Have you thought about awarding actual "wings" to the different crew members that have successfully completed aircraft and rocket flights? Like takeoff=landing=5 and they get basic aircraft wings and then if they actually get to orbit they get one type of wing and if they successfully orbit the planet at least 5 times they get a different wing that has stars added to it like the US does for pilots that become astronauts. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Astronaut_Badge

I for one enjoy(ed) getting all my little green people to have various ribbons and to get them various awards based on their own accomplishments. I was thinking of attempting it but I realized that 1) I don't know where to start and 2) I wouldn't know how to code it or which things to look for to make it ever come close to functioning properly. Even for simple things like basic pilot wings for successfully taking off and landing in an aircraft without crashing/dying 5 times; or getting advanced wings when you do it 10, 15, 20 times. Not counting wings or rocket badges for successfully launching/riding a rocket up and returning from the launch. Landing on the various objects out there or even better making orbits or ribbons for fast times to orbit...seems like it would be easier for someone with a little more code ability in their brain than mine.

Thanks for the site. Are there KSP 1 ships in there or modded ships? Some of the ones I have "copied" don't seem to load and I can't paste them into anything. Just checking and thanks for the site.

Already done and after an hour of pulling one and restarting it would seem that the Spacedock one you linked is functioning on my system as it should now. Going to add in another mod and see what happens but the KSP.log file is not showing any problems with that KSPUtil error right now. I have no clue where the version I got came from; the numbers on the download I had were 1.0.13-2539 and the version you linked is 1.10.0-3485. Working FF, Squad and Squad Expansion KSP.log -

No compromised binaries....no exceptions found when loading stock KSP. I'm thinking that my copy of FF is the culprit for sure right now. Here is the KSP.log file and it is showing the old faithful KSPUtil problem on my end. -

That mod was forced on my via CKAN...because it was a dependency for some other mod. Once I get finished with this quote for a customer this morning I am going to spend my lunch break tearing apart the KSP Gamedata folder ONE MORE TIME! Here is the KSP.log from the good run last night. And the one from a quick boot up this morning and it shows Tweakcale had 6 parts fail "sanity checks" -

Just tried reinstalling Final Frontier after confirming all the steps from @Lisias in the previous post. Still getting the same error message in the log file pointing at the following in the spoiler. Here is the newest KSP.log --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Updated Information --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Just pulled Final Frontier from the mods and restarted the game and it is loading correctly. I can't come up with any other reason the game doesn't work with it installed. -

Haven't been around much since Friday evening my time but I will give it a shot. I went through late Friday afternoon and pulled all the MM dll files out except for the 4.2.1 version that is showing and found the multiple folders as well and moved all those items into one folder under Gamedata. As far as Firespitter goes I was already using the V7.17 download and I had installed it manually; but the Comorant (aka Shuttle Lifting Body) and Kerbalized Suits were done via CKAN. -

Has anyone heard from Nereid or reached out about taking over FF? I saw that the last time his profile showed activity here was back in February of 2021. Just wondering if it might be worth it to at least ask. -

Yep found and removed the extra MM files that were screwed up thanks to weird file structures. I usually use Imgur or Gyazo to grab screen shots but I happened to have my phone handy and it was easier than using snip for the 1-2 seconds that the second screen was up. -

Yeah I know but having downloaded it via CKAN it was loaded that way and it was causing errors when I tried loading KSP. Don't know why it wasn't working as it should. My post was just a reminder in case someone else had the same issue.- 2,351 replies

@Lisias I removed FF and the game loaded and seems to be working correctly. I am going to reload VVC here in a few minutes and restart and see what happens. As of right now it seems that whatever that KSPUtil function points at is jacked up on and isn't allowing the game to load properly. -

If anyone is using the Shuttle Lifting Body please be aware that a version of the ModuleManager.3.0.7.dll is not going to load in properly. In my install it was hiding out inside the Comorany Aeronology 1.5.1 folder. You can't just grab that folder and place it in Gamedata. You need to go down one more folder and pull all three items in there out to place inside the Gamedata folder so they will all function correctly. Removed VVC and added Clickthroughblocker and Toolbar Controller then restarted. Here is the player log and the KSP Log. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Screen grabs from my phone are linked in the Spoiler. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- The error message this time says the following but the ModuleManager.dll is loaded in the Gamedata folder and not hiding inside any of the mods or mod subfolders [LOG 10:59:01.688] [ModuleManagerWatchDog] DETAIL: "Houston, we have a Problem!" was displayed about : ModuleManager.dll <b>must be</b> directly on GameData and not inside any subfolder. Please move ModuleManager.dll directly into GameData. -

I've been away from this for a few hours and it was all I could think about. So I hope you can forgive me with this error; I got a little frustrated and just grabbed all the mods and installed them again. I appreciate your help with this and hope that my problems can help resolve someone else's either now or in the future. As for my install it is via Steam on a secondary...well probably my fourth or fifth SSD drive on my system (I forget which one). Anyway the game was running fine until I decided to add in Final Frontier and I didn't mention this but I hadn't played KSP in about a year before starting back up a week or so ago. At that point I feel like I started chasing down error messages and created more issues by attempting to fix the problems by adding in or changing mods and "patches" some via CKAN and some manually. If this one is a little wonky just let me know and I will pare it back to just KSP and FF with Tweakscale and we can go from there. Here is the link to the KSP.log file here The player file is the most recent and the player-prev file is the last working one with just Kerbalized suits mod active. Agree 100% now just need to find the other problem and try to target it for someone smarter with coding than me. Any idea on where the KSPUtil is located and how it functions within Final Frontier? Thanks @Lisias I decided to blow it all up and do a reinstall of KSP and add mods one by one to figure out who/what/when/where this "KSP_Util thingy" is that is causing the problem. I am going to add in FF first and then start adding from there. -

Thanks for the reply. I was going through all the modded install troubleshooting steps on my own before while composing that first post here. Anyway I tried a wonderful thing I learned many moons ago working at EIDOS Interactive in their QA team of removing the last items you put into the game to see if that removed the problem and then when I ran the game the logs were written over with the latest that doesn't have FF installed. Here is a link to that last running log. It does not have FF in it because I removed it and the game works as it was before I added FF into the mod list. I tried adding this mod into my game today after forgetting about it and I downloaded the most recent version I could find linked here. However the game would throw up a weird error that pointed back to Tweakscale but never would allow me to move beyond it until I completely removed the folder with Final Frontier out of my Gamedata folder. Once I did that the game loaded as it should and I am able to play again. However I wanted to use Final Frontier as I really liked having it when playing KSP in the past. Any idea if it is usable without CKAN? I don't really like using CKAN but if I have to I guess I will.
