  1. One kind suggestion - there is absolutely no need for 4 LV-N engines given the size of your orbiter. Even one is an overkill.
  2. So far luck helped 2/12 times. I'm having problems with the Infestation level. All I get is typical population fluctuation.
  3. TAC, DeepFreeze (or SETI Greenhouse), JDiminishingRTG, NearFutureElectrical, OuterPlanetsMod... That's my combo and it makes things very enjoyable.
  4. Every first landing on Mun is special.
  5. To sum it up, you'd be ok with more planets if Squad added an engine that's basically a tooth fairy pipedream? Well guess what, some places are not meant to be populated or visited like we visit continents. Do you complain about the horrible task of coming back from Eve's surface? Some places are to be visited with probes or really insane motherships, just like it would be in real life. It's not just about making things bigger. If Squad adds more neccessary realism and makes RTG units decay, and Kerbals hungry, it will make things very interesting.
  6. Wow, thank you for your useless contribution to the discussion. I might say the exact same thing about you.
  7. special news - Kerbal biomedical scientists are working hard on cloning Jebediah and Valentina. - Wernher von Kerman has ordered a new frontal portion of the ship to be made and launched as soon as possible. - Mortimer Kerman threatens to burn down the KSC flag and protests in front of the Administration building because of huge additional expenses. - Bill was saved by an autonomous Mk1 vehicle. He landed and was recovered by the ground crew. Walt Kerman, Public relations of the MONBTTD
  8. I never understood why was this not developed further. I mean come on, it's not that hard. This is basically why I'm using Outer Planets Mod. It's stockalike, reminds me of our own system and it's interesting.
  9. I was thinking, if Squad is gonna implement new special Kerbals (like Linus, Walt, Mortimer, etc.), a good idea would be to use a female Kerbal for the actual planetary science when/if discovering planetary bodies and their properties becomes a part of the game. I recommend Carolyn Kerman, inspired by Carolyn Porco. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carolyn_Porco
  10. Then you never actually learned flying rockets and you should've if you have 1700 h worth of game. I'm actually completely baffled by your statement, I can hardly believe you can't establish orbits anymore.
  11. Nope, it's out of the question for me. KSP is a special game and we don't need to taint it with such crap. There are mods for it. Leave the stock game peaceful.
  12. Here's Val doing the checkup of The Toilet, or perhaps she survived when Jeb destroyed the facility while she was pooping. It's not really hilarious, but it does give me a chuckle.
  13. Of course not. I don't install OS without first checking other people's experiences. That annoying little icon in the system taskbar would reappear all the time so I've uninstalled the relevant updates. If Microsoft felt the need to behave like a spamming company, I feel the need to resist that BS. Windows 7 works like a charm. If it's working, don't fix it.
  14. Well the Ministry has asked for an accelerated refueling so a larger supply vessel was provided capable of delivering almost three silver tank worth of liquid fuel (almost 11 000 units). As usual, haste does not bring much good. Latest refueling mission ended right before the sunset and at the moment of unplugging the fuel pipe, the whole frontal part of the ship was blown off. Apparently Jeb and Val were busy doing something else and the ships were slightly touching. Kron 4 command module and supply ship's capsule were destroyed (Jeb and Val were killed), main heatshield has been blown off like a coin and the lander was thrown away. Bill has escaped the explosion and has boarded Kron 4, being unable to return home. Stay tuned for more developing news on the disaster.
  15. First delivery of liquid fuel. Bill soon realized he forgot to bring his drill so the team had to go back. After that he brought his handy dandy 3D glasses and a full glass helmet. Less than one silver tank was filled. Ministry is not satisfied.
  16. I see you like those fuel tanks with flat sides. I like them, too.
  17. Yeah, that is a neat method, but turning Kron 4 like that... ugh. That's a lot of mass to be flipped around.
  18. Of course. The world laughs at the matter. It's ridiculous to even think that USA still holds on to that stupid system.
  19. That's a disgusting wallpaper.
  20. Throw enough bricks from the first floor and you get 1 kT of energy released. It's the way the energy is released what matters, not the total amount.
  21. Indeed it does, but the angle is very small. The launch vehicle was a bit overpowered so there were no significant problems.
  22. Kerbal engineers stumbled upon an enormous problem - putting the collosal propulsion unit into a low Kerbin orbit. Unlike with Kron 3, this propulsion unit is much more heavier when it's full. If a rocket is ought to be simple, it would need to be taller than VAB. Complex rockets would have an insane amount of parts. So it was decided to launch the thing almost completely empty and use a three stage vehicle with boosters. First stage is a cluster of mainsails on a conical fuel tank with four liquid fuel boosters. Behold, the launch. The first stage did initially experience minor issues with one of the boosters getting too hot and partially exploding, but the rocket is so heavy it didn't pose a problem. Sepratrons firing upon booster separation caused the first stage to explode, though. Second stage was ignited without problems. Enormous fairings fall off, revealing the propulsion unit. Circularization was established using more than half of the third stage. As it is a rather bulky object, it was not maneuvered, but simply approached by the ship and then docked to. Kron 4 is now assembled, but lacks the fuel. Bill Kerman will lead several missions where he will strut the ship and deliver pure liquid fuel for the nuclear engines.
  23. I'd make the ship in orbit, but it wouldn't contain any Kerbals until the new version is out.
