Ya it was a spectacular loss. I was wondering where the goalkeeper plane was going while the laser plane charged right into the heart of the enemy team only to get decimated in round 3. Sometimes these matches are won on pure luck alone. If its any consolation, in the three pre-matches the teams were on par, with your team winning one match entirely hands down. One match went into Round 5 after two draws but the Taurus team still lost eventually though because I think the goalkeepers, though awesome in scale, do nothing at range vs other cannon or turret options, and you only have one offensive plane which once it goes down, leaves the other one defenseless if the attackers are out of missiles. In the first round I tested, but not recorded (you can't record awesome) the Wyvern and your laser plane oblierated each other at the beginning. Leaving the little david Swift vs your goliath goalkeeper Taurus. Your plane chased the Swift all over, and several times the little swift did circles around your Taurus dodging everything your plane threw at it proving that big goalkeepers are not a guaranteed win. The Swift swerved in and out plinking away, ripping off a tail here, a wing there until your Taurus was stripped down just two wings, a rudder, and maddening thrust. Your Taurus chased the escaping Swift at mach 2 well into the island chain, with the little Swift eventually bringing your Taurus down with reverse fire of his little turrets finally knocking out both of your wings. The Swift, not used to long fights, ran out of fuel! You continued to still fire at him though as your plane fell all the way down to the ocean, just 500m away, and took out one of the Swift's control surfaces before your Taurus took to splashing into oblivion, and it was then the Swift glided all the way into a crash landing into the second small island in the chain, exploding on impact. An absolutely freaking amazing draw.

Holy goal keepers. And lasers too? Longest match recording EVER. That and a few spectacular mid air collisions before 3rd round start. Heh. Who came out on top? Ran this match three times on twitch, only to have twitch mute my audio for music. argh. Second match was a different result, but to stay true to the first match since it was technically legal, I ran this third match which came out with the same result as the first muted one, this time with a round 3....er 3a, 3b, and 3c... heh. Those lasers. Man. Amazing to see them target missiles... STILL ATTACHED TO ANOTHER PLANE! Is taht even legal? heh. creative tactic to target both missiles and planes that happen to get in the way. Ha. man I love this challenge. and with that I take a small break from recording to pass matches off to @jrodriguez who will film the next few.

Is this your submission or are you holding off to submit formally your entry? You know what? You're right. This has exploded in greater popularity than I imagined. Heh. I think we should move to more match processing. I send you and @jrodriguez a pm. I'll be recording @gag09 and @drtricky tonight, but the winner of that match I've offered to @jrodriguez to record, and any others in line after that - as many as he'd like to process until I return to recording Saturday night. Follow up over PM to let me know if you're available for processing matches next week. Everyone: in light of the match load (no pun intended), I will not be requiring match hosts to add music to the matches. If a match is disputed, I will act as final judge. If a round or entire match needs re-done as a result, any available match host will run the round again, or if requested by either contestant, I will run the round myself. New Rules Change: To make it easier for match hosts to not make a mistake and forget to toggle your ECM, all contestants using ECM must now program their staging action group to enable ECM so when your plane is manually staged by the match host, ECM is enabled. Please add a power source to prevent it from going off while idle on the runway. If your ECM is ever turned off due to power loss, it will not be considered the fault of the match host.

Never underestimate the ingenuity of determined challengers. This outta be fun to see what evolves.

As King of the Hill, only AI changes permitted. Everyone else, anything, including and up to new craft. So yes.
-
Yes it counts as an illegal modification for the King. Only AI changes are permitted to the King. Everyone else is permitted any kind of changes just before their match vs the current King of the Hill.

