  1. Yeah, I'm still wondering about the best way to adress issues of reproduction (which are central in a story about a species that's struggling to survive) while remaining inside the guidelines. Most sf stories are pretty open on the subject.
  2. Let me see if I can recall without having to turn my desktop on: - 7 on the Hardihood on Moho - 6 on Feather Base on Gilly - 1 on Eve - 7 on the Yonder-8 - 5 on the Stiffy-1 - 5 on the Zonkers (going to Jool) - 17 on the Longburn (going to Laythe) So... 46 kerbals? That's enough characters to keep everyone entertained, hopefully!
  3. Bad news, everybody! This weekend's chapter has been postponed for reasons of: labirynthitis. Playing KSP right now makes me feel sicker than an epileptic child watching Pokemon. I'll be back to our normal programming when my internal SAS starts working again. Thanks for the patience!
  4. @SinBad on the tangent: And back on topic, yeah, I think there's a small Baxter influence on Plan Kappa, which is probably one of the reasons why the story's doomsday scenario is so darn complicated.
  5. Hey, thanks a lot! It's always good to addict earn new readers! As for the centrifuge train, I was going to address it eventually - even if I can't think of a way to do it on KSP, the concept would at least get a mention whenever the kerbs on Gilly get around to work on the issue, which will probably only happen on vol. 3. Robinson's Mars trilogy is one of the main inspirations for this comic, along with the 2001: a Space Odissey series and a few other books.
  6. Walt definitely shoul do more musical interludes, that was absolutely perfect! And I don't know why, but the Derpstar reminds me of a Wolkswagen Beetle...
  7. I'm pretty sure nobody on Kerbin is worried about stocks right now, because they're all running and screaming "the sky is falling!"
  8. We'll be back to Jeb on the next chapter. Honestly, I still don't know if he's going to make it... That's the random name generator for you... But then again, the whole plot about Stelrine and Stelgy being the same person from different timelines emerged from that kind of thing, so it's pretty possible Kenbo is an alternate Kenlie... Too bad he's gone... Actually, the entire Mun exploded, it's just that one side exploded more than the other. Photoshop. The last pic is in fact a composite image made from two other explosions on the Launch Pad. We'll find out what happened to Stelrine before the end of the second volume, I promise. More than a couple, but not much more... Yes you did. Have a cookie. I don't have a cookie emoticon, though.
  9. Personally I don't mind, but you might end up with a lot of people making comparisons... Well, on another note, I finally finished chapter 38. It was the hardest chapter to do, and the one with the biggest-- oh, you better check it out yourselves:
  10. Hey, folks! Just want to give you a heads up. I was planning on releasing another chapter this weekend, but I was pretty overworked this week and need a break from the computer. I'll have some free time on monday, but I won't make promises. This next chapter will take a lot of work, and I may need more time.
  11. They're fine, sleeping away all their worries in their long hibernation. I think there's a course correction planned for 50 days or so, but they're still at less than half of the way to Jool by now.
  12. Great chapter! I'm very curious to see where this "space paranoia" is leading to, but I'm also really enjoying the dispute. What's next for team Jeb. Will Bill grow a mustache to beat Bob's new hair?
  13. While I appreciate the sentiment, it's better to just let the story develop as planned. I think the readers will feel cheated if a comic that was advertised as about the end of the world doesn't have the world ending in it. To be honest, I can't wait to blow up Kerbin. I'll have a lot less moving pieces to worry about, and not only the story, but also my game, will run smoothlier. Of course, the story doesn't end with the end of the world. That's just the begin. I have ideas for at least 5 or 6 volumes of Plan Kappa.
  14. If only Mort had thought of that, before he sold the KSC shares... But then again, the technological development in Plan Kappa S.A.V.E. isn't that advanced. They just invented e-mail to send messages between ships, and never heard of social networks or crowdfunding. Maybe a telethon?
  15. Yes, she has a unique head texture, like a few other characters (you already met the gray-haired Dr. Adner). I don't think they're worried, since Johnsen and the Cabal aren't at all interested in Plan Kappa and its bases and ships.
  16. I'm still dealing with the fact that @Kuzzter is a cool space pirate and I'm the guy that makes ladders. Well, at least I have an evil laugh...
  17. Bill must be really proud of KSS Intrepid. He looks way happier than everybody else on that last panel!
  18. Thanks everyone for the comments! I'm really glad I was able to publish the chapter this morning, 'cause I had a frantic day and tomorrow won't be different. My vacations are officially over now, but I'll keep doin Plan Kappa mostly during the weekends. The next chapters will be very exciting!
  19. I'm not using Remote Tech, but i think the number of vessels may have something to do with the current lag. Haven't updated anything recently, nor added any new mods. But I found out my graphics card driver wasn't up to date, so that may be partly to blame. Anyway, after my rants I cleaned my PC a bit, updated the driver and got rid of a few programs that were running in the background, and things have improved. I got only a couple of crashes to desktop, and no weird behaviour in-game. I did had to edit the persistence file to raise Yardstick Base a few meters, because it was loading underground and exploding. I think I may have the same problem with Feather Base and Bob's camp on Moho, but I can deal with those later. I managed to get everything I needed for the chapter and already made a few pages. I think I can finish it tomorrow, or Wednesday at most. I actually just realized how much I missed the fun of writing the comic, doing all those maneuvers has been such a drag...
  20. I had some free time today and thought I would managed to do the new chapter today. Silly me. The game crashed in all the ways that were famiiliar to me, and in a bunch of new others. Frames per second can be counted in one hand, for some reason (I don't even have anything with more than 300 parts, which my PC would be able to deal with easily). At one point, all my vessels were either turned inside out or squashed to one third of original height. I had a pic to show you this really strange bug, but of course after 10 tries it still keeps failing to upload to Imgur. Oh, and everything that's landed now loads 2m underground and explodes. The good news is that these bugs aren't consistent. Sometimes the game works normally, like one out of ten. So... it's not like I'm not trying, but the save is even more corrupted than it is in the story. It won't surprise me if Kerbin actually explodes as predicted. I'll keep working, but things will be slow for the foreseeable future, since I have to fire up KSP 9 times to be able to do a single scene.
