Today I discovered that links to a certain alternative mod repository site ( http://********************.com/ ) are being automatically altered by the forum software. I admit to being somewhat curious as to the reason, and whether this was a condition imposed on Squad in the terms of their partnership with Curse or their own decision.

Use it for inflate/deflate, and the regular one (or Firespitter) for the rotation? -
Nice designs, interesting story.

Bump. SpacePort is, of course, no more. Are there any plans to upload this to Curse, or make it otherwise available?
-
Excellent. (Might want to note that in the OP.)

[Showcase] Showoff Your Rep-Worthy Crafts
Commander Zoom replied to Redrobin's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Look at the grey bottom bar under each post and click on the six-pointed star (not the triangle with the exclamation mark). You can add a comment that they will see, if you like. and that IS a great-looking station. -

*sees that Porkjet posted, and again makes with the puppy eyes for a Large Centrifugium* Keep the tube thickness as it is, if you like - just a larger hub. Please? -

The appreciative adjective "Shiny!" has rarely been more appropriate.

Goodbye, Minmus.
Commander Zoom replied to Souper's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
The OP wasn't really even asking for realism. He wanted to make things harder for new players who have it "too easy" because it exists. Kod forbid that any part of a game be too easy for new players! Instead of quitting in frustration after repeated failures, they might stick around, stinking up the place with their n00bishness! Some, in their ignorance, might even imagine themselves our equals because of their so-called accomplishment of landing on "the baby moon"! And we can't have that, now can we? -
I'm a child of the Space Age - born a month before Apollo 13, grew up with the Shuttle, the Voyagers, Hubble... the ISS, Spirit and Opportunity, Galileo... And now I get to do all that myself.

How did you start your KSP learning curve?
Commander Zoom replied to nobbers12345's topic in KSP1 Discussion
It was so long ago (version 8 or 9, somewhere thereabouts) that I really don't recall where I heard about it - possibly on the XKCD forums, before it started turning up in the comics. Itchono's post, here, gives a pretty good description of what it was like in those days. Most of the Youtube videos that existed at the time were what I now call "fireworks displays": a big bunch of stock tanks, engines and SRBs (people were only just starting to make mods) whose sole purpose was to come apart and/or explode entertainingly soon after liftoff. There really wasn't much else to do yet, besides try to get into orbit. Here is a reproduction of my first multi-stage rocket (with the stock Mk1 capsule model replaced, for the sake of looks, with a predecessor to the official one-kerb "Mercury" style pod). Note how the second trio of SRBs in the first stage are simply surface-attached to the first set, by eye. This gave it a *cough* slight tendency to spin. -

Tre Kerman climbed to the top of the north pole spire on Duna. Then he BASE jumped off it, landing (with the help of his jetpack) right at the ladder of the rover parked almost a kilometer below.
-
An update: As of today, Tre Kerman has now visited (and planted flags at) both poles of Duna. He's also driven (at least) halfway around Duna, been face to face with the Face, reached the summit of an impressive mountain (which I then named in his honor), stood directly "under" Ike, and BASE jumped off the north polar spire to land right at the ladder of the rover parked almost a kilometer below. Godspeed, brave explorer.

PorkWorks dev thread [Habitat Pack] [SpaceplanePlus]
Commander Zoom replied to Porkjet's topic in KSP1 Mod Development
Nope. I'm still hoping for that "large centrifuge" that was mentioned earlier - even if kerbals can fit into the existing one, I still want a version with a 2m hub to fit my IPV(s)! (doubling the rescale modifier is a quick fix, but that results in a double-sized hatch...) -

Great engineering, great thread. You're putting us oldbies to shame.
