  1. I think Gregrox is the team lead, but I'll check. I'll be a pilot if need be, since I'm pretty good with aircraft. That what you mean?
  2. Jhh? So, you wanna join? (I'll have GregroxMun PM ya.) Also, you got Skype?
  3. Yup, I can definitely build non-combat vessels, since that's where I really started (SSTOs and such), and I actually only started going heavy with combat ships once I joined the forum. EDIT: I just got accepted to a team with GregroxMun and Rune, you wanna join us Spartwo?
  4. I'm up to join a team, with my expertise being SSTOs and sturdy rovers, but I dabble around. Anyone still recruiting for a team?
  5. Any of ya'll want to team up for that reddit vs. forum challenge SQUAD's got running?
  6. .... 4 quad salvos (or 8 dual-shots)? I'll take my chances. Plus, you discount the fact that even if an SRB failed to damage your physical hull, the kinetic force might very well ruin your internals.
  7. Trust me, no ship has ever been truly "invincible". But I know how to make mine much more..... survivable. In any case, very few ships can bounce a cluster-shot of SRBs at "close" range.
  8. Wow, the rocket-powered VTOL and that WIP carrier look awesome!
  9. Meet the SX-6 Oracle. This line of heavy assault vessels will once again showcase the MU's skill at building quality craft, and at manufacturing some of the best military vessels currently on the market. These craft carry up to 12 average-size 1.25m munitions, plus a pair of 6-barreled gatling i-beam cannons. Their propulsion is a mix of low-power K-Drive, LVN rockets, and 8 ion engines. The ships also have immense amounts electrical power, and an all-important "Klaw". Also, these ships all make use of MU-brand "H.A.R.D." hull-plating. (Hybrid Armor Reactive Defense) This plating makes these hulls nearly invulnerable to light weapons fire, and to most non-heavy munitions. (Plus, it has the added bonus of showing actual battle scarring on the hulls, helping aid in ship diagnostics.) Ships of the Line: MU/s Nebuchadnezzar (Captain: Morpheus Kerman) MU/s Dr. Strangekerb II (Captain: Jebediah Kerman) MU/s Redpill (Captain: //REDACTED//) Currently, these ships are an MU-only warship. However, we are willing to negotiate the licensing of new hulls (ships) to interested parties. (PM me if you wish to acquire a ship.) //MU Military Shipyards, c.2014// (P.S.: Sorry for the spam, but I tend to like to.... "flex" the proverbial "muscles" of my newest warships. And to warn others of what they might have to deal with. ) Also, when might your next battle post be up by, BrightBritches? And do you mind if I battle someone else at the same time?
  10. Hmm.... seems very quiet here today...
  11. That's why smart tacticians always have a backup plan. I tend to always have one in the form of heavy ammo, such as SRBs, guided missiles, or special armor-piercing/cracking rounds (like ZS Shredders). Also, get something large going fast enough with some explosive kick (LFO/Solid Fuel works great), and you can simply destroy almost anything. Of course, there's the problem of ammo weight, but that can be.... *in Matrix Agent voice* "worked around".
  12. To which "hybrid armor" are you referring to? I tend to use that definition to describe armor plating that works like this: Outer Layer = Wing Plate Armor Under-layer = Reinforced Steel Plate Armor It functions off of the "reactive armor" principle used IRL. A weaker outer layer can be damaged more easily, but in turn cancels out the vast majority of the kinetic energy being put into the ship hull, therefore severely increasing the strength of the under-layer by slowing down incoming fire near-instantly. Plus, this makes for "realistic" battle scarring, such as the hull of my A.D.A. in the battle between me and BrightBritches.
  13. I'm temped to make write a "thesis" on KSP combat tactics and techniques..... just to gather info and to have a nice knowledge pool for newer players/all-stock military builders. What do ya'll think? That, or perhaps some sort of "Volume 1" of a KSP GNBC encyclopedia? (Also, this might come in handy if griefing and piracy become commonplace in KSP MP servers whenever SQUAD creates the official MP update.)
  14. Yup, plus even if a ship (aquatic or vacuum-based) hull survives a normally devastating hit, the sheer kinetic force will more often than not turn its insides to a pulp. That immediately makes the armor/hull strength only somewhat effective, since without internals (fuel, engines, ammo reserves, power generation/batteries, and crew modules/probe cores), a ship is essentially a giant metallic rock. That's why I spam-fire I-beam rounds from my starships in combat, as that type of attack has time and time again managed to induce this "kinetic overload" effect upon impact. For surface combat, similar tactics may be effective, but using different weapons (such as cluster bombs, shrapnel-filled frag rounds, etc.).
  15. I spam SAS reaction wheels to make it hard to shake up my ships.
  16. I hope you enjoy bonnaroo, and I don't mind waiting. I agree, though that a long war of attrition would be quite bad indeed. Also, the Fortune did get hit with a 1.25m torp designed to wreck capital ships, plus a quad-salvo of I-beams, so it is quite tough. However, the trick is better internal structure. Mount things like engine mounts, fuel tanks, and other internal systems to the framework rather than the outer hull, and have extra reinforcement where it has vulnerable parts.
  17. ? You talking about the Halo 5/MC Collection showcase/trailer? Because if so, I agree completely. Time to make a KSP warship go boom like that..... heheheh..... *Starts planning orbital demolition attacks for future battles*
  18. ///BATTLE UPDATE!/// MU SX-4 Dominator "Maverick" attacks BB Fortune. Gallery: Your move, BrightBritches. DL Link/Persist: http://www./download/jez0ampr9iohaur/persistent(9).sfs
  19. Lel already seen it, thanks to my TV.
  20. Mini-Update: My battle post for BrightBritches is complete (thanks, exams! :/) and will be posted shortly. First, I must make dinner... and watch some of the freakin' awesome game videos from E3!
  21. This ship.... is amazing. Now add more boosters! (That may actually work, from my past experience launching large, oddly-shaped craft.)
