What did you name your first rocket?
dharak1 replied to Spacewalking on Sunshine's topic in KSP1 Discussion
JEEBUS I. It didn't make orbit. JEEBUS II did and JEEBUS III-V did Minmus flybys and JEEBUS VI did a Minmus landing and return JEEBUS VII is a base core and JEEBUS VIII is a 3 man return vehicle I am planning to use to get home from the Minmus base. -
Eeloo should get a moon.
dharak1 replied to Spacewalking on Sunshine's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
If you do a quick search on if a moon can have a moon you get some news story about speculation if Rhea has a thin debris ring or a small moon. I would love for Eeloo to get a moon and be a moon. I thought Pluto was changed to a binary system? Pluto-Charon or something. With Charon being a a large fraction of the systems mass the barycenter is above the surface of Pluto. That"s What they think anyway. -
Wow. I never thought of that. I guess I can start recording again.
-
3 hours until they establish a base.
-
Great to hear. Can't wait to start. Anyone else hear how .22 broke saves and made landing legs retract? My Minmus base won't suffer too much but my Mun base will.
-
Who is first to Minmus then?

I can see why it's no refunds. That makes the most sense in the world. You could make a copy for something that isn't dependent on steam then refund. Free game. What do you mean by access? Like updating a game? I would be so annoyed by the constant updating of my 100-something games that I would never use steam. It's a one time thing. They ask once and never again. It's that way for ANY computer program.

What do you think of Deus Ex like augmentations?
dharak1 replied to EvilotionCR2's topic in Science & Spaceflight
I would get it as soon as I could. Then I would laugh at everyone without them. -
0.22 Release Date Confirmed for October 16th,2013,3rd Millenia,C.E.
dharak1 replied to Rockhem's topic in KSP1 Discussion
My WASD and left side of my spacebar are shiny because of games. My Q and E are getting shiny too because of KSP. -
Landing on Tylo is the hardest, getting back after landing? Eve of course!
-
Ah, ok I see. Sending up big stuff is far different from going to Jool. I've only sent maybe 5 missions to Jool but I've sent up stuff bigger than 50 tons. I wouldn't beat myself up about it.

"There is no science to be done in sandbox mode"
dharak1 replied to PwnedDuck's topic in KSP1 Discussion
There be no Science here The techline is nowhere I hope they do make science doable in sandbox. -
Wait wait... What's this about Jool? Did I miss something?
-
Landing on Tylo and giving tips? Good job! I havent landed on anything but Laythe in the Jool system. I could if I wanted to devote time to it. I just like Duna and Ike so much more. I am throwing together a semi-grand tour in my KSP series. I plant to visit Jool after Duna then Eeloo then Moho and Eve then home. I want to land on Tylo, but I'm still questioning if I should. It would for sure need its own lander. I could also reuse my Laythe lander a planned 2 stager with jet engines. I want to do a couple landings on each Jool moon, mainly because it would be easier to balance the craft. Anyway, I rep'd ya.

P.1000 Ratte (Back and bigger than ever!)
dharak1 replied to zekes's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
I want to get a new computer even more now so I can run these things at rates higher than 3 FPS... It would probably help if i closed my like 10 chrome windows... and two files... and itunes... and skype... and fraps... and steam... and camtasia... -
I would like to do the ground base. I want to make a pair of rovers to move modules with wheels. I am actually pretty good at making low gravity bases. If you look at episode 12 of my KSP series I want to do something similar, just with less parts. A few parts of the train on mine are pretty much just for show like the cargo things. I want to make one bigger one and send two on a ship. Edit: Just finished the video. That thing looks crazy!

I am actually pretty interested. I like the idea of taping things on VHS. DVDs don't give the same feel. If you could make digital copies and e-mail them to me or even physical copies I would have no way to thank you. I always wanted to see a live shuttle launch, but by the time I knew anything about them the program ended. I don't think anyone would get mad at you for talking about this.

The dust doesn't blow away though. There is no medium for force to travel through. This isn't skepticism either. It's denial of fact. Big difference. Quick question, were the hairs, eyelashes and fingernails on the astronauts glowing too? They should have. All of those are made of keratin if I remember correctly. Would you mind telling us what mission this was? Also the van allen belt is 600 miles up. Double the altitude of this shuttle mission. If radiation that close to the earth was enough to make hair glow then we would probably all be dead. If we weren't any complex spaceflight below LEO would be a no go.

The Mars skycrane was pretty high off the ground and had a bit of thrust, it doesn't surprise me it left marks. Now imagine something with more weight closer to the surface. We have to remember that dust behaves totally different too. These lines went farther because they are in vacuum. On Earth there is air resistance pushing against the gasses coming out of the engine. The footprints are because the landing probably didn't blow all the dust away. Also, if it was a different crew why can we see all 6 landers in their specified locations? If the landers were sent afterwards they would have been off a few hundred meters.

Did you seriously suggest communism? Not a good system. You need levels to have any sort of society at all. If everyone has equal amounts of everything who is the top dog? The person more people like. Then the person at the social bottom attacks him or kills him. Then the whole system breaks as you pool resources to fight one side. Then some people are poor and others are rich. Then you have bartering for resources then you have common resources to barter. Then you start representing that with other things and then... Oh wait. And I haven't even covered the process of government. Overall sharing resources is a bad idea. Maybe I just think that way because I love being above other people .

It would be asymmetrical. From what I understand these thrust lines extend as much as 10 meters from the craft. Long lines. Maybe even more. They probably did a small lateral burn before touchdown. This would be the spike you see to the left in the photo. The reason the center is risen is because the gasses flow outward more than inward because they are in vacuum. Not an official stance just what I think of it. I would gladly have someone correct me.

Stepping on these legos wouldn't be a problem, them stepping on YOU would be more painful.
