  1. there is a large difference between LoL, CSGO, Dota2 and KSP. KSP isn't something competitive, plus not that much goes on in KSP to be interesting enough to watch someone else try and fly a rocket. Maybe if the game had more VFX and detailed terrain that would help. One thing i believe could come close is if once multiplayer releases(and assuming enough people can play at once) people streamed races. Something like building the fastest spaceplane possible to get to the arctic. But thats the most basic form of a race the game could get, with this community(mostly wackjob) imagine how convoluted it could get. Flying a plane to the artic and having to drop a rover/car on the ground and than racing those to the goal.
  2. you know, at this point I'm expecting tonight's devnote to be the "please don't kill us it's not ready yet!" edition
  3. "how likely are we to survive?" "50%" "I like those odds" -Jeb Kerman talking to Gene kerman
  4. this means the update must be soon! Assuming that don't find any game crippling bugs.
  5. I think part of it is they don't fully know themselves what scope completion means for the game. For example it was easy for them to say "lets add resources!" and upon testing found that the system they had worked horribly. They probably just want to take it one step at a time figuring out what does and doesn't work. Also nice military code
  6. aloh, omallem 56ecayks. yos nu cilohabrek
  7. that's being developed alongside the game and is unaffected by whatever gets added next, in fact I'm not even sure if devoting other devs to it would increase productivity that much since we don't know how many of them besides the current MP dev know net code.
  8. basically the title says it all, what do you want the devs to work on after .24? and no, resources are not an option because that's a matter of when the devs find a good way to do it, not taking the time to implement it, explanation of all the poll options Refinement of carer mode-basically another .23, refine some stuff with maybe a few new features. Aerodynamics/space planes-rework aerodynamics to behave more realistically, some new space plane parts and interiors detail update-add some small details here and there, some new animations(ex digging a sample), terrain detail, effects, tweak some stuff, biomes, basically a bunch of small additions and not necessarily only or all of what i listed base/station update- add features for things stations, satellites and bases can be used for new planets- new planetary bodies or maybe a solar system rocket parts-just an update to refine and create rocket parts(non space plane stuff) other-post in the thread what you would like to see
  9. no it's not that, the performance increase for me was in-flight as well as using the camera at the space center, where the joint physics wouldn't matter.
  10. I don't know what the devs did but all of my lag from moving the camera(I'm on a lower end system) is completely gone
  11. for those of you living under a rock in fear of your kerbals rocket crashing onto you. one of the big things with the asteroid mission pack is a robotic arm needed to grab onto the Asteroid. I'm thinking, what if we could use it on a rover to gather surface samples?
  12. KSP is about running a space program. and part of running a space program includes landing on and colonizing other planets. what your suggesting with colonies being just hand placed buildings is more like sim city than what I'm suggesting with just standard fixed upgrades to the colony. and if you don't want to launch from other planets, than just don't. nobody would be forcing you to.
  13. we all know the devs will have considered it and said if it was done it would be in an expansion pack. but i just wanted to get some of my ideas out on how I think it should be done. how to set up a colony. basically the way it would work is you would have to land 3 ships (or 1 ship with 3 command/crew modules) in the same area. if they are close enough an option appears to turn the 3 into a colony. the first level would just be a small base in the ground not that big. think, the top of an air traffic controll tower in the ground how to increase the size to increase the size of a colony you would need to land more ships near the colony. you would than get a certain amount of metal and fuel after cannibalizing a ship. that metal would than be used to buy upgrades or new buildings to the colony. and later on metal would be used to create spaceships directly from your colony. the fuel would be used later for refueling ships on a landing strip my basic idea of how you advance the whole system would work similar to the tech tree for science we have now. you move up the tree buying new buildings/upgrades for your colony with metal. these are my basic ideas of buildings that would be bought and what they would do basic colony(level1) what you start out with after cannibalizing your ships. lights upgrade(level 2) your colony now has lights! so it's easier to land at it in the dark rover vehicle bay(level 2) using some leftover metal you can now create a rover and drive out away from your colony metal mine(level 3) a basic mine for metal, starts out slow but with more upgrades it becomes faster and faster at mining for metal fuel refinery(level 3) can get fuel you need out of the ground air strip(level 3) where space planes can land and refuel (will not include hanger) colony housing(level4) gives you a constant stream of astronauts and workers for the colony(mine and refinery need workers assigned to them, more workers=faster production) it can be later upgraded to have a larger capacity space plane hanger(level4) for the production of space planes to your air strip colony VAB(level 4) for creating good old fashioned rockets science facility(level 4) allows science to be turned in at a colony, and also generates a slow stream of science points from social experiments in the colony. so that's basically my idea on how colonization should be done, any feedback would be great
  14. woah woah woah.... since when did they say they scrapped resources and interstellar travel? it's my understanding resources has been put on hiatus so they can focus more on career(not thrown away), and interstellar travel was never confirmed from what i know.
