  1. I'm not even sure we could protect the equipment well enough if we somehow manage to land anything there. But yeah, what should we do with all that sulfur? Sterilize a excrementsload of wine barrels?
  2. That's what PR gives to the general public. In reality, things are way more complex. Think about it. That ice is primordial and Mercury has been heavily bombarded and is covered by powdery dust. There is no way the ice would be readily available as an ice skating rink. It is dispersed and that's what the sensors detect. Abundance of hydrogen.
  3. What does "crystals" mean? Anyway, sulfur on Io, of course, but it won't happen because of its enormous ionizing radiation doses on the surface. And mining anything from gas giants is futile. If you want to know why, try hovering over Jool. Not orbiting. Hovering. Hydrogen is obtainable from water. Pack a fission reactor and let it produce electricity for electrolysis. Water is available even on Mercury, but you need to go to the poles and dig and reprocess the icy rocks.
  4. I am planning on using a 1.25 m NF fission reactor for this purpose. I'm not sure, but its own fuel should be enough for the whole trip. Kerbalism is nice, but so much is hidden from the user so you just can't tell what's happening.
  5. Kron missions are sandbox. Doing this in career/science mode would be possible, but incredibly annoying. As Geschosskopf said, it would not work for me as it takes a lot of time. Kerbals will sleep during the trip, but I have Kerbalism, so stuff can break down. The ship needs to arrive there as fast as possible. Exactly, I can't spend time cavorting around the inner planets. I'm mostly worried about getting home fast enough.
  6. I'm going to use a hyperbolic trajectory so it will take few years to reach it. My only concern so far is the fact Plock is tiny and it will be difficult to stop at arrival. I'm still waiting for all the mods to update... Thanks.
  7. This is a really nice mod, essential to me because stock lights are clunky and not nice. These look stock, but aren't in the way and look much better.
  8. Nah, Croatian war for independence. Serbian paramilitary forces were doing Desh things in nearby villages, and cities got pummeled by bombs. Let me just tell you that the crap you see in Hollywood movies is 100% wrong. The sound, the image, everything when it falls nearby is absolutely different from what you see in stupid war movies. And you don't want to experience it. Yeah, I can laugh about it now.
  9. Scientific theories are things that already have proof (and a model, etc.). That is, stuff like string theory isn't really a scientific theory. It's a mathematical theory. Mathematics is not science. I'd rather call it string hypothesis.
  10. KSP without bugs? That will never happen.
  11. I almost got killed by a grenade. I guess that counts.
  12. There's absolutely no need for that. In no circumstances will we get solid or liquid hydrogen and oxygen from electrolysis of water. It's a silly pleonasm from US education system.
  13. Oh, that's the nutter with the loud music.
  14. Horton's reality escaping electric brick! XD
  15. I wouldn't call that a popular belief. I'd call that an ignorant view of a minority. The fact that Nazis were exterminating all of them (including the Roma people, Jehowa's witnesses, etc.) is common knowledge. They even had a plan for the Slavic nations, to turn them into slaves.
  16. That's why we use more sensitive sensors, to cut down the exposure time and get the same thing. Also, I wonder how do they keep the sharks so still...
  17. Pinch of sodium sulfate or sodium hydroxide unless you use platinum electrodes (and I doubt you do LOL). Don't use excessively large currents because you'll get some ozone at the anode and you'll heat the electrolyte causing lots of warm vapor to enter you system. PB666, concentrated hydrochloric acid is NOT to be used for making hydrogen. Dumping aluminium in it will cause a delayed violent reaction that will produce copious amounts of hydrogen chloride and hydrochloric acid mist. It will turn into gray, corrosive foam that will solidify like lava after it cools down. HCl in any concentration is really not the best thing for making hydrogen as it's volatile, necessitating gas scrubbers to remove the fumes. Also, what the hell is GH2 and GOX?
  18. Galilean satellites would be visible in best conditions if you used something like a distant power pole line to obscure Jupiter itself. The planet is just too bright so it washes them out from sight.
  19. Disc of Venus is discernible, but visible to a handful of people because most of us have at least some obvious degree of astigmatism and/or myopia that makes tiny sources of light (and point ones) look like little stars so it's not possible to see it. Apparent perfect vision is extremely rare. Jupiter's disc is a bit smaller so I'm not sure but I'd say probably yes. I don't have apparent perfect vision and I still see it's not a simple apparent point of light like stars are.
  20. Any news? Squad still keeps RTG unit nonrealistic, and this was a really nice plugin.
  21. Because, quite often when updating spree is happening, modders release several versions per day. E-mail updates are unnerving when 349876496587389 of them happen in short time.
  22. It shows the date, but: a) not on the first page, b) time would be appreciable.
