  1. Save and re-load your craft and see if the CoL is still misplaced. I'm often hitting a weird bug where moving wings/surfaces around makes the CoL display incorrectly until I save/load it.
  2. Base mass for the service module fuel tank is set to -1.
  3. This is weird: The ALCOR lander pod is massing only 132 kilograms. The RO config has it set to 2.6 tons or thereabouts, and even after I made a new .cfg that's sole purpose in life is to set the mass of that pod to 2.6 tons regardless, the part still loads with a mass of 132kg. I searched all .cfg files for the name of the part, and there's nothing else that changes the mass. Any ideas as to what might cause this behavior? Screenshot: http://i.imgur.com/g4iMT4I.jpg
  4. I've got a temporary fix for unshielded wings in my RO Fixer-Upper configs (see the temperature fix .cfg file in the RealismOverhaul/ subfolder).
  5. The ones from B9 Aerospace might work if you enable heat shielding from the tweakables menu (which... might come from another mod, but I have no idea which one...).
  6. No idea. I had to switch to indestructible buildings in sandbox mode because there doesn't seem to be a way to repair anything.
  7. So I've just discovered that the KSC only exists at the current set launching point, so my little plan to fly from one runway to another was foiled by the destination runway not existing. Is there any way to get all the launch stations to persist even when they're not the active space center?
  8. Yep. Grabbed the latest after I posted and checked again. All FS propellers show up with a thrust of 5. I'm also running RSS/RO, if that makes a difference. Which it might.
  9. I'm seeing a inaccurate CoL during construction. As seen below, the CoL is shown more rearward during construction of the wings than after loading. The CoL as shown in the second image (after loading) is the same CoL used during flight. I found this out when I went to fly a craft (not shown here) that should have been juuust stable enough to get off the runway at subsonic speeds, but instead had massive pitch instability. After reloading the craft into the SPH, the CoL was indeed shown slightly in front of the CoM, whereas during its initial construction the CoL was displayed aft of the CoL. So I'm having to constantly save and then load my craft every time I add, remove, or move wings, just so I can see where the real CoL is. This is with the latest FAR of 14.3.2.
  10. Update which? FAR? I'm running 14.3.2, and FS 6.3.5 with the .dll updated for KSP .25 as linked to in the FS discussion thread.
  11. I'm seeing a thrust of 5 on all my FS propellers as well. They seem severely underpowered.
  12. Visual example of said clipping (the plane exploded right after that second screenshot):
  13. I'll requote from the first post: ""Playing on Stock Kerbin, want "harder" / hotter reentry (i.e. faking an 8km/sec reentry)". That's as close to "real" as one can get with stock-sized Kerbin (which I do not play). I'm just saying it might be better to make the "Hard" settings for stock be set to that configuration which already exists and label it "realistic" for those who want something closer to reality. Those of us who really want realistic settings already play RSS.
  14. I meant "Realistic" in the same sense as the instructions on the front page for "Playing on Stock Kerbin, want "harder" / hotter reentry (i.e. faking an 8km/sec reentry)". I'm worried that people will see the word "Hard" and think it's unnecessarily difficult, like some sort of arbitrary "hard" setting.
  15. I second this notion. Right now, all we've got are some ramjets from TVPP. SCRAMJETs would be awesome to play around with.
  16. I'd go with Easy / Normal / Realistic, or Easy / Standard / Realistic. Maybe Easy / Default / Realistic.
  17. Fun thing about jets is that to go faster, first you have to go faster. Get to some decent altitude where you can still accelerate when flattened out. As you go faster, you'll find your acceleration increasing. Pitch up a tiny bit and keep climbing upwards w/out letting your velocity drop any. This should get you up to high altitudes at high speeds w/out having to go full afterburner.

  19. Some video cards gets twitchy with 8k-res textures, regardless of RAM and vRAM.
  20. Resize all 8K textures to 4K (eg. a maximum width/length of 4096 -- Paint.NET makes for a good free photo editing program if you're on Windows).
  21. If you're running Windows, check out Paint.NET. It's free and works well for resizing images. It's what I've been using.
  22. Realism Overhaul uses this unit definition, but it also changes the power output of solar panels (as well as battery capacities) to they're not overpowered/understoraged, respectively. Maybe use module manager's ability to detect RealismOverhaul (or lack thereof) to set the units accordingly?
  23. It's in the right-click tweakables menu, same place as where you change the size and shape type.