  15. stargates wouldn't work. forget the physics, your saying to add it instead of FTL or some kind of wormhole. the whole reason people want that is so that you don't take forever getting to and from differnt star systems. this would just be sending out multiple ships, which would take forever(not even counting time needed to align orbits for docking), just for access to ONE solar system.
  16. add line of sight but also allow us to send up satellites to get around that. so for instance you land on the far side of the mun, you can than transmit the data through a satellite that has line of sight to you and kerbin
  17. yes i was just thinking of something like this I'd love to be able to review my past experiments and information gathered. though i think it would work better if it was in the R and D building instead of the tracking station. I'm thinking another tab that you click on. than you click on what planets experiments you want to review. than it brings up a list of all your experiments/reports/samples. once you have that you can filter out the list even more by clicking on tabs for crew reports/EVA reports/surface samples/ and experiments based on the module used.
  18. so as of right now space stations and satellites don't have that much of a use for science so i came up with an idea. first of all, it would need a camera for a probe to take pictures of other planets for research points and be able to send that back as data. now what I'm thinking is, the farther away from kerbin a probe is the longer it takes to receive the science points and the less you get due to transmission decay. but if you have satelites or stations with antenas on them you can set them up to run constantly as relays to intercept data from probes, and the more you have between kerbin and the probe the less decay there is. just a basic idea
  19. agreed. i hope thats one of the ways to earn money in career mode is launching a satellite into space(with solar panels)
  20. harvestR said he didn't want to do something like that because science would just turn into a time warp grind. i think on thing that should be done with space stations is reward you with more science the larger it becomes
  21. if you don't want auto updates than just disable them in the options
  22. as a student in a US high school i can agree. the way we learn and what we learn is ridiculously outdated. now some of this may come off as whiney "I hate this class!" but please hear me out -the biggest problem across the board and especially in ELA, is essays. yes writing is important, but there are much better and more aplicable ways to teach it. the only time we ever need to write an essay IRL is on a college aplication and during college till you graduate. something much better and more interesting would be writing a book, or a fake article about something and doing research. both of those teach writing and would actually be usefull past college. -math, there is so much wrong with the fact that everyone is requiered to learn algebra and even harder math even though the majority of us will not need it in life. and the teaching methods as well for algebra really need to change, thankfully i had a good teacher who showed us some non standard methods with problems that normally arn't taugh and it helps a ton -science, why is physics requiered? I really wish i could elaborate more but simply, it's not something everyone needs to learn. chemistry needs updated teaching methods. -foreign language, again the main problem is just how requiered it is. if your good at in than fine keep taking the course, but people who don't get the launguage shouldn't be forced to take the class because if we are doing bad it clearly we won't pick a career choice thar requiers it. and it's not a must have everyday life skill. also the technology used for teaching isn't updated nearly enough, mainly computers. right now for my school it isn't so bad. but the stuff is starting to get outdated, especially software. though it's better than our last computers that lasted until i was in middle school. I kid you not they were running on windows NT. there just needs to be better more fun ways of teaching things. hell i learned a ton of history just from playing age of empires 2.
