This. I have been using it for some time with the same effect. http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/96729-0-25-DDSLoader-1-7-%28Nov-19%29-Loads-DDS-Texture-Boringly-fast-edition I used this to convert the textures. http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/98672-WIN-KSP-to-DDS-texture-converter
I also dislike the part count restrictions, they make the early parts of career dull because every rocket launch is almost identical. I would rather the only limit be how much it costs to build, compared to how much the contract is worth.
LVT30 is better as a low atmos booster, it's better than solids. The LVT45 has the now all important gimbal and better ISP, so I use it on my core stages.
I prefer to eyball, because I hate messing about with those fiddly manuever node icons . I only use them for lining up the initial interplanetary burn. In the Kerbin system I never use them at all.
Oh my! I think you may have a possible haunting on your hands, that looks like a ghost to me! The only bug I have really had to struggle with, is the memory leak. I am now using DMagic's temperature gauge killer mod though, so it's not as bad.
Biggest failure for me, I had an engine failure at about 1km altitude whilst landing on the Mun. With only one engine, there was no happy ending that day.
Today my space program is on the rocks due to a horrible disaster. Jeb made a slight miscalculation(It wasn't me!) and landed from Kerbin Orbit in the mountains to the west of KSC. Subsequently, Jeb and two space tourists died as their capsules were smeared across Kerbin, after rolling over a cliff with no working parachutes! Funding levels are dire, and morale is at an all time low.
Maybe that's why some people with low end PC's earlier in the thread were saying they haven't been affected, they already turned that off? I am gonna try this, thanks.
I like to use Pilot assistant, if you don't mind mods it's great for taking aircraft long distances. http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/100073-0-90-Pilot-Assistant-Atmospheric-piloting-aids-1-4-2-%28Mar-31%29
In real life the Delta IV heavy core goes to partial thrust mode soon after lift off, and then ramps up to full again at booster sep. It also looks like it's made by Rockomax.
