don't care. I certainly don't think the way I play is the "proper" way to play. I don't think I've ever tried to say how someone else plays this game is somehow invalid. I honestly am bewildered at how much "you don't play KSP right" there is. Why does anyone care?
  19. I've had that, too. If you have a probe or any non-kerballed pod, make sure you select "Control From Here" before you launch. I added an RC-001S pod and selected "Control From Here" on that which solved the problem. I think the cause was the fact that I had the MJ pod mounted horizontally. I put the probe under a fairing so I couldn't select it on the pad because it was hidden, so I had to add the redundant RC-001S. Edit: Which now that I read backward, has already been answered. Well, consider it confirmed then.
