  1. New missions will be up later tonight, sorry for the delay.
  2. Ziv: How would you treat an armada mission? Multiple ships that are all launched into LKO and then all transferred out to Jool at the same time as one mission. Is this kind of thing allowed?
  3. Yeah, a lot of the engines are gone, but this has more than enough fuel for visiting all of the moons, the return journey is another story. I'm not sure if it will make the trip all the way back to Kerban, but getting to Duna should be no problem so I could put it into orbit around Duna and refuel there, then just head back to Kerban and land on the Runway. We'll see, I don't know how it will react with all of the landers gone. Under that docking shield is another set of engines.
  4. Here are my mission updates: Screenshot 1: Jool Inclination burn Screenshot 2: Jool Intercept trajectory Screenshot 3: Dropping one set of drop tanks Screenshot 4: Arrival at Jool, commencing Laythe inclination burn
  5. Use mine: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/57409-Leviathan-Heavy-Lifter
  6. Yeah, the landers use regular asparagus staging. However, the transfer stage uses my drop tank to regular asparagus staging. Each one of those landers is capable of achieving orbit of Kerban at 100 km orbit with 50% fuel remaining in the last stage so I'm fairly confident that they'll have more than enough to handle every moon. I've only ever landed on Laythe and Vall, so the others will be interesting. As for part count of the whole thing, I didn't really check it at the beginning, but it's around 1300 parts and 500 tons total at the start from LKO. After half way through the transfer stage and 1/4 of the way to Jool, which is where I am now. I'm at 1211 parts and 410 tons. So it's getting lighter as I go, but the part count won't reduce by much until after the landings. I'll get the actual figures for you once I arrive at Jool. Got a 30 minute burn time from the time of this post. I'm also encouraging my guys taking part in my Versatility Marathon Challenge to go and take on this challenge during the holiday break, I'm seeing a lot of skilled ship designers over there, so I want them to give this challenge a shot with their current ships or make a new one for this challenge. I really like this challenge and I've been meaning to do it for a while, just wasn't sure how long it would take, or what ship design to go with.
  7. Alright then, good to hear. I'm going for Level 3 all vanilla game. I also intend to land all 5 kerbals on the KSC runway while still in my command ship as the main command module is a SSTO. Here's my ship pics so far. This is 7 launches total, one for the main command ship, one for the super sized transfer stage, 4 for the lander pods, and 1 for a refueling launch before takeoff for the mission.
  8. Ziv: Questions Why isn't there something on your leaderboard that shows what level the winners have completed the challenge at? Or has everyone done Level 1 only? Any bonus for doing the challenge with a completely stock game with no mods or optimal flight window information or anything like that?
  9. Wouldn't it be better to see the actual max G Force induced through the F3 flight log?
  10. Thanks, if you guys want something extra to do during the break, I strongly encourage taking on the Jool 5 challenge level 3 as I'll be doing it myself today. I would like to give bonus points here for those of you who complete it and also make some special conditions to add more points. So for those of you who love points and didn't get as many from the missions as you had hoped, give it a shot. I would recommend that you build your landers now, but I'm not sure if you should attempt this with your versatility challenge ship. However, if you do complete this challenge with your versatility challenge ship, you will receive double your current score on the leaderboards. To do this you must complete the Jool 5 challenge at level 3 and you are forbidden from refueling during the mission. Otherwise follow the Jool 5 challenges official rules. I'll add more to this on Friday along with the new mission. Let me know what you guys think.
  11. Announcement to everyone: This Friday will have the last new mission until 1/10/14 as I will be away on vacation during the holidays. I will also be unavailable to answer any questions from 12/12/13 - 12/15/13. I leave for the holidays on 12/22/13 so after that Sunday, I won't be available until I get back on 1/10/14. Please ask your questions or have your missions complete by the 22nd if you want it to be added to the leaderboards by that time. Happy Holidays! -NITRO
  12. This already exists for signatures, just get the ribbons like I have in my signature.
  13. Docking mode switches the WASD controls to JLHN, or maybe JLIK, I'm not really sure what the exact swap is, but it's one of those. So basically the regular translation controls get swapped into the WASD, which is kind of useless once you learn how to dock with the regular translation controls. I only used it once and never went back.
  14. Yeah, you need fuel for the RCS engines to work, slap on some monopropellant and then just use the default translation controls. IKJLHN, once you're used to it, you'll never need/want to switch to docking mode.
  15. Here is my no debug console entry, Time 1:53 Use whichever entry makes you feel better, I'm fine with either.
  16. Beat the time too. New Time 1:05 It's possible to do it around 0:55 seconds, but it's hard.
  17. Yeah, it never says no debug options. Kind of makes it more interesting, give it a shot.
  18. Alright, thanks for the hyper edit info guys. Also, If I put a craft into a circular orbit of Kerban going 2200 m/s and then go through all of the stages, it goes from 2200 m/s to 13200 m/s, so isn't that 11000 m/s delta V? Good enough for sea level of Eve?
