  1. This is a bug for sure. Decouplers can transfer fuel (90% sure, anyways), but that wouldn't be your problem. I've experienced it myself, where some radial tanks will drain first, upsetting the balance of the craft, but in my case I've only ever had one engine. Remaking the craft usually fixes it, as you have found. Good luck on your future endeavors! Welcome aboard!
  2. 6/10, you're becoming a regular.
  3. How long will you moderators stick around on the forum?
  4. http://imgur.com/gallery/zLGOM /end CTRL+V Oh hey... Here, I've hyperlinked it. http://imgur.com/gallery/zLGOM EDIT: Da what? It auto-linked it!
  5. Nopenopenopenope! (Is it just me or does that look like open-open-open-open? ) Kaboom!
  6. I find this comic to be one of the many that only displays half the truth. Yes, the station is now complete, and yes, it will now be abandoned (in another five years. Or was it fifteen?) but the facility was never "useless". Bountiful scientific knowledge was gained on the ISS, not to mention that it was a way for many countries to collaborate on a peaceful task for the betterment of our species.
  7. Jeb, TREEEE!!!! I finished my new Elcano Challenge craft.
  8. I will complete this challenge, I swear it! Not seaworthy yet. But it's the most promising design yet, outclassing the Dawn Racer.
  9. Give me a texture, shape (I'm assuming cube) and stats and I'll make you an engine.
  10. I say "Lay-THH", same way I pronounce the name of the tool. (Lathe)
  11. I'm running some tests to see if I can get a pure-electric engine working. I think I figured it out. EDIT: There's a way to fudge it. You cannot have engines that run on pure ElectricCharge, because ElectricCharge does not have a density. So, here are the two configs I made. PART { name = CubeshipElectricEngine module = Part author = InsertNameHere mesh = model.mu scale = 1 rescaleFactor = 1 node_stack_top = 0.0, 0.2135562, 0.0, 0.0, 1.0, 0.0, 1 node_stack_bottom = 0.0, -0.1872844, 0.0, 0.0, -1.0, 0.0, 1 TechRequired = ionPropulsion entryCost = 16800 cost = 8000 category = Engine subcategory = 0 title = CubeShip Electric Engine manufacturer = Magical Dwarves Inc description = Magical Engine-ery attachRules = 1,0,1,1,0 mass = 0.25 dragModelType = default maximum_drag = 0.2 minimum_drag = 0.2 angularDrag = 2 crashTolerance = 7 maxTemp = 2000 // = 3600 bulkheadProfiles = size0 MODULE { name = ModuleGenerator isAlwaysActive = true OUTPUT_RESOURCE { name = NanoParticles rate = 10 } } RESOURCE { name = NanoParticles amount = 0 maxAmount = 1 } MODULE { name = ModuleEngines thrustVectorTransformName = thrustTransform exhaustDamage = False ignitionThreshold = 0.1 minThrust = 0 maxThrust = 300 heatProduction = 0 PROPELLANT { name = ElectricCharge ratio = 1 DrawGauge = True } PROPELLANT { name = NanoParticles ratio = 0.1 } atmosphereCurve { key = 0 100 key = 1 100 key = 6 100 } } MODULE { name = FXModuleAnimateThrottle animationName = colorAnimation dependOnEngineState = True responseSpeed = 0.5 } MODULE { name = ModuleTestSubject environments = 15 useStaging = True useEvent = True } } RESOURCE_DEFINITION { name = NanoParticles density = 0.001 unitCost = 0.1 hsp = 2010 flowMode = STACK_PRIORITY_SEARCH transfer = NONE isTweakable = false } The engine generates this second non-massless resource and stores it, so no holding tanks are needed. The main propellant is still electricity.
  12. Hasn't happened to me in my most recent game... yet... Endersmens, you there?
  13. You do kind of live in the middle of nowhere. As for the Kerbal, I think that I might be able to use Blender to create a series of patterns for styrofoam cutouts. If you gave me a thickness I'd put a bunch of planes at that interval and cut out where the Kerbal model intersects.
  14. Fire extinguisher, I said, and garden hose for (assuming we don't need the fire extinguisher) after it dies down (is mostly extinguished).
  15. Partial success, partial fail, no lives lost. The basic idea works though.
  16. I was going to put it in the middle of the large concrete area, and use an old telescope tripod to hold the cup of water with a pull-string release, and stand about ten feet away. Fire extinguisher, of course, as well as the garden hose to put it out if it doesn't pose much of an imminent danger.
  17. They were cheap cruddy candles. I've been thinking of buying one and setting it up in the backyard to try and replicate the explosion. And as I said, the flame was larger than normal, probably three to four inches tall, with the wick leaning over making it wider... I wasn't inclined to go touching it.
  18. Darn this challenge. I can't let it go, and I can't get any further. The Dawn Racer isn't strong enough to compete with ground bugs (at full speed). I need to create another vehicle. Possibly a hybrid electric wheel/jet propulsion thing. I want to put ISRU on it but the converter and other 2.5m parts are just so large and unwieldy.
  19. Yes, I would very much like this. (This has been mentioned many times.)
  20. Nope. Our bathroom is made of tile, the cabinet above the sink (was, we got rid of it) made of metal. And obviously it was a good thing.
  21. Yes, I understand that entirely now (I assumed exactly that before you said it). The fact that I had no idea that candles work that way raises the bigger question. I suppose the original question is answered now.
  22. Really? Hmm. If we still had those candles I'd check what the wax was made of. I'd always assumed that it was just the wick that burned, but now that you say that it makes a ton of sense. (Why the candle doesn't put itself out, for instance. Jeez, why I never knew this is a great question, and dangerous.)
