  1. As amazing as it may look, I'd never build one of these monsters myself... Ain't nobody got time/CPU speed for that.
  2. Indeed it is. I'd love to hear any results you can get.
  3. How many batteries/solar panels were needed to make this thing move?
  4. Hey everyone, So recently, I had this weird idea. Right now, my joystick/control setup is the Saitek X52 Pro (see it!), which is a pretty darn good controller. However, I also have an old Logitech Attack 3 lying around (see it!), which I would like to use as an RCS controller. However, when I tried to map the axes accordingly, I had trouble. When I moved the Atk3's Y-axis, the game thought I was moving the X52. No matter what I did with the Atk3, it replaced my command with the one corresponding to the X52. I was wondering if anyone knew of a fix for this. There may not be one, I have no idea. Let me know if you can help me out. Thanks!
  5. Actually, I think that clause only includes in-game experiences with others, in which you are somehow connected to another system (a multiplayer server, another computer, etc.), which wouldn't include mods. But I don't know that for sure. I would guess that because the mods for this game aren't implanted into the game itself, it wouldn't apply. What I mean by that is that when you boot up the game, there is no in-game "DLC" interface. All mods have to be downloaded outside of the game and manually placed into the game's folder, rather than just clicking an "install" button and having the game itself process and install the thing for you.
  6. Granted. Everyone gets love and tolerance except you, making you the one jerk in a world of all nice people. I wish for a blueberry bagel.
  7. I think even if you could load objects more than 2500 meters away, a rocket covering more area than that would probably cause your processor/video card to be instantly exploderized. (Disclaimer: This is an opinion based on my personal machine, which is somewhere between "meh" and "good." People with better systems than mine are free to commence calling me an idiot )
  8. E10+, for "Cartoon Violence," as I believe they commonly say. What makes me laugh is how little the ESRB's standards even matter anymore... There's M, and then there's everything below M. EC, E, E10+, even T for the most part, are pretty much regarded as the "below M" category. Anyone agree/disagree? Edit: Yes, there's also AO, I know. But these games are essentially banned from the shelves, and their presence is negotiable to the point where most people don't know that a rating above M exists.
  9. Or it'll be like 0.20 release day, which was effectively the same thing
  10. Sub-assemblies. I use very similar variants of the same launch stage for probably 95% of my rockets. EDIT: Optimization will be fantastic as well. My game can never really decide if it wants to run at 8 FPS or 60 FPS.
  11. I noticed this about a month ago and I almost emailed Squad about it... Oh OCD, aren't you a fun thing sometimes
  12. True kerbalism. Using the little tiny game bugs to one's advantage.
  13. Both of you are correct, this thing had a lot more fuel than was necessary, especially when dealing with a planet with such low gravity as Minmus (it takes basically no effort, engine-wise, to land there). Yes, there was an enormous amount of spare fuel. I'd like to send it to Ike or Gilly, as I've never landed on either before.
  14. I spent somewhere around an hour or two designing a new ship, and thought, "why not do a detailed mission report of its maiden flight?" I've always wanted to put up a full mission on the forums, and I've never gotten around to it. So here it is. This is the Light Celestial Explorer Mk I probe, on its journey from Kerbin to Minmus for its maiden flight. For not having tested any part of it, I was certainly more than pleased with the result of the mission. Let me know what you guys think!
  15. Good God... This ship is a slideshow producer if I ever saw one! (at least on my system) But quite cool.
  16. I made this same discovery not very long ago... One of the best moments of kerbalism I've ever had.
  17. I see. Good thing my processor is soon to be updated! Thank you.
  18. Hey everyone, So I just realized something. I know that KSP is a 32-bit game, which means that it supports and can use up to and not over 4 gigabytes of RAM. However, on my machine, it isn't even using two. I always have CoreTemp running in the background, and it says that my RAM usage only goes up by just over a gigabyte, far short of the maximum of 4. Is there a way to make the game use up more of my RAM, and therefore run faster/smoother/whatever might happen? I have 6 GB in my machine, and most of it just sits idle while the game runs.
  19. Graphics card and Processor are much more influential in this game than the fact that you're running it off an SSD. I always have my processor gadget open on my other screen, and it shows both cores maxed out at 100% on my [fairly old] CPU when the game enters a loading screen. Ah, how I hope my next paycheck is good enough for me to upgrade my processor...
  20. Along with adding another control pod, make sure you attach batteries accordingly. Admit it, we've all done it before
  21. Mun, because reenacting Apollo missions in my Kerpollo ship makes me feel like a badass. Minmus, because you can jump a million miles. Jool, because everyone who goes near it gets physicsed. EDIT: Yes, physicsed. The past-tense verb of when physics hates you and attacks you violently.
  22. We can't expect the devs to try to work on a massive-scale update while regularly throwing parts at us. SQUAD just doesn't have the personnel or time for that. If you want more parts, I would suggest trying out some new mods.
  23. Welcome to the forums and the game! If you ever need anything, this community will help you. Happy exploding launching!
  24. That computer is certainly better than my ancient machine, and it handles KSP decently. Go for it.
