You wait, like the rest of us.
I would guess at least a couple of weeks to a month at this point.
Happy landings!
To further clarify Starhawk's post, 1.0.5 has NOT been released as of yet. The announcement yesterday in the Dev Notes was that it will be going into QA soon. QA will have it for an unspecified amount of time, then it's on to the Experimentals team. Once they're finished with it, SQUAD will release 1.0.5 to the world and STEAM will auto-update for you.

<p>Contextual Contracts by Brian (Arsonide)</p><blockquote><p>Contextual contracts aims to turn contracts into a more cohesive experience. To accomplish this a new system was created that detects and creates contracts for existing vessels. The more spacecraft are in orbit, the higher the chances are you will run into one of these new contracts.</p>
Will mods like USI-LS (and others) be able to hook into this contract system to include things like Crew Resupply missions to Space Stations/Bases or will this be strictly "add this part to your existing vessel" or "add X more Kerbals to the vessel"

Link is incomprehensible. Gobbledygook
Link takes you to a foreign-language site (CNES, French space agency). It's not incomprehensible to those who speak that language (French), nor if you use a browser (like Chrome) with a translate function.

Botox the thing that freezes your muscles and make you look fake I'm mean younger?
Yep, that one.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Botulinum_toxin
From the Wikipedia article:
"Botulinum toxin type A and B is used in medicine for, among others, upper motor neuron syndrome, focal hyperhidrosis, blepharospasm, strabismus, chronic migraine and bruxism. It is also widely used in cosmetic treatments. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration requires a boxed warning stating that when locally administered the toxin may spread from the injection site to other areas of the body, causing symptoms similar to those of botulism. The warning was the result of deaths associated with its uses.[4][5] The commercial form is marketed under the brand name Botox, among others."

Maybe we could have a movable and sizable navball, much like how Enhanced Navball handles things?
I second this request, a movable and sizable navball in stock would be nice.

The next version is mainly waiting for the multiplanet capability in "Scatterer" mod. Some image previews.
Simply PHENOMENAL Proot!

If my corporate *%$ proxy didn't suck for one day of the year at least, I would find that Hyperedit post... The hyperedit official has a link to download that takes you to a page that has, as far as I remember, other tools. One of them is a craft... hmm... parser, merger, fixer? Don't remember right now, but you might want to check that.
I think the link you're looking for is here:
http://www.kerbaltek.com/craftkitchen
At the bottom of Kerbaltek (guys who maintain Hyperedit) Craft Kitchen there is a link to a Craft Fixer, but it's a pre-0.90 version (really old).

I play stock for now but I would like to add some visual enhancement mods. Just not sure where to start with it frankly.
Environmental Visual Enhancements for Clouds & City Lights
Texture Replacer to replace planet textures for improved planets from orbit, change kerbal heads, uniforms
Scatterer to have some atmospheric scattering/haze
Distant Object Enhancement to show Planets/Moons/Orbiting vessels as sprites in the sky and overlays
Planetshine to add reflections of the planet onto your orbiting vessels
Hot Rockets + Real Plume + Smokescreen to add better engine effects/exhaust effects
Engine Lights (or Lighting) adds a light source from engines

Mods, must have the mods.

I run nVidia as well. Started playing KSP on a 550Ti and later upgraded to what I'm using now which is a GTX760 4GB

Not a huge fan of the new layout either. It was nice to have a rundown of what each developer had been working on for the week. I understand it's a chore to write 10 to 15 sentences on what was worked on, but it seemed much less a broad swipe and much more informative on what's been going on. Also have to agree with hoojiwana above that the quotes seem like a "magazine-article" or "tagline" quote rather than telling us anything of much use...almost 24-hour news network-like.

Taki117 said:While I understand the Mod is in the public domain, you can easily get the mod from Curse.
Or KerbalStuff if you won't touch Cursed with a 10' pole like myself:

I want to be able to run a load of stuff in the background (inc. video capture), and Haswell-E is quad channel, hence the 16gb v 32gb decision.
More RAM is also handy for photo (big panos) and video editing.
Yep, certainly true. I assumed you were building your PC around KSP as you stated your decision was due to this recent announcement of KSP perhaps having stable WIN and MAC x64 builds (thereby addressing all available RAM if necessary). If you want to have numerous other applications running in the background along w/video capture / streaming and do photo/video editing then it'd be worth it; but I was just stating that KSP (and your OS and perhaps some extra things like a few web browser windows, etc..) would never need more than 16Gb.
I run a Linux Mint dual-boot and have loaded up my KSP with something like 115 mods (not even RSS-related) and haven't even got close to my 16Gb. Maximum of something like 9Gb usage in Linux with all those mods.
-
I was speccing my new PC build (Haswell-E, Linux) with 16Gb.
Now seriously considering 32Gb...
All the mods in the world would never put you up against a 16Gb limit, much less a 32Gb one. I'd save my money for something else in my build rather than buying an extra 16Gb of RAM...
Also, thanks for the recap 5th...I missed this one due to real life and would have missed a ton of new news without this!

