  1. Yes, the 8th Saros cycle has been confirmed.
  2. Throwing my hat in the ring. What about Gemini 8? I don't have any specific reasoning other than it hasn't been mentioned yet.
  3. This is true. In the 2015-04-11 Squadcast You can use only one fairing piece if you want, but nobody seems to be listening to me.
  4. YOU CAN ALREADY HAVE CLAM SHELL DEPLOYMENT WITHOUT ANY CHANGES TO THE FAIRING SYSTEM!
  5. It is my guess that the photo presented is simply a glamour shot showing the different pieces. (FASA and NovaPunch fairings separate as shown in the pic) It is my understanding that the fairings are semi-procedural in that they can be shaped with the Mouse, meaning if you would like fairing halves then you would have only two pieces. But if you want more sections they would decouple as shown. From the 4-11 Squadcast (Curtesy of ObsessedWithKSP)
  6. Are you using any mods? IF you are using DRE then you need to be going less than about 300m/s before deploying chutes. Faster and they will burn up.
  7. If you ate just outside kerbins soi it is entirely possible that the rounding errors are putting you back inside kerbins soi. What you should do is get a significant portion of an orbit behind kerbon, then put one opposite kerbin in its orbit. You want to match kerbins orbital period, which might be difficult.
  8. Generally I design the rocket for the payload. I need to lift 20t to LKO, no problem. I need to get it to the Mun? That's a bigger rocket. I've only recently started standardizing my rockets, but if I put up a payload with a rocket, I consider that the Maximum Payload Weight for that rocket and anything lighter than that get's the rocket attached, anything heavier gets a new rocket designed.
  9. Simmer down bro. Just because a thread got moved doesn't mean it's been ignored. The Mods move threads to the appropriate place so that they can get the help they need. From what I can tell Kethane is broken in .90, I suggest removing it and attempting to duplicate the issue.
  10. I'm sure they have, you're just missing a step. When you get your close approach lined up and less than 2.5km (<1km is preferred, but not required) change your velocity indication to target (Click where it says orbit and it should change) At this point point relative velocity retrograde and warp to close approach. when you get to your close approach burn retrograde until your relative velocity is close to zero. At this point turn towards your target and make a small burn to start going in that direction. RCS really helps here. This video may be a little dated, but the info is still good.
  11. I would assume so, create a faring that is just the base ring, then the cone. The cone jettisons while the base ring stays in place.
  12. There is probably a decoupler or some other non-crossfeed part between your two tanks. You have 552m/s of dV left in your current stage, so probably that bottom FL-T400 fuel tank (You appear to have two of them there) KSP Will always draw fuel from the furthest tank first, so your top FL-T400 drains to empty before your bottom FL-T400, and because of your decoupler your satellite fuel tank (The FL-T100) doesn't drain at all.
  13. Oh...Oh well. I will just have to get better at hiding them then. Thank you.
  14. If I might make a suggestion: I would lime to see an increase in the large black wing radiators (the ones that don't fold) so that a single, upgraded fusion reactor only needs 2 of them instead of the current 4. This would make them easier to incorporate into designs without the result looking horrible.
  15. The patcher doesn't do anything to saves. It simply redownloads the base game and replaces core files. If there isn't a file to replace the patcher leaves it alone.
  16. ok, easy fix. Delete the affected file (Why you're opening the .mu is beyond me, that's a 3d file, what you want is the .cfg) and run the patcher.
  17. Come down gently, skim through the upper atmosphere as long as possible. You're going to glide most of the way around Kerbin. For Capsules, if your periapsis is lower than about 20km, you are probably going to explode.
  18. With both the Mun and Minmus the Gravity is so low, and their rotation so slow that it has no effect.
  19. But the difference in orbital speed from the Equator to the poles is far less than that. While there is a difference, it is only maybe a few m/s, not enough to worry about in the grans scheme of things.
  20. You can also click the arrow on top of the navball, if you only want to hide the navball.
  21. I've never heard of a malicious mod. I just Dual boot Linux for my KSP fix.
  22. Pop open you persistence file andscroll all the way to the bottom. find and rename your kerbal (and change stats if you want)
  23. I usually set whatever I'm trying to dock at as my target, then wait util the pink meatball (Target Prograde) is just visible on the edge of my Navball while sitting on the pad. Launch and ascend as normal. then it's only a few minor corrections to get within range, I usually put my apoapsis slightly higher than my targets, the plop a maneuver node at the second intersection (The purple triangles) and adjust my orbit there until I get to less than 2km.
  24. I dual boot Ubuntu, it's easy enough to do, you will have to partition your hard drive, but Linux provides a tool to do just that during install. If you want to play KSP simply check out the Linux support thread and follow the directions. http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/92231-The-Linux-Thread?p=1380984#post1380984
  25. No idea. It is a tad superfoulus in my experience.
