I find that if you land on your feet and make sure you're burning the jetpack upwards as hard as you can when you do, you almost always live.

I was assuming the OP meant having the suit visibly collapse around the kerbal and have the model stop reacting to player input. Dead bodies could be an interesting addition to the game, but I'm not so sure I'd actually want to see it.

I fail to see how any spacecraft composed of baryonic matter could possibly survive a vacuum metastability event. But then again, neither could the universe, so I digress from the point of the thread.

Um. I don't think we want realistic kerbal death animations (at least I don't). The sad little gray poof is pretty euphemistic, but given what I occasionally accidentally put my kerbs through in the course of my space program, I don't think I want to see any kind of realistic injuries on them. That would detract from the humor of the game rather significantly, to say the least.

10/10 HYPETRAIIINN needs more reentry fire, but still never fails to make me awkwardly bark-laugh at very inappropriate times when I suddenly think about it.

They look like a whole bunch of big fangs. Eve monster comin'ta getcha! Perfect since they also happen to spew fire, and the purple background goes nicely with the whole monster feel. EDIT: Well, I mean their vacuum ISPs are as good as anything else non-nuclear, and they've got decent thrust too. No thrust vectoring, but adequate RCS can cover for that. If you happen to have a good way of flying an Eve lander out to Tylo, I don't see why it wouldn't work. Might be a little overkill, but I mean there's working and there's being efficient. EDIT EDIT: I'm dumb. Eve landers have PARACHUTES. Aerospikes still could work for Tylo though.

Granted. Your plastic has just been removed from its liquid nitrogen bath, and becomes lots of tiny bits on contact with the ground! Why did you want frozen plastic anyway? I wish I was good at writing music.

Eve-return landers are terrifying. I haven't really tried lately to get anyone back off of Eve, but those ships people make with hundreds of aerospikes certainly match the Eve aesthetic rather well IMO.

Made a new transit vehicle (with some sweet stage separation): Then I did a mission to the Vallhenge (which went swimmingly): And a mission to Eeloo (which was an ongoing train wreck of horribly-botched maneuvers, yet I somehow managed to make it down to the surface in one piece): So, that done, I went home and messed about with some U-2oid powered gliders with Pwings/B9 and FAR. Planes with gigantic wingspan are so much fun but are very hard to land when you forget the speed brakes.

At first, my reaction was what it normally is when someone suggests making other media based on a game, "oh god no". But then I remembered the "You Ain't Going Home" song that one guy did, and also what musicals are usually actually like, and I bet this community could write some pretty delightful lyrics. I have no singing talent and will be too busy with college to do much for this I'm afraid, but I really hope it takes off!
