  1. Pretty self explanatory, how far can you get using Rapier engines. You can use it in many ways, such as spaceplanes, a rocket, or a multistage rocket. The points will be scored on how far you get, the vehicle type (rocket or plane), the weight, the amount of kerbals on board, and if you landed it or not. Just remember to have fun and compete! Scoring: -Amounts of Kerbal +1 (for each kerbal on board) -Weight +1 (for each ton on the launchpad, round to the nearest whole number) (AND NO YOU CANNOT HAVE TONS OF STUFF ON YOUR ROCKET AND EJECT THEM OFF ON THE LAUNCHPAD) -Spaceplane +10/Rocket +5 -Return to Kerbin x2 total score -Mun +10 -Minmus +20 -Duna +60 -Ike +45 -Eve+70 -Gilly +60 -Moho +110 -Dres +90 -Laythe +130 -Vall +110 -Tylo +160 -Bop +135 -Pol +130 -Eeloo +200 My attempt: 221 parts, 3 kerbals, a rocket, 270t on the launchpad, 33 engines in total 27 engines burning Gravity turn Mun encounter Mun orbit Sub-orbital Touchdown Huh, the flag actually has a name Vehicle: Rocket +5 Kerbals +3 Weight: 270t +270 Destination: Mun +10 Total score: 288 SCOREBOARD -Spartwo 106
  2. I decided that I should get a joystick to use on KSP and on other games, but i'm lost. What kind should I get? Recommendations?
  3. 2nd attempt. This tanker was too small/light. It kept wobbling around and I wasn't able to dock.
  4. Nice, it's always easier to control a small plane. Also those planes look cooooooooool.
  5. Ok i'm trying a new boom design. I'm using toridal tanks as a spring to combat the speed differential of the two planes. The only flaw is that the spring could break.
  6. I used mechjeb to "auto pilot" the tanker at a relative altitude of 2000 meters.
  7. Test flight results: -nose heavy -needs reinforcing on docking port -heavy -recommend having RCS thrusters to make small mid air adjustments -part count is a bit high -very fast
  8. Also maybe a guide would be great, like a net to funnel the docking port to the docking port. Like this:
  9. I could use something that absorbs shock as the boom. Like the donut tanks stacked on top of each other makes a great spring....
  10. I docked for 2 seconds and then the docking port broke and struck the plane. I just rage quit.
  11. Also I might restart my challenge on mid air docking. http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/63762-Mid-Air-Refueling-Challange?highlight=refueling+challenge
  12. Also what's the part count on the SR-71? It can affect the frame rate on my computer trying to dock in mid air.
  13. Yermolayev-2 (Yer-2) Heinkel-162 (He-162) Dehavilland DH.100 Vampire (Dehavilland Vampire) Coming soon
  14. I'll attempt the mid air refuel maybe tomorrow, I will probably install mechjeb and I need to clean out ksp. Those 3 1000+ part rocket saves are really taking a toll on my fps.
  15. Used my light cargo plane and modified it. Download: http://www./view/nrb04j5nku9ldn7/Helix_III.craft Craft thread: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/67198-Helix-II-reliable-handy-cargo-plane?highlight=helix
  16. I think that's still a WIP, also that 2000 part rocket would make a regular computer implode.
  17. Well to be honest I used my Yer-2 bomber, removed the guns, bombs, and some weight and added a refueling probe on it. 18. Mid air refueling with that configuration looks really hard. Mid air refueling in general isnVERY HARD. I tried many times in the past... http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/63762-Mid-Air-Refueling-Challange?highlight=refueling+challenge