[1.10.1+] Contract Configurator [v1.30.5] [2020-10-05]
inigma replied to nightingale's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Thanks. I'll raise an enhancement too. Something worthwhile to test for sure. 1.1 isn't out yet, but when it goes gold I'll be jumping into GAP again and I think this would really make GAP behave more like a real challenge - in that if you do something to your craft that makes it no longer in existence, but doesn't fail the contract, for the contract to reset itself (rather than have the player cancel it and refresh contracts).- 5,206 replies

[1.10.1+] Contract Configurator [v1.30.5] [2020-10-05]
inigma replied to nightingale's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Quick question, is there a way to reset all VPG parameters of a contract when a specific vessel is recovered prematurely, forcing players to redo the contract parameters again?- 5,206 replies

Done! And your videos are getting better. Have you tried BD dogfight mode on the Camera Tools yet? I find if you engage it, it causes canons to unpredictably not operate until you toggle BD menu or the GUI on and off again. Weird. I might just record without chase mode next match since it was sooooo close. Next recording tonight hopefully - the third and final round between Redshift OTF and gag09! This time with MK theme to avoid the bug noid. Time to see if a new King takes the hill tonight.

The first real challenge to the Stealth Weasel's reign... game bugged in the climax of the third round. Maybe because I needed to do the Mortal Kombat theme. heh. Stay tuned.

Let's just say I had to run this match about 9 times, most of them buggy. Sometimes I forgot to enable ECM, other times I didn't but weird stuff would happen like plane collisions, and my fav, teleporting Aim 120s right into the heart of your enemy. In the um... third round I had to take over and make the match start manually myself. Argh. @BahamutoD feel free to watch the fun. But the results in this match are the same no matter how I ran it overall. So, I give you the best match of them all in terms of hilarity, with near equal results in the matchup.

I've noticed a possible bug with Camera Tools BD AI target mode, in that when I enable it, or change camera to another fighter, it tends to disable guns on all AI craft controlled by BDA, until I either toggle the GUI via F2 or hit the BDArmory GUI button on the toolbar on. Some more bug testing this will require, for sure. Anyone else able to replicate this?

Draw. Unless the out of fuel plane can be flown by the host (me) to a landing on any kind on the island.

Im aware of it. Thanks. I was looking at a stock option. The GAP contract pack has an amazing stock carrier I've tested. I just need to figure out how to force BDA to recognize approaching vessels from 10km away for competition launch. btw, no one's commented on the new logo. thoughts? courtesy of @YargJay9991

In two rounds of testing the Stealth Weasel vs my Papa 1's, the remaining Weasel ran out of fuel for an easy kill.

Remember, the aim of ASC is to test the limits of BDA OP. I don't think the Stealth Weasels represent a convergence yet. I think we're only seeing the beginning of this evolutionary tree, and I want to encourage more unconventional designs. My Phantom being one of them. This distinctively makes ASC Kerbalized. For now ASC Series I will continue to run with the current rules in the OP, requiring manned Kerbals, and only 2v2. Once 1.1 is released, and BDArmory updated, ASC will close out Series I and open Series II where KOTH may run 3v3 depending on well such can be handled, and may be opened to include non-Kerbaled vehicles, and duels over KSC Island as well as duels over KSC 2. Concerning balance between turrets, lasers, and clipping, bear in mind that current AI places a lot of limitations on what may be future exploits. Also the KSC Island runway length places limits on airplane size (and as soon as I can figure out a lag-free method of running the opposition off of an aircraft carrier, even more so). Clipping places a lot of limitations on mount area for weapons, as well as buggyness during combat. Nothing more cool than to see a challenger's missile blow himself up because he clipped it too close in competition. Heh. Since these are AI only battles, this also places limits on what can be enabled or disabled during a competition round, with the only exception currently being the host manually enabling ECM pods, which is actually more considered a bug in BDA by ASC and not a missing feature in BDA. When BDA rolls out a new AI that causes an overpowered King to take the throne (such as dual missiles/target capability, or major weapon buffs) we will consider a rules changes and thus a new Series. But the spirit of ASC is to push the limits of what is OP and see if the community can come up with an AI-flyable solution to take it down.

No restrictions gentlemen except what is in OP. Kerbals still required though to win. Miniaturization comes at a cost.
