Boats
Rainbow-Dashie replied to Commander Jebidiah's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
Seeing as this is Kerbal Space Program, and I'm not sure of the last time boats made a huge contribution to space exploration. I highly doubt it -
Because it's the greatest game I've played since Battlefield Vietnam.

Newest Squadcast: Highlights, lots of new info about .24
Rainbow-Dashie replied to Shuttle's topic in KSP1 Discussion
So, not only do I have to worry about the usual problems of my Rockets not working, stranded crew members, my complete inability to make efficient practical rockets, and my constant space station malfunctions... But now my failures are going to cost me Reputation!? AND MONEY!? And giant space rocks are going to collide with every single one of my ships that leaves Kerbin! (with my luck it will happen) I can't take it! It's to much! It's incredibly awesome,. but it's to much! AHHHHHHHHHHH! -
Career Mode, I've always loved the whole "start small" work your way up kind of thing. Never played creative mode in Minecraft, always had to do it the old fashion way. Of course sandbox was fun as heck when it was the only thing, but when career came out, I just liked it better.

How reliable are your rockets?
Rainbow-Dashie replied to Prince of Rockets's topic in KSP1 Discussion
My rockets work. Do they work well? No. Are they efficient? Not in any way. Are they cool looking? Not really. Are they advanced? Nope. My rockets do the job they were designed for, and thats all I ask of them -
Do a Grand Tour with a Base in an Equatorial Orbit... Sure, why not? Since that seems quite impossible, I'll be doing a manned rover to Ike with no Mechjeb (never used it anyways )!

.24 reusing ships?
Rainbow-Dashie replied to Sigma117's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
^ never thought of that Might start doing that now. -
.24 reusing ships?
Rainbow-Dashie replied to Sigma117's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
Another way to do this would be allowing you to recover the science from a craft without recovering the entire craft. If you can land your space shuttle at KSC, you could drop off the science, and refuel it using docking ports, KAS stuff, and a fuel truck thingy. It wouldn't be as as smooth and easy as what was previously suggested, but it might be easier for the developers to add in, instead of a garage, vehicle depot, etc. -
I have tried to make space shuttles or reusable craft, or SSTO's, but I just can't manage it at my current skill level. It's all basic, "use and throwaway" rockets, with only the capsule and science payload returning to Kerbin, the boosters, and engines are all floating in LKO, around the sun, or on the surface of the Mun.
-
I do believe that there were reentry effects, so I guess I'm from 0.19, which does sound more familiar.
-
I think I joined in 0.18 (maybe? didn't pay attention.), had the old space center but docking and nodes were all here, as were all the planets, and what not.

On Earth, we care about the lives of our pilots and crew members, so we have to use lasers or nukes to move an asteroid. But for kerbals... if the mission is to move the asteroid so it's path doesn't hit Kerbin, could we in theory, just Kamikaze a ship into the asteroid and save everyone at the expense of a Kerbal or two? Thats my plan! But I want to see what wackjob is plotting...

Space agencies! How did you name them etc...
Rainbow-Dashie replied to InterCity's topic in KSP1 Discussion
M.U.F.F.I.N or "Massive Undertaking For Flying In Nothingness" Spent a lot of time trying to think of a name that would work with the anagram Muffin. -
NONONONONONONONONONO! PleaseStopPleasePleasePlease! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! ****!

I build what I want to land/put in orbit, the space station core, rover, munar lander, etc. Then i pretty much put enough rockets underneath it until i think it can reach it's destination. If it doesn't I will add more rockets, if it still doesn't work, I make the payload a lot smaller and lighter. if that fails, I give up, and move to the next stupid idea until i decide to come back to this!
-
I usually send up a core, then i send up the fuel for it, so it can be a refueling station. Then as I start to realize what I forgot the first few times, I start adding the solar panels, batteries, crew areas, and science stuff that should have been sent up with the first 2 launches... If my brain is working right I may have 2-4 modules, since i remembered everything. When my brain derps, I'll have 5-10 since I keep forgetting those dang solar panels or docking ports and I have to keep fixing my mistakes!

I don't know, therefore Aliens (humans?).

Ranting about "Kerbalnaughts" and the K syndrome.
Rainbow-Dashie replied to astropapi1's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Bekause! I Kan add a K to every word! Nobody Kan stop Me! Now I shall Kackle diabolikally! HAHAHAHAHAHAH! -
Name KSP's currency (or at least suggest it)!
Rainbow-Dashie replied to SkyHook's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Moneys, Super Currency Delux 2.0, Space Dollars. -
Smallest SSTO ever? The Bullet!
Rainbow-Dashie replied to Redshift OTF's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
But...But... They told me bigger was better... they told me the mainsails were the best around... they told me it always needed moar! They...Lied to me... Everything I know is a Lie! -
Build a giant rubber ducky and fly it to the Mun!
-
I had a "reusable ship" once, it had a kethane refinery, and a small kethane miner/lander. so in theory, it could mine, refine, then fly off, never running out of fuel! Until it ran out of fuel once it got to the Mun, and the lander broke apart, and the entire thing was then knocked out of orbit by a rouge satalite (and I needed that statalite!)

Alternatives for atomic interplanetary travel?
Rainbow-Dashie replied to AletzN1's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Depends on how my rocket works out. Sometimes i don't put enough fuel in the stages, and the Munar Decent stage ends up being burned to get in a Kerbin Orbit. Or sometimes they work a lot better then expected and the lifter stage lasts all the way to the Duna insertion burn So whatever happens to be on the stage that makes it to orbit -
I don't like Kerbin at night... I hate parachuting down in total darkness, in a wide open field... im just waiting for slenderkerbal or cannibals or something to run out of the darkness at my capsule...

You play KSP long enough, you see everything from 500 giga-ton super ships, giant wheels, 5 part interplanetary probes, kessler bombs, aircraft carriers and giant weaponized ducks, and you think you've seen it all. Then someone slaps a jet engine on a bike and your still surprised and in awe. God I love this game!
