  1. I never said space was flat nor did I even mention that the alcubierre drive would work around a mass with gravity because space in that local area would be more concentrated I was merely explaining how it would work assuming space is flat is for people of medieval times
  2. damn lol, thanks anyways ill figure it out, clone of me lol I have tons of rockets
  3. thanks man this helps a ton ill keep your tips in mind I had no idea the center of thrust was supposed to be below the center of mass
  4. heres how it works from my knowledge: the ship which the warp drive is mounted does not actually move at all and will arrive at its destination with the same velocity as when it left e.g if your ship is moving 2km/s when you leave it will be moving 2km/s when you arrive. basically the concept works around harnessing the power of the expanding universe from what I know the universe is expanding at a rate of about I believe 30 billion billion times the speed of light or something like that it used to be slower but a mysterious force called dark energy stepped in and accelerated the expansion, basically this means that galaxies can also move faster than the speed of light when dark energy forces the galaxies to expand outward faster than gravity can pull them back in so they end up picking up some of that dark energy and moving outward at many times the speed of light because for a reason we haven't quite figured out yet dark energy seems to sort of defy the law that you can only go 186000miles/s. we want to find a way to utilize that concept on a spacecraft whereby the drive would expand space behind the ship and contract space in front of it moving the ship across space at many times the speed of light up to 10 times the speed of light by current calculations. right now I believe its just a matter of gathering enough energy to do so cause that seems to be how our own universe does it take a look at black holes to get a better understanding of that you may have seen Stephen hawkings video where he explains how you could travel forward in time by orbiting around a black hole. the reason for that is because if you get an orbit just above the event horizon your travelling at velocities near the speed of light and as we know when you start to get near the speed of light time slows down to prevent you from passing the limit. also the black hole has such powerful gravity that it has the ability to contract space which is definitely one of the steps involved in making a warp drive work it also means that when your orbiting a black hole technically your travelling through more space at a time its just more tightly packed. rant complete
  5. thanks for the reply but unfortunately I have tried that nothing seems to help might I also mention problems with my existing vtol designs have developed with the recent .23 update (have no idea why) that's why I had to start over im usually relatively good at designing planes :/. btw are you scott manley?
  6. im trying to build a vtol in ksp and it seems impossible literally no matter what I do its either doing a flip of death forward or backward I distribute the center of mass, lift, and thrust perfectly in the center of the craft while the vtol engines go on the opposite sides of the center of mass like would be expected I even distribute the weight perfectly down to the 1/100th of a pound its really frustrating because I have been at this for 12 hours now (yes I have been trying to design a plane for 12 hours don't judge me) and I really really need a vtol aircraft for some things I have been planning but even though the weight is distributed perfectly like I said down to the 1/100th of a pound most of the time I still get a flip of death forward and nothing I do seems to make it stable its either a flip of death forward or a flip of death backward if I try to add literally 1/100th of a pound to the back end its doing a flip of death backward if I remove that 1/100th of a pound it does a flip of death forward. I reeeally don't want resort to downloading a vtol I love designing my own aircraft, but could I get some tips on how to make a vtol work cause im getting ticked off lol
  7. just didn't want to ruin the channel I don't care if people hate me or not
  8. hey guys I posted my very first ksp (and very first youtube) video on my friends channel a while back here: me and him are making vids for the channel this one in my opinion kinda sucks but it was ok. what im wondering is do you think I should start a series I have lots of things I can do to get things up and running and the series would be lasting but im not sure about it all because if people hate it then there goes my friends channel and I don't want that to happen but I still wanna make videos for and with him, so if you can please give me some feedback I would really appreciate it thanks -noobsrtoast
  9. nice time to make some fan ware im thinkin laythe model
  10. kethane can be used to establish a structured economy on servers in KMP as well, for example: say someone wants some kethane from you or a piece of minmus for mining in your "territory" per se. you could exchange it too them for mining turf on a planet or moon they're currently mining on. It sounds silly but I've heard players can get pretty defensive over their kethane stocks even if they're trying to claim the whole planet for themselves. another thing kethane could be used for is to establish colonies on another planet, you could make it so you don't have to start at the space center everytime to launch a ship only to add to a for sure growing fleet. I have a prototype in working where docking ports are used to create a fully mobile off planet launch pad and tests are going well. the only thing I ever have to return to kerbin for is to launch a new vessel then that vessel can operate solely from minmus without every worrying about running out of fuel and saving a hell of a lot of fuel escaping the kerbin system in the first place. kethane has many uses
