Name: Billy-Bobford Kerman Quote: "Always remember, if the bottom part of your rocket is pointing towards space, you will not go to space today." (Inspired from The "Up Goer Five" xkcd)

How about the biggest steam locomotive on the planet that still exists? (google Big Boy 4014)

Putting the snacks away from the kerbal. IE: Putting it on top of an BACC SRB and launching it into a "kerbolecentric" orbit. How would you fly a rocket without any probe core, command pod, or the like?

The one thing that really grinds your gears.
mythbusters844 replied to Mercy's topic in Forum Games!
What really grinds my gears? When I forget to press the clutch when I shift gears. In all seriousness: When someone constantly bugs me for help when they can easily use the computer right in front of them. Or, when the answer is just obvious. -
Do you have setimental attachments to inanimate objects?
mythbusters844 replied to NASAFanboy's topic in The Lounge
All my stuffed animals, but three in particular are welded to my heart with such a strong bond that no strut stitching can match. One is an Angry Birds red bird plushy, the second is a bunny I got during a dentist appointment when I was 6 or so, and a third is a teddy bear that my brother was given when he was one. And every single Kerbal. Seriously, I was considering not buying the game because I couldn't imagine those guys dying . But I bought it anyways Probably my Saturn V model too, and a SCA model I got at Dryden. And my model trains. And maybe this paper house I made in 7th grade as applying the skills we learned that year to the real world. Meh -
I remember I was one on a game-that-shall-not-be-named (M....oh I can't..) server and I was banned for "Xraying You Freaking Noob" when I only went in the middle of a river and dug straight down a few meters. It's actually quite humorous

How many Kerbals do you have in need of rescuing?
mythbusters844 replied to Fenris's topic in KSP1 Discussion
None for me either. My only interplanetary mission to Duna was successful. But I have had to rescue some Kerbals before. I remember I was in low Kerbin orbit, testing three drop pods (Jeb already tested one and it worked perfectly) and was just about to test the next one, when I accidentally jettisonned the capsule from the engine. So, I had Bill and Bob stranded in the three man capsule in orbit around Kerbin. Rescuing was a breeze. Rendezvoused, and with no need to dock, I EVA'd Bob and Bill to the rescue ship. But I made sure to label the old capsule as "Stranded capsule that was saved" and marked it as debris. Pretty fun to rescue Kerbals -
Long March 9 more powerful than Saturn V?
mythbusters844 replied to czokletmuss's topic in Science & Spaceflight
Liftoff thrust doesn't matter much. The Energia had a bit more liftoff thrust than the Saturn V, but 20 metric tons less payload to orbit. It's like strapping on more Mainsails to your first stage and adding a bit more fuel, or seriously adding MOAR BOOSTERS. It would be awesome to have another space race -
This is probably a weird thing to wonder but...
mythbusters844 replied to rewdew2's topic in The Lounge
I remember when a member of this one community I was in who was really nice and known by the administrator just left without any trace. I seriously thought that he was dead, until one year later he reappeared and said that his computer broke, then left. Really creepy thing really... I hope I can sleep tonight -
A Historical Account of your Space Program
mythbusters844 replied to mangekyou-sama's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Day 1: The (insert cool acronym here, hey, the ICAH!) begins plans on an orbital 1 Kerbal rocket. Day 2: ICAH launches a totally overpowered rocket for it, and succeeds. Week 1: 1 in 3 attempts at a geostationary satellite fail, until the tenth attempt works. Week 2: Three kerbal orbit! Week 3: An attempt at a Mun landing; all 20 launches explode. Project canceled. (Didn't know of the N1 at the time either) Week 10: After the disastrous Mun landing attempts, the ICAH launches a space probe to Duna and Jool. Year 1: The Jool probe and Duna probe provided valuable info., but the Duna probe couldn't be tracked due to an "End Flight" error. Year 1, Week 3: Attempt at docking is successful Y1, W5: Orbital space station starts construction Y1, W10: Space station complete with 4 kerbals, orange tank, etc. Y1, W21: Using the same heavy lift rocket that brought the orange tank to the space station, a Mun mission is planned. Total success, including the M.O.R. Y1, W26: Another Mun landing with a smaller but more efficient rocket. Y2, W2: Duna mission successful, landing successful, return successful. Bill, Heb, and Bob are honored. The dates aren't totally true, but the events are. I also left out a few events, but I was tired -

I usually just put random names that mean exactly what I'm doing, like, for example, "Rover + Skycrane KAS TO DUNA". I basically adapted a KAS winch into the stock Rover + Skycrane (The first attempt at landing failed as I hit the wrong button to separate; the second time was a success and I landed the skycrane "for the lolz", which then decided to randomly explode. I then accidentally ran a piece of skycrane debris over with the rover, and it was obliterated. I hadn't laughed so hard in years ) Sometimes I put slightly creative names, such as MOOOOOOOO for a moon rocket, but most of the times, I use the above method.
