  1. No problem man, I have enough! Thank you. I can definitely save a lot of parts using the new gizmos. Man.. I'm going to be so busy once 1.0 lands!
  2. LOL! This is really cute. Having said that, kerbals are not known for their ability to put out fires. Good job man.
  3. Looking at that second to last picture really makes me feel like Squad didn't think about the mk3 shuttle parts enough. The only realistically sized engine for the shuttle is the skipper but it's impossible to position them realistically and not have them clip out of the sides of the shuttle.. I really don't like that at all. What exactly were they thinking?? Having said that you seem to have made a very popular shuttle man. Ease of use? I think using liquid fuel for boosters makes it easier to fly. Anywhoo, good job! MJ
  4. I saw that .90 broke this craft a little. It will get a rebuild when 1.0 hits. And a few tweaks as it was made before the new editor gizmos. Thanks! MJ
  5. Sandbox all the way for me. Given that the career mode is as it is. Ie, dull and pointless and forces you to do missions you don't want. The greatest mission I ever undertook was my constellation mission. 8 launches, custom made craft in sandbox. Now that's playing! I really wanted career mode to feel like I was doing something great. For science. Not just unlocking stuff. It's my main gripe with the game. That I see a lot of people have echoed on this thread. Perhaps squad would like to rethink career mode?
  6. No no, I haven't tried them yet. I really hope we can make ones larger than 3.75 with the stock ones! Otherwise, it's a major limitation..
  7. What you have said right there is part of the issue. I believed this to be the case too. It is not that simple unfortunately. The nature of KSPs physics will not see any benefit from this change to Unity 5 sadly. Apart from better memory management and the possibility of stable 64bit. As I said before, search for 'KSP physics' and read the threads from this year. You will see what I'm getting at.
  8. If you search for KSP physics and look at the threads for this year it will become clearer what Squad are up against with the physics. KSP itself is multithreaded but the physics only run on one thread. And changing this may not be possible. Its not an issue of hardware performance. Our modern GPUs and CPUs are monsters for physics. I am just a bit pissed off by the situation as we have been asking for this for ages and its looking more and more likely that we simply wont get what we want.
  9. Dude, we've been saying this on the forums for years. KSP just isn't meant for these kinds of contraptions. That's why stock choppers and bearings died out a while back. I am surprised they are back to be honest. I'm not bashing your work. These are nice examples of some good building. They are, as I have stated before, just a novelty and not really practical. Unity 5 will sadly not solve the part count issues either I'm afraid.
  10. Fair enough man. I havent had a chance to play with those farings yet so I will reserve my final judgment. She does look sleek though. EDIT. how did you make a faring with a base larger than 3.75m?
  11. The low part count is awesome. But I have to say, craft are going to start looking the same now.. Its a shame really. Making your own farings was a real sign of a good builder. Ho hum. We just have to make the contents all the better for it.
  12. I totally agree Snuggler. How can you be interested in planet discovery and exploration and not be fascinated by planetary oceans? If it's there we should be able to explore it, or at least take advantage of it somehow.
  13. That last picture is amazing! - - - Updated - - - Very nice original use of parts there. Great looking plane.
  14. You are making some great craft Upsilon. any news on the next small SSTO?
  15. This is really impressive indeed! The ejection pod is amazing. You really make some of the best KSP craft man. Good work.
  16. Most physicists would say that entropy is the only law of physics that cannot be broken/reversed/bent.
  17. How does it perform the other way round, as you stated in a previous post? You know, with a smaller cog for the prop and larger for the turboprop. I'm curious as to the benefits.
  18. Just don't tell Rune how many parts it has! After visiting every body in the game and being left feeling a little empty, I found my happiness (in game ) again by building. I enjoy making things more than flying them.
  19. Yes I know about gearboxes. The need for them was apparent from the first time I rode a bike with gears! So in the spinning gif you showed the turboprop is spinning faster than the prop right? I noticed the turboprop gear was smaller than the one above. This is a 1/1 gear ratio right?
  20. Woohoo! Great job on these matey. I can confirm all of the above. They are really fun to fly and although sluggish to respond at times they are rock solid stable. Also I was not expecting to survive that loop so kudos to the engineer! MJ
  21. I still don't see the advantage here. Is it that you can drive two objects from a single bearing to be used for wheels? But how is that an advantage for props? All this seems to do is add to the part count and create power losses.. Please enlighten me. MJ
  22. Thanks! Also, is this dead again.. If the OP could set a close date for the challenge then it would have a purpose.
  23. Hi! That's very interesting. What advantages does this have over a single bearing?
