Oh wow. Gotta try this with the STS.
-
ooh presents. I like presents. checking it out now. - - - Updated - - - Naito class boosters. Nice. Trying to fly it to orbit though. No luck yet. I only experimented with six boosters, not eight. hmmm... let's see what they can do. I tried clusters of 6 solids, various weights. Even edited craft file. - - - Updated - - - FYI, this was my attempt last night at solids. Can't quite make orbital... maybe I need to actually add moar boosters eh? - - - Updated - - - alright you guys have convinced me to go for 8 boosters...

Solids and the STS Fuel Pod cargo does not equal orbit. No matter how I try to hack it. I've counted 12 plus hours working on solids so far. Argh. Everything else works. If you want solids for everything else, I can do that, but it really would break the aesthetics flow and limit the loading of absolutely anything that can fit in the shuttle bay. Nuts. A technical challenge that seems insurmountable given current stock parts. I welcome anyone to try making solids for this shuttle capable of lifting the STS Fuel Pod cargo in one go, and empty cargo bay in another. I'm about ready to declare it impossible without inventive secondary booster staging, game file hacking (didn't work anyways), or a massive redesign that is not backwards compatible with an empty cargo bay liftoff.

When sharing a video here, please include your craft's forum thread link. This is required. This is after all, a video catalog of crafts available on the Spacecraft Exchange. Have fun watching what others have made, and then go fly them yourself! I will be linking this in the Showcase Master Thread (see link in my sig). Videos without either a forum thread/post link or craft download link should be shunned and authors pestered until they provide one. Please try to limit multiple videos for a single craft to a single post, but you won't be shunned if you break this tradition. Here's one of mine for starters. Forum Thread: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/108219-STS-1-Space-Shuttle-%28NASA-Replica-Easy-to-Load-Fly%29-Launch-Full-O-Y-Tanks-to-Orbit-CRAFT-UP!

I've got the computer, setup, etc, just no time. Was thinking such a show would be limited to cameo clips of objects in flight, crashing, and general no-holds-barred review, maybe 5 minutes or less, mixing in a few movie quotes and music themes to add to the comedy, along with a standout of the week - about 2 minutes showing off the reviewer's best liked craft.

Our grandparents had model trains. We have Kerbal Space Program!

You know, the size of the Space Shuttle was determined by the size of train tunnels (which were determined by the size of horses abreast of each other. ) So Western Cowboy Train Riding Kerbal Space Program ftw? -
Zephyr STS II-Stock Space Shuttle

Lol. Zekes. -
Very nifty! Can you rotate the docking port window to top like it is on the STS Operations module? Be sure to lock or empty those fuel tanks else one could accidentally light the SSMEs during an operation. Once done post new pic of it in orbit (fly it to test that it works with the STS) like the other subs in the OP and post the updated sub link and pic here and I'll post it to the OP. Great job!

I use OBS exclusively. A most excellent choice. You need to add the ksp.exe to its source list, then make sure its checked before recording. You do this with KSP running first, then right click source pane, add, window capture I think. Youtube vids will show u how.

Stock-only NASA replica fleet, FAR and MechJeb compatible
inigma replied to Naito's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Nice job. Was just working on a set of boosters myself. Was trying to avoid 6 solids but it looks like I may have to...again convergence. I haven't tested, but can your boosters accelerate your shuttle enough to boost the STS Fuel Pod subassembly I published on kerbalx, and thus make orbit above 200k? -
Looking forward to it! - - - Updated - - - A bit tricky since the wings are attached to the cargo bay in three sections. Its doable but if its passengers you want, Jack is right. Just stack crew containers inside. Maybe its just me but a shuttle with passenger windows looks odd. Maybe for an SSTO spaceplane, but not a space shuttle. You are welcome to modify of course. I designed the STS Space Shuttle to be modular...via subassemblies in the bay. I didn't think of making the bay itself modular. Would require a redesign. Maybe when 1.0 rolls out? If you make a practical or cool looking passenger subassembly, post a pic and craft file so I can share it on the subassembly list.

Nice. Wait until you get bored and realize what can be done with the Claw. -

Heh. I've seem to have dated myself. I'm in my 30s. I remember Thundercats, He-Man...and Challenger. My uncle had an Atari with pong. Kids played outside more then. I wish I had KSP back then though... ...and I have an N scale RR picked out when my kids grow older. -

Who said anything about worse? Though life Before KSP (BKSP) at best could offer Orbiter, or that moon landing game. -
