  1. If we do get in-game achievements, I want there to be an office for you (the player) where you can go in and see plaques on the wall for the milestones you have achieved.
  2. down the road this is what I'm hoping Unity 5 lets them do -better lighting -maybe some better looking water -VR support, Exploring the mun or leaving orbit in VR would be amazing
  3. Yeah it's getting pretty annoying to see some of the reactions. It's almost like they don't want what we know to change, which seems to defy they point of being a scientist. Than again this isn't the first time scientists have said stupid stuff. I'm looking at you cell theory! P.S Plot twist, they're all afraid of going back to university and retaking physics to keep their PhD's valid
  4. It's the first place I heard about it working. back to the drive itself. I wonder, if we had a bigger drive with enough thrust for a manned spaceship, maybe a mass driver could be used to launch it into space.
  5. Take that physics and your laws http://www.ign.com/articles/2015/07/28/impossible-em-propulsion-engine-confirmed-by-scientists?utm_source=IGN%20hub%20page&utm_medium=IGN%20(front%20page)&utm_content=20&utm_campaign=Blogroll and for those who want the more wordy and scientific article http://arc.aiaa.org/doi/abs/10.2514/6.2015-4083
  6. If the dev notes this week aren't the "stop letting Jeb fly" edition I'm going to be severely disappointed
  7. using roman numeral 1 in the title but no phantom menace joke? I expect more from you squad.
  8. Maybe I'm just doing something really stupid I'm overlooking but the game refuses to let me do an orbital survey of Kerbin I'm playing in sandbox. built my rocket with a scanner, put it up in orbit and every time I try to do a scan it says "You must be in a stable polar orbit between 60km and 1500km" do the conversions and(side note could we have the message in meters and not kilometers to just make it a little easier?) 60km=60,000m and 150km=150,000m. Well my craft has a periapsis of 90,956m and apoapsis of 138,879m and I'm still getting the message I need to be within 60km and 150km relevant pictures http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=434456263 http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=434456243 http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=434456231
  9. I nominate Jeb to blow the computer side note: these IVA's are just begging to be walked/floated around in.
  10. I think the game looks fine. But some more terrain decoration would be great, and maybe some better lighting, but you'd need to wait for unity 5 for that.
  11. Gotta say, now that i think about it more. Squad could probably make a really good city simulation game. Imagine the advice your advisers would give xD
  12. I'm pretty sure squad doesn't have nearly enough resources to do their own version of spore
  13. I don't think KSP can happen on console simply because of control limitations. I can't imagine anyone building a rocket using a PS4 or Xbox controller
  14. (being half serious here) making other games from other genre's using kerbals. a Kerbal FPS, city builder, strategy game.
  15. several things 1) Whats wrong with a lack of victory conditions? Last time i checked city simulations and games like the sims have done fine without them. 2) Could you be more specific on what purpose parts are? 3) What else are they supposed to do? 4) Not really, I'm running it on a mid-range laptop and it works just fine. It's not nearly as bad as it used to be with ocean lag, unless your talking about mid end with mods. Also the devs are upgrading to unity 4.6(i bellieve it's .6) with the official release so that should help a bit. 5) could you be specific on what the memory leaks are exactly? I've never had any issues with memory.
  16. Now I'm sure that everyone here has heard of the Oculus Rift, if you haven't congratulations on coming out from under that rock. It's already going to get support with the unity engine, and that can be great for game stuff like IVA's If the devs wanted to do it. But Oculus recently made an acquisition that could be fantastic for the game, Nimble VR. What Nimble VR does is basically hand motion tracking. So you could have on a VR headset, move your hands around IRL and than your hands move around in the game, and this could be fantastic for IVA's. Just imagine a fully intractable cockpit where you can flip all those buttons and switches and really feel like your controlling your spaceship. And in addition you could than fly around in EVA with virtual reality using your hands to grab onto the jetpack controls. Obviously the Oculus RIft is ages away, but it's just some ideas i wanted to throw out there.
  17. should have called this the "NASA let Jeb fly" edition
  18. If one is ever done i want it to be a kerbal version of space odyssey
  19. screenshots of the new airport the whole place has an abandoned look to it now.
  20. The island airport got an updated model!
  21. So between more biomes and whatever project they are working on where destructible buildings was the foundation of it, it looks like .26 is going to be more of a refinement update than a moving to feature complete one, personally i think that's pretty good. Hopefully they flesh out contracts a bit and add some more mission types.
  22. I don't think the devs know where they are going either really. They probably just go update to update, save a large feature like what is coming in .26 and multiplayer.
  23. 1) clouds, sound effects and IVA's would have been way more pointless to do first since none of them affect gameplay at all. 2)they didn't rip off spaceplane +, they are buying the mod from the guy who made it 3) oh yes, I'm sure someone could have modded that in. Oh wait, nobody ever has. And by that logic why add in something like FAR when there is a mod for it?
