Decided to use the stock Kerbal X to try to get to the Mun and back. Though a challenge, it was still a lot of fun for all Kerbals involved. P.S. Pretty epic Solar Eclipse at: 1:29

In this video I finish the two missions launched by the Skywalker reusable booster. (Click Here to See That)

So I recently made a video showcasing 3 reusable booster designs in KSP, you can see it HERE. As soon as Kerbal Essences saw it he challenged me to actually reuse the booster. After several hours I successfully designed the required ground support systems to not only put the booster back on the pad but also mount a second payload to it for a second flight. As long as the booster lands in-tact, this system allows for the booster to be reused indefinitely. Hope you guys enjoy!

I see. Well that's a great idea and you should pursue it, many of us would love to have a mod that allowed the control through re-entry Apollo style.

How to save Valentina and Jebediah.
MoonMan22 replied to PKFP's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Depending on how high your orbit is the EVA trick ElWanderer explained above might be your best bet if you have trouble with completing an orbital rendezvous, but if you are confident you can achieve an encounter then just build a ship with more than enough delta v and save them one at a time. -
I personally like going Elon Musks route and using my favorite movies and shows. My current fleet are Star Wars related: OB-1 (Small suborbital booster) SOLO-v1 (medium lifter) Skywalker v1

This is a really interesting idea and if you get it to work please share. Just make sure what ever you use to offset the mass is completely hidden(clipped) inside the Command pod, otherwise it will affect the aerodynamic model. goodluck!

Stock Reusable Boosters are way too much fun!
MoonMan22 replied to MoonMan22's topic in KSP Fan Works
Thank you, it does add a bit more fun to the game. It's just tricky putting the 2nd stage on the right trajectory to ensure that you have enough time to land the booster then switch back to it and perform the orbital insertion. I have some crew versions too and want to develop both a fully reusable rocket (landing second stage too) and a reusable Mars transfer system.- 2 replies

Deploy Multiple Satellites On One Trip?
MoonMan22 replied to Geoclasm's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Read the contract carefully, I believe for satellites they require them to be unmanned. If thats the case just take a guidance unit along with all the hardware the contract requires and detach in the correct orbit. Goodluck -
Thats cool. Did not know that.

Hello from America, Thats odd, I launch reusable rockets all the time and it never forced me to recover my boosters even tho they are less then 2km from launch pad. I have not tested it since the last update with a spaceplane, but it should work fine. Some things to check to see if it's actually a simple solution. 1. Once you have landed, make sure you are returning to space center and not reverting to launch. 2. Also make sure that u have enough Kerbals hired. (Not sure if this could cause this but should just be safe) 3. Make sure that you are not mistaking debree on the runway with the actual vessle. (Ex. If u launch a rocket using launch clamps, they will remain on the pad after launch, becoming a peice of the rocket you must recover to clear the pad) 4. FYI. The runway on the island in KSP counts as the main runway, so if you have a plane there it will force you to recover it. Sorry I couldn't help more. Goodluck

I have a(nother) aerodynamics problem...

Just like Temstar said, Move CoM forward, and remove the wing parts u have running vertically on the side. good luck! -
How do I stow a satellite in a cargo bay?
MoonMan22 replied to Geoclasm's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Hope that works out! If you still need help you can send over the craft files and I'll do it so you can see. -
How do I stow a satellite in a cargo bay?
MoonMan22 replied to Geoclasm's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Hello, Well there are a few options i can think of quickly. You can re-attach the Communotron 88-88 that you have there on top and re-attach it centered but not to the attachment node. This will allow you to connect something over it like a docking port (using the docking port will allow u to decouple without a decoupler) to the attachment node. You can also use the small hardpoint attachment to attach it radially. Hope that helps.
