  1. Rows said in KSPTV chat that it was NOT going to be the CustomBiomes mod, but someone else who was helping them with the biomes. Whether that's another mod or just someone they picked up, I don't know. My top hopes personally would either be Kerbal Alarm clock or some sort of station parts, but we'll see what we get, I guess.
  2. Probably my first time trying to go to Moho, and I took nowhere near enough fuel and just flew by without hardly making a dent. Really showed me just how hard it can be to properly stop a probe at a planet, given that the only planets I had been to at that point were Duna and Eve, where I could aerobrake
  3. Well, I don't know if the nut has been cracked as much as shoehorned in, but it's an interesting (and very buggy, I might add) mod. I'm interested to see how it ultimately gets implemented in the game itself, though.
  4. Heh there was someone on gawker (I think) complaining about how it showed how much space junk NASA was leaving behind, and I had to explain to him that there was likely little - if no - space junk left behind because most of it either de-orbited before the ship got a full orbit or came in with the capsule. Either they gave up arguing or they finally got it . But yeah, there are a lot of misconceptions about stuff like this.
  5. Probably literally the only thing that would cause Squad to change engines is if Unity shut down completely, and even then they would probably just stick with the current engine. Changing engines would essentially mean having to re-do the entire game from what it sounds like.
  6. I wonder if things like contract time limits could be made a difficulty setting like science/money/reputation. Some of the time limits on the contracts are long, but I'm also saying this as someone who can complete most of them in a snap. I mean, planting a flag on Duna may be an eternity for me NOW. It may very well not have been a year ago. But yeah, it would be nice for there to be a way to scale those time scales to put the pressure on players who want that.
  7. Hooray! I hated the fact that I would go to the tracking center (I assume this applies there too?) and had to disable flags every time I went in there, heh. OOOOOO. I'll have to check that one out. I didn't realize it was that heavy but yay. I love the Cupola (who doesnt? )
  8. god I read that and destroyed my face smashing it against a door. to each their own I guess. I just feel that just because he wants to play orbiter on hard mode doesn't mean he has to thrust it upon everyone else. The game is supposed to be hard, not necessarily NASA in real life. While I wouldn't mind some of those things eventually being added in as difficulty settings (which is what I see he suggests as well), I don't think many, if any, of those are pressing matters. The game is supposed to be "educational" but one has to ask in what way. I don't think Squad ever intended the game to actually teach people to be actual rocket scientists, which is what it seems like the entire post is premised upon. One of the few things he suggests that I would agree with would be to make the tech tree easier to edit.
  9. Very large ships, but that's more of a single-threaded physics problem (which is a Unity 4 problem) more than a squad problem I think
  10. The Better SOI thing would be nice. I was trying to get back to Kerbin with limited fuel from Laythe. At first I thought I had it until a sudden run through someone's SOI that the game didn't bother telling me about completely undid a burn I had made, only to be later bailed by by Laythe ejecting me from Jool in such a way that I could get home (again, without the game telling me about it ahead of time).
  11. I have a feeling that if we're going to get into a discussion about what "looks good," a lot of people are going to get upset when Squad does the almost inevitable re-do on the looks of the rest of the parts. I mean, I get the point. I like my how my plane looks like too. But I kinda feel like this is akin to people being like "bring back the OOOOOOLLLLD rocket parts b/c they looked better!"
  12. OK. They don't look exactly the same (kinda duh). And...? I mean, is there something about how they function that suddenly makes them worse?
  13. Fix the pesky bugs where you can't click on an orbit after a burn, or can't select on your current orbit when you have two showing up due to an encounter. I know they are minor (in the sense that they're not too hard to get around) but they drive me nuts But more seriously, I'm not sure I "want" anything in the next update. I kind of have a wishlist of things, the two bug fixes above included, but there is nothing that i'm like "THEY MUST DO THIS NOW." It sounds like we'll be getting a Final Frontier-like system and new biomes in 0.26, both of which will be awesome. It would also be nice if we got some new Mk. 3 plane parts (though the last thing I saw about that made it sound like they were hedging on how soon we would get those). I'm curious as to what the feature that is taking up the art department's time up is about, and for which the code behind the destructible buildings is a base for. I suppose from a selfish modding (or self-modding) standpoint, I would love an easier way to customize the tech tree, but I have a feeling that's not a high priority thing at the moment.
  14. Don't we effectively have 5 new aileron (that's not what they're called now, but they serve the same function) parts to replace the two we lost? What am I missing?
  15. I'm not sure about that Kofeyh was streaming earlier, and physics loading slammed his ship into the launch pad at 175 m/s (according to the debug screen) so weird things can happen during physics loading. It is probably something they should address eventually, especially if people have problems launching things because physics loading is enough to blow things up...
  16. I dunno. I can find that I can do a lot more with the new parts than the old parts, not to mention they both behave better when building a plane and perform better in flight. I can see people being attached the parts the are used to, but as someone who occasionally builds planes, but doesn't do it a WHOLE lot, I already like the new parts better than the old ones, but that's just me
  17. I like the trailers, but I agree game stuff is higher priority. But I still do enjoy a good trailer. It's good for PR purposes to help get the game noticed
  18. I have blown up the VAB on the Mac so I am content
  19. I'm still getting .24.2 on Mac OS X even when I delete it and re-install it
  20. Hype train had a last second derailment before arriving at it's destination
  21. yep, same issue. on Mac OS deleted the game and re-installed and still .24.2
  22. I'm guessing the 64 bit thing just downloaded the 64 bit executable, not everything else.
  23. you mean for once the Store is ahead of steam?
