What did you name your first rocket?
Odo replied to Spacewalking on Sunshine's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Skip Mk 1. The idea of the namings of my rockets was to give them a variation of the verb "jump". So the first one was skip, 2nd one was hop, 3rd was jump, etc. and the last and biggest being Leap. -
Have you ever had a non-intentional collision in orbit?
Odo replied to PTNLemay's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Ive been hit by space debris twice. Ive got over 600 pieces of debris all in an 80km x 80km orbit, which is my standard parking orbit, so its not TOO unlikely for me. The first time was a trip to the mun, I wasnt doing a parking orbit instead just launching straight up at the right time, as I passed into the 80km range a piece of debris came whizzing by and smashed into my escape tower, ripping it off and adding to the debris. Luckily the escape tower wasnt vital and the mission was a success. 2nd time was I was deorbiting a capsule that was docked at my station, and about 30 seconds after my deorbit burn I was nailed by a decoupler which completely obliterated Jeb. -
The goo container has to be recovered. An alternative is transmitting your science results.

Asparagus question from a nerd...
Odo replied to paradoxh's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
You dont have to use asparagus staging, I personally dont like to I've landed on Duna, Eve, Mun, Minmus, and Ike all without asparagus staging, try pancake staging. Its better looking and more realistic -
That's what I've ended up doing Thanks
-
Yeah, but due to the design of this lander 2 could not fit anywhere... Unless I did radial structure points (or whatever those things are called ) which might cause problems with symmetry whilst feeding the fuel tanks into the engines. Hmm.
-
awwwww Ill have to think something else up then. Thank you! I'm thinking Im just going to add 8 of those tiny radial engines to it, Ill only activate them whilst landing and taking off, once in space Ill switch to the nuclear engine again for maximum efficiency
-
Can someone answer please?
-
Can a Nuclear engine on Duna lift a 21 ton craft? I dont know the equation for such a question so Im hoping one of you might be able to answer, its to see if my lander will even be able to take off again. Thanks!

What mod is giving your kerbals different colored helmets?
-
Are you holding down shift in order to throttle the engines up? I made the same mistake with my first liquid engines. I had no idea a throttle was required.

4th Hell Kraken post Ive seen within the past few days. Its a normal known bug, no reason to make a post over it.

Surface samples would make so much more sense now if we take into account the planned resources. And now that I know where some good resources are, I can bookmark them and remember for later :3 Also for anyone who is also making a rover in career mode, It is a fun challege. My Rampart Rover ended up being my favorite rover that I've ever made. It's cool what you can come up with you're limited in parts. Also my advice to anyone who is making a mun rover, give it a shell of plates like I did, front and rear bumpers, the whole deal. Also if possible those black wheels, they do best in low gravity. Because of those 2 things the Rampart is capable of driving at full speed, even when crashing at 30 m/s it comes out unscathed, no matter how many times it flips and rolls. Of course not much can withstand an 80 m/s bottom out
-
Ah. This rover was built in my first career save. This science stuff sure is fun. The mission of Rampart was to drive to a large crater 100 kms from its drop site and do some EVA science. Turns out the large crater is called "Twin Crater" and has a 2nd biome within it, a canyon. It also has some interesting surface sample results. Ill be driving to the canyon next to get some more science points before sending an unmanned lander to take Jeb back home.
-
Without rocket engines assisting you! This was done entirely with wheels and nothing else. And some scary craters. Also to give an idea as to how the rover looked before it split in half: The whole rover is reinforced with plates. THose plates can take ridiculous amounts of pounding, which is why this rover is named the Rampart. The only reason it exploded was because it was going 80+ m/s through the air after jumping off a steep crater and slammed into the ground unevenly bottoming out the wheels, which in turn blew them off, which in turn introduced the framing to the ground. Product was a split in half rover

If I succeed in this, I will uninstall the game and never play again.

Name that thing the Jackolantern. -
He is noooooot oooone of usss, he has never been one of uuss! Deception! Disgrace! Evil as plain as the scar on his face!
-
(Jeb beat the previous mun speed record of 25 m/s with his whopping 60 m/s!)
-
Currently cruising on the mun in his Rampart Rover. He's travelled 100km so far, on his quest to take eva reports and surface samples from all of the mun's major craters.
-
This is exactly how I feel. You were just given a new feature in a game. How are you complaining? So what if its not for hardcore gamers!? ITS A NEW FEATURE! A new feature that might be flawed is better then not a new feature at all.
-
Yuri Gagarin. First man in space. He had the balls.
-
that lander either only needs 4 engines or 1. not 5. Too little fuel for all those engines. Id say only the center one would be sufficient for a mun landing.

The best new lines from science you have found so far?
Odo replied to michaelphoenix22's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Actually, when I took the goo to duna, it said "THe goo has begun glowing red, very much like the planet below" -
.22 SAS is now all WIbbely Wobbly (but not timey wimey)
Odo replied to JebidiahsBigSister's topic in KSP1 Discussion
damnit> Iwas really hoping itd be timey wimey.
