Well, I would guess Elon is trying to become the "Ford" of space travel with the "Model T" of boosters

When they get re-flown they should be christened "Alpha, Beta, Gamma," etc. Then if they get a third flight it could be the "Alpha-2" mission etc. They have to be initiated into the reflight club to earn a Name . Much better than tracking core Serial Number XXXX

Classic movie that I watched a few zillion times

Well, as I posted earlier, the poll originally asked if humans had landed in the moon (typo since fixed) which is why I voted no. Easentially adding the usual noise to the statistic

i speak the Canadian variety of English, eh. Although I speak a West Coast accent, so I don't sound like when, for instance, Saturday Night Live (TV variety comedy show) is making fun of us Canucks. Aussi, je parle un peu de Francais. (Also, I speak a bit of French). Grade 11 level, and it's been a long time since then, so if I got some of that wrong, excusez-moi.

Stuck Tourist - Help me get him home
StrandedonEarth replied to BentRim's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
The Klaw can grab without a docking port on the target ship and allows kerbal transfers, although it can be tricky to trigger it. The target surface should be as close to 90o to the approach vector as possible, and you have to hit it kind of hard, which can make the target bounce away if it doesn't grab. Good Luck, and welcome to KSP! -
Stuck Tourist - Help me get him home
StrandedonEarth replied to BentRim's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Hmm. I would guess that the service bay is making it flip. Have you tried setting your Pe under 30km from your parking orbit? I imagine your probe core is in the service bay. But you can set your chute to deploy when safe, trigger it, and then try to burn the service bay off before it flips. Or you could send a rescue ship with a Klaw (if available) to dock and transfer the tourist to a more robust ship. -
Claw too painful to use.
StrandedonEarth replied to Acolyte's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
It can be tough, I think you need the surface to be engaged at close to 90o to your approach vector. And you do need to hit it fairly hard, more than 1m/s. Which makes it harder because it goes bouncing off if the Klaw doesn't engage. -
Same for most of Canada, except those in the Greater Vancouver area.

And now it's morning. I took out the measuring tape and it's a solid 24 inches (60cm) deep or more in spots! The snow is more than halfway up the fence in spots! That may just be a record for this region. I tell you what though, the kids are sure having fun. The bulldozer left mountains of snow over ten feet high in spots! The adults, however, think that ....

That sums up our weekend. It's been snowing most of the time for the last two days, with more coming tomorrow. This was taken this morning, it's night now. We had a bulldozer working our townhouse complex for eight hours so we could get out.... The wind is making some crazy drifts, but it's keeping a lot of the vehicles mostly snow-free

Or, you could wire a generator to an electric motor, and drive the generator with said motor. That was my brilliant idea when I was ten... Unfortunately for both of our ideas, there's this thing called "The Law of Conservation of Energy" which says that energy cannot be created or destroyed, only converted from one form to another. Of course, there are usually losses associated with that conversion, unless you're converting to heat, which is where losses generally ultimately end up. E=mc2 allows energy to be converted to and from mass, but a tiny amount of mass contains a stupendous amount of energy, which is what makes nuclear power and bombs so powerful. In other words, you cannot get out more energy than you put in. Losses due to friction and/or electrical resistance mean such attempts at perpetual motion will slow and eventually stop, warming up in the process.

A patch to completely rip out the old version and replace it with the all-new version, I would think....

Works for either of the last two posts....

Stock or mod, it would be best to have options. Default on, drawing from the stock screen pool and the screenshot folder, with options to: a) disable stock images b) change or add folders to draw images from. I wouldn't want the screenshot folder to be the only option, as it may end up with garbage or accidental screenshots in there. Of course, images could always be added to the screenshot folder if one wanted, but the more options, the better! But I certainly like the idea!

10/10 Fairly new, but pretty busy post-wise lately.
