  1. WOW, glad I've taken a bit of a break from KSP lately.  Looks like in the future I'll either be playing un-modded or wait until another sufficient location is found to house mods.  I will not use that outhouse of an advertisement and malware pusher that is Curse ever again.

Edit:  And thanks to @SirCmpwn for all his tireless effort and monetary contribution to this game that we all love.  Sorry the constant negativity of things overwhelmed the massively positive thing you did for all of us who use mods.

Sorry to interrupt the annual pitchfork enthusiasts meeting...

    But what exactly are experimentals...?

Experimentals are just another step in the software development/testing process that SQUAD uses.  It is the step between QA and Release where the software version goes from being tested by the QA group to being tested by a larger group called the Experimentals group.

Basically, to any normal player of KSP, Experimentals just means we're 1 step closer to the new release.  In the past Experimentals have lasted around 2 weeks IIRC.  It sometimes takes longer is game breaking bugs are found, but Experimentals is usually the point where the player base starts getting excited and ramped up for the new release.  It is also the point where @GregroxMun generally starts the Hype Train rolling.

KSP is that kind of game. The only commentary that goes well over it is science-y commentary a la Scott Manley or the like. It's not very well suited to the style of the (aptly named) Twitch streaming community.

indeed it's much more fun to play game yourself than watch others... i'ts just pointless... :D  *no offence* :)

Have either of you watched ShimmytheJJ before?  He's incredibly engaging and is actually a joy to watch.  He's been a top KSP streamer on Twitch for a long time before he took what was likely a well-needed 3 or so month break from streaming.  He was also one of the main KSP streamers on KSPTV for a long time.  I myself missed his streams a lot while he was away, he always has interesting designs and plays with a variety of different mods...from an RSS install to KAS/KIS and full LS suite, interplanetary launch pads, etc... so always something interesting to see.

While I understand it may be something you guys aren't into...the statement that "i'ts (sic) just pointless" is just like...your opinion man and shouldn't be stated as fact as it's not one.  I also agree that Twitch Thursdays on the Daily Kerbal are fairly lacking and I think SQUAD should make a change; that discussion has already happened in the community and SQUAD has apparently decided to make no change in that regard (at least thus far).

I think if you browse through the thread a bit you'd find this issue coming up a lot.  I believe each time it's been linked to a bug in core KSP rather than anything wrong with EVE.  I don't believe anything can be done about it...at least not by Rbray89

  6. Saw Lemmy  and  Motörhead play at Ozzfest in 1998 in Sommerset Wisconsin.  Phenomenal show.

I was absolutely blown away by their raw power.  No fancy lights or stage show, no costumes or makeup, they just came out and played hard.... so very hard!

Agreed.  I had heard Motörhead before via CD/Cassette Tape (IKR, how old!) but that Ozzfest was the first time I'd ever seen them live.  So powerful with no BS frills or facepaints.

I would argue every heavy metal band today owes their existence to Motörhead, and I hope they appreciate what Lemmy did when he started that band.  He didn't just play music, he inspired thousands, and practically invented Metal.

Ozzy Osbourne of Black Sabbath (and solo artist) fame, along with Billy Joe Armstrong (Green Day) both point to Lemmy as inspirations in their music, as well as (in Ozzy's case) close friends.  It's a shame that Motörhead has not been recognized in the same manner both these bands have been (R&R Hall of Fame), they (and Lemmy by proxy) are equally worthy if not moreso.  I'm sure there are also many, many more examples of bands who'd consider their music directly influenced by Lemmy.  Megadeth, Metallica (though the latter'd never admit it) and even many hard rock/metal bands of today owe at least some of their fame to what Motörhead did.

Haha haha.  I may have unintentionally invented tip assist, ala south park mobility scooters, for my landers.

Jeb was on his first Lunar Landing, I flubbed the landing and it tipped over.  Normal procedure is either a rescue mission or a revert.  I decided to see if I could fix it myself.

I have DMagic orbital sciences and universal storage with the lovely inline compartments for them.  I decided to see if the magnetometer would interact with them ground, yay it does.  So I rolled them Lander so that was facing down and toggled it, which pushed them Lander closer to upright, with that and liberal use of RCS I was almost able to get it standing back up.  Between poor leg placement and me getting greedy them main engine it failed explosively.  But I think proof of concept may be there.

Gonna do a redesign and will try to post some pictures after work.

I have saved many a Mun mission this way.  DMagic's Magnetometer can be a life-saver in these situations.

    Magnetometer is a mod, isn't it ?

Yep, Magnetometer is from DMagic Orbital Science mod.

    I like that idea :)

If that is in response to the contract tie in, I do as well; I thought it'd be a nice little bonus to those using USI-LS in career.  Plus, it'd act as almost a built-in notification of supplies getting low if players check their available contracts.

  9. @RoverDude Do you have any plans on implementing (or has it been done) some sorts of re-supply mission framework that can tie into the newer contextual contracts that were added by Arsonide recently?  Something like a contract to send re-supply to ground bases or space stations that are within a certain established range of running out of supply?  Sorry if this has been answered already, I was unable to find any mention of it.

Did you switch to the Tracking Station and enable the display of "debris" (aka, uncontrolled things)? Try that if you haven't. You should see it sitting there on the map near the KSC.

Yep, I bet magico13 is correct...the control device rule only matters once you go outside the 22m distance requirement or w/e.

There's no way to recover parts that come to rest peacefully, even right at your facility, once they leave your primary vehicle?

I believe you need a control device of some sort (HECS, OCTO core, etc...) attached to the stuff you want to recover if you disconnect it from your primary vehicle, otherwise it's considered junk.

Agreed.  I can't even count the number of times I reflexively typed "forums.kerbalspaceprogram.com" into the URL and hit ENTER only to then realize the forums were down for maintenance.
