Your smol-sat launcher is awesome looking 331st SLDF RCT FTW! Totally unrelated but I have been playing with TUFX settings... it turned out I liked this one... Thought I wrote down the settings, and then totally lost them And yes that is a Saturn C-2M (monohull first stage) launching a S-IVC to my in orbit Tinker-toy to the Moon train

That is a third party mod interacting poorly with the parachute then. In my experience, There are two major and a few minor mods that really mess with parts sometimes catastrophically. Tweak Everything has been known to bug out BDB Nosecones/parachutes (that would be the first culprit I would look for.) Then any of the KJR family of mods. Just too many niggling issues for me to use them... and yes they HAVE caused issues with weird parachute behavior in the past so it *COULD* be them. A third one could be a bad copy of RealChute and or SafeChute (which do work fine on my system) Beyond that look at mods that alter play-style (Things like SMURF or Skyhawk, FAR, etc... where they do a pretty in-depth conversion of the base files.) Hope that helps, I don't know what is causing your issues but that is what has caused issues for me in the past.

You can consider ArCK To be BDB adjacent along with all of @benjee10's mods. Benjee and CobaltWolf work to nearly the same level of fidelity, reality and quality. Each is better in certain areas but they are so close together it would be like choosing between Michelangelo and Leonardo Da Vinci to do a painting/drawing. The fact is there are parts shared between the two artists in BDB as well as Habtech2/ArCK/ShuCK Sorry I won't stop putting the letter R in that acronym... ARC sounds sooooo much nicer than ACK! You say ACK when things go wrong!

While I am decidedly *NOT* a huge fan of MSFC's NOVA attempts... I can appreciate the work you (and prior to you GoldForest) have put into making those ugly rockets. Thanks for expanding the game! Also nice shots and good job getting those on KerbalX PS so glad no one makes interstages to work to the CORRECT diameters! Because this rocket is so much nicer to look at than a real Saturn C-8 / Nova C-8

No that is a Juno rocket so it can suck gas and die like all evil-doers in this conversation I did some flying today (2.5x KSRSS) And turns out with my test payload (3 ICPS com sats cause they are fun to launch and, since I *THINK* it was Jso's only models for BDB they are somewhat unique.) Scout doesn't QUITE get them to orbit (120x60 was the best I could do) Unless I subbed in a STAR-37 for the final stage then it was something like 380x120 Scout + Castor 1 or 2 was no better (actually it was worse because harder to control BIG scout (Algol + Algol 2nd stage + agena) could hit 300x300 just fine. In fact I deployed 2 of the 3 on oscillated 580x300 orbits. With Castor IV these things flew to infinity and beyond And Big Redstone Agena failed to orbit due to over pitch (I had given it canards so with stock Aero that wasn't totally surprising.) I don't mind Solid Booster stages.. but final circularization is too hard for me to spend my little KSP time I have each week... Hence either Delta P or Agena for me! Although with the new heat management in BDB I am utilizing HOSS a little more than I was before as well. For my next launch... Scout-AJ-260HP (a custom config for the High performance version of the AJ-260 that was NOT man rated!) Kracken bait for sure! 5 seconds after launch... 7G of thrust! (that is SLIGHTLY exagerated)

Laughs in Scout Agena! Yes Scout can be persnickety. The biggest issue is you have to have the right angle at the right speed because Solid be solidish. I have found manually flying them works better than Mechjeb for the solid stages... But it took a lot of practice to get my payloads up (big boi comm sats... I did have Castor 4 (3+2) strapons to do it IIRC.... I will play with it tomorrow night and see.

