True but the only issue is also getting the balance correct. I almost have the probe sized part done. Then i am doing tech tree integration for the subs. -

Currently doing final testing on the new probe sized air envelope (adjusting nodes, mass/lift balance, etc) Drone is currently on hold for the moment while I figure out engines. -

So I am finishing the Drone Airship as well as the probe sized Air Envelope and need a beta tester or two. Also with the new crew system built into the game I will not be updating HL's mod that filled your ship with crew as that is now obsolete. -

Alright So I almost have the part done for a new Probe sized Airship Envelope. I have the model complete, just need to get the nodes placed right. In other news the Drone Blimp is on hold until I can figure out how to do engines in Unity. -

Of course. The tail will contain a battery pack and small RTG generator. -

Alright so here is the thing. I've been looking at the drone and working to add engines to it but have hit one big issue. If I make it all as one unit it will be difficult if not impossible to give it twin engines and still keep the CoM and CoT aligned. So I have decided to make it into a four part balloon: A Float Core, Science Nose, Power Core in the Tail, and separate engines. So it will end up in five pieces but just four parts added to the game. -

Sure I could make both but honestly with this only being my second model done in Unity I wanted to stick to simple and easy. I'll make more modern ones later i suppose. -

Ok so here is the thing. I have the model for the Drone Finished. I still need to balance it out some seeing as the weight is still set to 0.1 which is a REALLY low mass... >.> HOWEVER! I have tested it on Duna and it will easily hold at 5km as you can see here Now this still lacks the engines and science features but I am willing to put it out there as a beta test item for anybody interested in it. -

I agree that it would be neat but honestly it is a bit too high poly count at the moment and is FAR more complex to model than I am able to do. I still haven't decided on a name yet but the balloon does work. -