ha, well got it on steam, a sale is a wonderful incentive!! just a quick question save another thread, i heard its better to start in sandbox mode, get used to the game then start a career, is that true?
Career will limit you to very low level technologies to start...like only maybe 10 parts to choose from. The rest of the parts will need to be unlocked with science and funds over the course of your career. If you're interested in seeing all that KSP can do without limitations and build some CRAZY contraptions and try to get them up, try to start with Sandbox.
I myself started playing before Career or Science mode existed so I started with Sandbox, but once Career came out I moved to it. It's more limiting (and challenging), but I had enough experience in Sandbox.
-
Also, I don't really follow what you meant by "replacing parts". Did I miss something? What are they replacing?
The cockpit that was show in the screenshots is a replacement for the current mk1 "jet" cockpit.

KSP is currently discounted 33% on STEAM, down to $26.79 USD
-
I would suggest picking it up on STEAM, as it's 33% off right now ($26.79 USD)

Ignath: i stand or um sit corrected, but, still max is in a position of great import, and thus we tend to take his word as gospel. which again, means making tweets like that and ignoring the forums touches situations like this off.
I'm in total agreement with you Higgs... ( minus actually restricting Max from twit-ting game-related info [if you were the one that said that], I'd just rather it be posted in BOTH places ) no conflict here. I was just correcting a misconception you had that I was sure (see the post above yours) that EladDv would use in his argument.
-
thats the thing tho, max rambles on his personal account, and because max IS the lead dev far as last i heard, his word is treated as gospel so, anything he says is treated as an announcement, which is like a slap in our faces when, several days or more elapse w/out anything from him or any other dev here. The other thing is, we should not have to wait more than minutes between social media and the forum getting word officially and not some user driven scavenger hunt across the the world.
Max is not the lead dev, Harvester is. Max is the head Producer for KSP.
-
No, you're just exaggerating. The argument is that it wouldn't be much, at all, to ask that the person making these little announcements elsewhere also bang out a minute-long OP saying exactly the same thing and put it in a special place here at the same time. That's what the argument has always been.
This right here ^. Regex is spot on. The argument isn't whether or not the announcement should have been made or that it was made on Twit-ter, but that it was ONLY made on Twit-ter. Also, you have been highly drama-filled and over-exaggerated in EVERY post you've made EladDv. That amount of hyperbole will not win you any arguments...nor will people take anything you say seriously if you continue to go on like that...
I argue that it really is not a huge deal because that information is coming out anyways, Max just let slip this a little earlier than the official announcement. I'm just not seeing why it's being made as big of an issue as for some people to urge Squad to forbid employees from posting game information anywhere else but the forums. No one urged SQUAD to forbid employees from posting game information anywhere but on the forums...that was a straw man that was created by EladDv earlier in the thread.
-
. it's a forum and it's important but it dosnt have to be the first source of news for everybody and it dosnt have to be the first place where it all goes
Doesn't HAVE to be, but since it's technically the only "official" ( other than perhaps the Twitter account @KerbalSpaceP; reddit, SA, Orbiter forums and Max' Twitter account are NOT official they're 3rd party sites... ) web site for KSP...it probably SHOULD be posted here first...
-
I really hope it is much better than the current Win64 Community hack. I set up a modded install of it that runs a bit over 5GB of RAM, which is awesome, but there are glitches. Not outright crashes, just little frustrations like icons disappearing, parts going missing from the editor lists, and funkiness with mouse clicks in apps other than KSP when it is running and afterwards (seriously).
Regarding the bold section: I had this issue as well with the old x64 build. I found if you right-click in the menu bar of the application you're having issues with, it clears the mouse click issue up. Not really a solution, but an easy work-around if it were to still be an issue.

I don't have twitter, facebook or any of that crap. Don't need it or want it and don't like having to dig through them for info that should be kept together in one place, on the official forums.
Quoted for truth...this statement has been made time and time again by users...NO reason Regex (or any other user for that matter...) should have to post this on SQUAD's "official" (or should it be semi-official) forums, it should be done by SQUAD (read Maxmaps here if he was the one w/permission to "spill the beans") themselves!

blackrack did Scatterer. I would also add Proot to the list with his awesome Renaissance Compilation (which is mainly just textures for TR/EVE and .cfgs for PlanetShine, DOE, etc..)