There is no "Borkieness" with the Solid Rocket Waterfall Effects what so ever! Shut Yer Mouth! All Joking aside, yes there are a lot of issues caused by Solid Rocket Waterfall effects... The actual engine plumes are pretty good. And before anyone asks, this was me testing the Saturn S-IVC (the real one not the ETS one) with a Saturn C-2 launch (attempting an All C-1 / C-2 to the moon and back mission 2.5x KSRSS I was playing with TUFX (still need to read how to SAVE what I played with because even though it is green blooming... I kinda like it as a "PAL" ish TV type on an American ATSC/NTSC TV (due to the crazy interpolation between no TINT adjustment (PAL) to a Red/Green Tint Adjustment (US ATSC) anyone in the United States on an ATSC watching "real" football (Soccer) actually knows what I mean... EVEYTHING is "WAY TOO MUCH" green. So if it wasn't Clear... YES that is the S-IVC with it's forward and aft Docking ports (the real world NASA on not the Alt History ETS one) YES the Solid Rocket Waterfall mod has issues (but they still look good) YES I was joking when I said Shut Yer Mouth YES I like playing in TUFX and YES I kinda know a bit about TVs... Anyone want a signed TV construction diagram on a Napkin?

So still building my new ISS station. Just started launching the russian Segment... Utilizing Delta IV Heavy UPG... I am not posting a full album but I thought I would share this: Twin MB-60 DCSS. Had to toe the engines out by 5 degrees so they wouldn't hit each other but it works and it fits! Now if the damn game wouldn't quit crashing when I get this NEAR the space station!

I found the issue late last night after my initial post. Auto-Stage TO STAGE X was set to an invalid number *FACEPALM* Sorry I didn't get back here to post a correction... Things went sideways in my launches after that... I had 3 exploded Space stations to deal with (Probe and droge docking ports don't work well when you are using them backwards....) I will say that building the LM first and then building Saturn arround it seem to be the only way to do this. And if you use something like Editor extensions for your autostruts you have to go in and manually remove it from each part of the rover after you do that. I have not launched one yet but I used this guide to try to build on the other day (I am doing some testing of some parts in BDB right now and Wanted to see how the rover worked... to complicated given what else I was doing so I temproarly scrapped making it... but have thought about it a lot since reading the wiki yesterday That may work ***I THINK***. But doing it to all the patches will absolutely BREAK BDB. The only issue with doing this to the real-name patch that I see is any iterative parts (where the same model is used for two different parts... Like the J-2T-400K vs the J-2T, then you have the wrong real-name on the J-2T-400K because you said FIRST and the part copy is AFTER first. And I FREELY admit I may be wrong on that! The whole reason for zzzBluedog_DB, and it's itterations (eg xxx_1, xxx_2) is to sort the order different patches are applied to the parts, and to apply the patches after the core game runs things... PS very good catch Gordon Dry!

Funny, I had the same problem last night with the dev version of MechJeb I am using and the Delta II (late) Tower. Start the engines... no auto stage Probably should post in the MLP forum however... Also several of the most reacent Dev builds for MechJeb seem to be messing with "airplane guidance" That could be a cause. You can download old revisions of Mechjeb if you go to the forum post and choose "MechJeb 2 Dev" at the bottom of the OP post (that Is where I got my dev copy LAST YEAR) But I think this is a MLP change that causes this issue, and not a MechJeb Issue on it's own.

Weellll I have an answer for this but it is likely not something you will want to spend the time on... the S-IVC Ring tug. It was about 1 or 1.5 meters tall (I don't have the drawing in front of me ATM) I DMed it to you when I first got the Saturn C-2 and C-3 documents because that was where I found it (and the S-IVC!) Oh I think there were like 32 RCS ports on the tug. The Tug was capable of docking on either end of the S-IVC. Also C-3 daisy chain to the moon (and beyond) used side docking ports to refuel the S-IVC chain in orbit from fresh launched S-IVB tankers (probably S-IVD) There was no drawing for that however as I recall (or I would have DMed it as well.) NTRS report 19740076058 that is a contractor document so you will only find it on web.archive.org

Would there be any interest in a "real names" patch? I don't know about the rest of you but I have a hard time finding "the right engine" with all the made up names... I can't separate RL from In game experiences I guess
