Finished off the 10x kerbol work for 6.2. Updating to 7 now.
-
Finished up the last launch facility for 10x kerbal. This is support for EVE-7.3 default and Astronmers Pack. Sorry I didn't get to Sonic's yet but I plan to. I will be posting a thread for this some time this weekend. One thing I like to fix Nathan is Duna. The terrain being generated is reaches to 50km so it goes beyond the atmosphere. Do you know what values I need to tune to reduce that variance? What is the per scale values and what values are being uses at 10x. This way I can redo it. At some point I also I like to discuss the format of the *.obj files so I can restore the majestic mountains of kerbin.

To the people wanting a updated 10x kerbal, it is coming. I'm working on the last KSC station. In the config I'm doing there are 4 stations.
-
For the last few weeks I have started to work on the 10x kerbal system config to make it well fun. I will be releasing this soon and wanted to give you a peek into the KSC2 I put together. I want to give lots of thanks to Nathan how took time out to answer my questions.

fig0451 the canyon base is apart of my soon to be released 10x kerbal setup. As for EVE 7.3 you need to set warp = false in RealSolarSystem.cfg. Also some fixes need to be done for the cloud setup. That will be a part of my 10x kerbal release. Note I only have done Astronmer's pack besides the default EVE setup. Haven't got around to Sonic's work yet. As for the picture of the green canyon that is done using EVE overhaul 9-2. -

Hello rbray89. I started testing your overhaul 9-2 with my 10x kerbol RSS configuration. One of my launch sites is inside a canyon but instead of the grey cliff sides I get this -
Hello! I have been working on 10x kerbin RSS and have moved to the point of setting up more ground stations on kerbin. I attempted to create create 2 other Ground Stations but I noticed you need a Guid. So I attempted to create psuedo Guid and use them but it didn't work. Do you know how to create these numbers? So far I have: STATION { Guid = 173d56a6-0b96-791e6ef8-6feb-c99277b137 Name = Highlander Latitude = 20.58070 Longitude = -146.521156 Height = 422.0 Body = 1 Antennas { ANTENNA { Omni = 7.5E+13 } } } STATION { Guid = 76a05777-228c-2c32-7bd8-3f0df22d1b35 Name = Lamp Latitude = 4.2471 Longitude = 109.5422 Height = 40.0 Body = 1 Antennas { ANTENNA { Omni = 7.5E+13 } } }

While playing with 10x kerbal I went to KSC2 and found it in a 800m deep hole. I'm looking to make it a second base but it would be nice to have it not so deep in the ground.Nathan what variable can lessen this effect in RealSolarSystem.cfg?

Eleven: I noticed clouds missing in the opening menu as well. Also the shore line is distorted when you zoom out from the space center. -

I also tested the purposed solution for OVERHAUL 9-2 on linux and it worked. The dll just needs to be built as EVEManager.dll instead of EveManager.dll. -
8k Textures will not help with the flattened mountains. The high resolution texture are only from when you are far eniough from the planet. if I understand it correctly a new normal map would have to be installed to make the mountains look majestic again. As for the hole in the ground I have seen this before. What config are you using? This either deals with the wrong altitude for were the space center is or is a heightmap issue. I know for my 10x kerbin I have issues with the height map which is making me use other sites more challanging.

Thank you rbay89 for looking into fixing the linux platform. Also while trying the latet release I saw this http://www.infradead.org/~jsimmons/overhaul-9.png -
Found the problem with the kerbol 10x configuration. Removing AtmosphereFromGround from the config fixed the problem. I updated my default config at the same location on the OP. Please be aware 10x kerbol is very early in its development. I original created the first version for RSS 5.X. Then I was busy with life so I had not the time to properly support it. Now I'm starting to actually work on. Please be aware in future version of the config KSC might move. The current config's heightmap ends up altering the landscape to not match the biomes correctly. This latest update I moved the KSC to the default stock location but it far from the shore and sunk into the ground. Working on fixing the heightmaps.

Are you using EVE? Is it plain or are you using a artist package as well. If so are you using BetterAtmospheres and what version? Is Astronmer's package installed? Is the sky black at lanch or at the main menu when use are looking at the launch site? What does the tracker map look like?

The config file disables generating the objs for 10X. The reason I do this is that EVE gets really messed up with the recreated objs.

Einkleinermensch: I bet it is the same bug I see. I posted a bug at https://github.com/rbray89/EnvironmentalVisualEnhancements/issues/8. Check your KSP.log to see if it is the same problem. -
Tried out 6.3 with my 10x scale configuration. First I seen that the KSC ended up in the ocean so I moved it over a bit and now it even looks like the run way is about the same distance from the shoreline as in stock. The only problem is that the biome reported is water. So the question is which is better, same distance from the shore line or move it inland to change the biome. Moving it inland will also change the altitude of the land from the default in stock. You can grab the new config at /RealSolarSystem.cfg just like before. With the new launch site configuration option I spun a version 10x kerbal. The goal in mind is to make the second KSC that is present in stock actually usable. So far I can't figure out how to properly place the launch site. So for for the second site I have Site { Name = Inland KSC PQSCity { KEYname = KSC lodvisibleRangeMult = 6 latitude = 20.65760 longitude = -146.420556 repositionRadiusOffset = 422.0 } PQSMod_MapDecalTangent { radius = 10000 heightMapDeformity = 80 absoluteOffset = 0 absolute = true latitude = 20.65760 longitude = -146.420556 } } But it is coming out all wrong. Is there a link to documentation for which variables mean? I'm thinking that PQSMod_MapDecalTangent is the one that is wrong. The variable values appear to be radius and absoluteOffset. How do you know whate value to use?

I updated Astronomer V3 pack to work with a 10x scaled kerbol system for RSS and using EVE 7.3. The only two things I couldn't figure out how to fix was Vall and Bop. Both are broken with EVE 7.3 and RSS. All the reset works. You can grab cloudLayers-Astronomer'sVisualPack.cfg at here. I haven't updated Better Atmospheres yet since I'm waiting on the release of V5. -

rbray89 I just tried a fresh 23.5 install with the only extra beig your overhaul-9. The same results as before with clouds or city lights. This time you can see the problem in the KSP.log. I posted the KSP.log here. An exception is happening that prevents complete loading of EVE. This is on a Linux x86_64 platform so that could be the reason. -
Updated the RealSolarSystem.cfg for 10x kerbol system. Thanks goes to starstrider42 for pointing out the sqrt(10) factor for the rotational periods of planets and moons to preserve the synchronous rotation and escape velocity behaviors. In the stock game Ike is always in the same position in the sky from the surface of Duna. My original configuration file broke that. With the sqrt(10) scale factor it now behaves correctly. With the new numbers a kerbal day is now about 19 earth hours which is much more reasonable. Also the new geostationary orbit is now 28,687,579m.

Just tried out OVERHAUL-9 with normal size and my RSS 10x kerbol system. Only terrian manager comes up for me and their are no clouds or city lights in any case. Also when working with EVE 7.3 with RSS and one of the external packs like sonics or astronomer's work the lighting layer added to say the Mun intersects with the terrain. It helps to increase the altitude but currently EVE limits it to 22K which is not enough to address the problem. I noticed this is still the case in OVERHAUL-9. Could you increase the limit.
