This is my first rover on Duna, but I wanted a garage to go with my Duna Command Center (DCC). So this is what I came up with. The rover is encased inside a protective box to transport it out to Duna and then it can easily land on the surface and deploy. After it lands, you pop the blast doors and the rover can be released. Then the container acts as a garage for the rover and the rover can dock on the surface to a small docking port on the inside of the box! This rover has vertical takeoff engines, solar panels, parachutes, landing gear, ion engines, and 6 wheel drive, seats 2 Kerbals, has lights. This thing is fun to roll around on Duna with, just disable the reaction wheel in the middle for optimal performance on Duna. The rover tends to want to leave the ground with it on, so just turn it off. If you include fuel on the garage or make a duplicate with fuel on it, this rover could be refueled on the surface of Duna! Check out the video below for the mission and landing. Download the rover here: Duna Rover It comes with a launch stage and transfer stage ready to go, just launch it off to Duna or wherever just like I did in the video. Enjoy!

Leviathan Star Ship Cruiser

It requires hack gravity and infinite fuel to get it into orbit right now so that's why I didn't put it up, but if you still want it... Here you go: Leviathan Cruiser -
Rockets and Rovers.

I usually put my rovers into protective transfer boxes and drop them onto moons or Duna. Stand clear of the blast doors. If you build something around your rover, you can attach rockets to that and then eject the rover. -

What to do after DUna
700NitroXpress replied to Liowen's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Pro tip: Use Ram air intake engines and never use the radial intakes, replace the radial intakes with Ram intakes by attaching the intakes to small girders. Overall, your SSTO is nice, small is good, just add a little more fuel. You can use the combo tanks for the jet engines, but it's kind of a waste. If you go to the space craft exchange and the rocket builders, you can find some companies that are really good at making SSTO's, good for getting ideas. -
What to do after DUna

Well, if you're not opposed to helpful ships, here's a transfer stage that can take over 100 tons of payload anywhere in the solar system. I used it to take a space station out to Eeloo so it should get you anywhere you want to go as long as you dock it in orbit. If you retain all of the grey tanks and engines during the ascent, you can refuel them in orbit and then it will have enough fuel to go to Moho and back to Kerbin round trip for sure. What to do after DUna
700NitroXpress replied to Liowen's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
We all started out that way, it took me 10 planes just to figure out what to do, even then they sucked. But after a few more, you start noticing things that work really well and that drives future designs. I went out to Moho before I went to Duna, so that would be my recommendation. Moho takes a lot of Delta V to get to and back to Kerbin, but it's easier than tackling Eve. Gilly is too easy, Ike would also be a fair destination, I haven't landed on Ike yet myself. -

Get an SSTO, tow that sucker out to Laythe and fly it around the planet, then return to Kerbin and land that SSTO on the KSC runway. -

Here's my new Helios V Deep Space Station, 4 Nuclear Engines and 40 Ion Engines, more modules are coming soon. -
You need to send it into orbit and then deorbit it right down into the water next to the KSC and watch it from the shore line.

Space Station of the Year Challenge

Minimum of 7 cores?... Well my precious computer processor, I love you, but this is going to hurt... Here's the first core of my Helios V in orbit of Kerbin. More details coming soon, additional cores are made and are on the way up. I'll just edit this one post to add more details later. Here's the main core station launch vehicle. Helios V deployed in orbit. -
That can be done, my ship is in the 600 ton range so I know I could launch the whole thing from the surface, but it would be a real pain to rig with struts so it doesn't break apart on the launch pad. You would have to keep the part count under 1500 and that would be hard for such a large ship. Trying to construct one ship and do one launch in this way is inefficient and overly stressful on your computer, so there's no point in doing it this way especially since the rules recommend you build the ship in orbit.

The Versatility Marathon Challenge

Welcome aboard, your ship is approved for missions, good luck! -
Ziv: Are video entry submissions accepted? My new and improved Jool V ship is ready for it's voyage out of Kerbin SOI. I also have a screenshot of the starting stats, part count, and weight. To get to this point was 8 launches, 1 for the command ship, one for the transfer stage, 4 for the landers, and 2 for refueling.
