For Duna landings, parachutes can slow you down, but using engines and parachutes is much safer. As this is a VTOL, it should be able to land on Duna quite easily. Be warned that the atmo there is thick enough to burn you up while simultaneously thin enough to not slow you down very much above sea level. You'll need to slow down as fast as possible. Welcome aboard!

Dug up an old craft of mine from 1.0, fixed it for 1.0.4, and added some new, special features. Grasshopper Attack VTOL One Kerbal. One job: To show the world his stunt flying skills. Unlike most VTOLs, the engines are positioned low on the frame of the craft for a 100% boost to coolness factor. Other factors were not measured. The craft features a rotary triple barrel cannon that our engineers assure us makes the finest imaginary gun firing noises available on the market. The cockpit is incredibly tough. Only on rare occasions will your pilot perish. Nearly all of these involve water. DOWNLOAD Enjoy! NOTE: Craft comes with crew capsule attached. This detaches with spacebar on launch. Remember to EVA and transfer to the Command Seat beforehand, though!

The old bird flies well! I won't need to do as much as I thought! -
https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B15Q7Q4_fNpERC1aaHBrUm5vd2c One of the three videos of us messing with this broken toaster shot by a couple of members of our FIRST Robotics team out at Nationals in my freshman year. Now a senior, it's great to go look back at these things. (Hopefully that link works)

[11/26/15 Update] Say Hello to the Light-Green Group!
Starwhip replied to Endersmens's topic in Kerbal Network
As in, you can't get any more bubbles? -
It's so cute! EDIT: [noparse] [/noparse] is the BBCode you're going to want to use. Just copy-paste it.

Which one looks nicer; new Mk1 cockpit or old one
Starwhip replied to Falkenherz's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I feel that the new cockpit fits the existing parts better. However, I still love the old cockpit (our current one.) -
"Duna, Ore Bust!" -- a KSP Graphic Novel (COMPLETE)
Starwhip replied to Mister Dilsby's topic in KSP1 Mission Reports
I have noticed that female Kerbals are a little bit funky. No tongues, and their teeth aren't attached to their mouths. Can't wait for more!- 598 replies

With the new aero it's actually fairly difficult to get to an 80 kilometer orbit, simply because it's tricky to pitch over enough to get a lot of orbital velocity before your apoapsis is at the mark. I try for 80 out of habit, but 100 kilometers is probably easier.

Who else loves seeing the little "Notifications" tab lit up?
Starwhip replied to Starwhip's topic in Kerbal Network
Geez, lately it's been at least one notification every time I log on to the forum. Four rep comments yesterday, three the day before, a load of private messages... -
Hey there robertlong13! I speak from experience, mods are difficult to make. I thought it would be a simple little thing, but I had to put the work on hold for a long time (and plan on getting back to it at some point) after real life got in the way, since it was more daunting than anticipated. MBS Mod So, if you are dedicated enough to carry through, hats off to you! Welcome!

Hey, don't worry. I can understand your post just fine! If you're already lining up for Eve return, you've got quite a lot of experience under your belt. Or you're crazy. Or you just don't care and are going to over-engineer the crud out of the thing. I'll go with the first option. Welcome to the forum!

Hmm. Yes, pictures would help. You might be describing the tech limits of the Tier 1 Space Center buildings. (No EVA, no maneuver nodes, stuff like that.) Welcome aboard! EDIT: Found thread, that's not what's happening. Looks like the others have hit the nail on the head though.

[11/26/15 Update] Say Hello to the Light-Green Group!
Starwhip replied to Endersmens's topic in Kerbal Network
That challenge is still one of my favorites. Look, reputation is what it is: imaginary internet points. It's hard to say whether anyone does or does not deserve it if it doesn't mean anything. Hell, we're all here because of a game. I hope we all realize that what we do here hardly goes beyond the scope of the game, maybe helping a few people get a grasp on some physics problems here and there. If you want something truly worthwhile, go volunteer at an animal shelter, or a hospital, invent some world-changing device, donate to a charity, write a book. -
I'm in love with the tail design, reminds me of my big ol'

anshortage of Atmospheric bodies
Starwhip replied to Rocket Farmer's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
Because that's highly unrealistic. Jets still need oxidizer in the form oxygen in the atmosphere to function. -
Do you have a screenshot that makes you laugh every time?
Starwhip replied to Randazzo's topic in KSP1 Discussion
That's hilarious! XD -
[11/26/15 Update] Say Hello to the Light-Green Group!
Starwhip replied to Endersmens's topic in Kerbal Network
This. Really, getting reputation is tricky. Some of the coolest ships out there hardly get any, but sometimes a single funny (or helpful, or just overwhelmingly true/relevant) post will get you several comments. Doing unique and interesting things is almost a surefire way to get some rep, like my Blender renders of other people's craft. (Which I assure you I'll be getting back to shortly!) Write a KSP fan fiction, or a tutorial. Whatever you choose to do is fine, do it well, like what you do, and if rep comes your way, even better. Never strive for reputation for its face value, of which it has none. If that's all you want, then what you want is pointless. -

Six bars. Thanks to everyone who's ever taken the time to drop by and compliment me on anything I've done. It's been a great ride. Anyways, back to making cool stuff! -
I am a moderator. Yep. Definitely. Just walk on by.
