Allow surface attachment for all parts
r4pt0r replied to Stoney3K's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
I support this idea. I find it rather vexing when I need a part to attach a part. Just let me slap it on. -
At least we shut down squads idea of "experienced pilots can get more thrust and isp out of their engines". Mining I don't care about accelerating through the dumb game mechanics, the engineer just means I timewarp less. The career/xp system certainly needs refining or replacing, but I'd worry they would try to add the nonsense stat boosting again.

we just put one on the ISS, would be great to have real world developments added to the game as they happen. also, I would really love a telescope part, or a mirror assembly part. Other than the ISS, Hubble is likely what the average person on the street can tell you is in space. so why cant we hubble in stock KSP? As much fun as I have pretending that my structural fuselage with 2 panels on either side is a telescope, something else would be nice.

They have denied that, and said it was just a coincidence. Even if its not, its a little bit of dark humor, ease up a bit. Its no worse than when they parodied the theory that the Challenger crew was still alive as they fell.

concerning yes, but they didnt even include an anchor point to secure it from so it can be worked on in space. They know once it launches, thats it. done. there is no getting to it. a flaw in my opinion as well, but i suppose real life isnt ksp and a repaircraft or mission cant be whipped up in a few short minutes on 30k funds.

Question: I was trying to find out how the JWST would compare to hubble. One source told me the JWST could "see at a resolution of 0.1 arc-seconds, which means that it could resolve a penny 24 miles (40 kilometres) away or a football 340 miles (550 kilometres) away" another source told me about the hubble "Hubble's so-called angular resolution — or sharpness — is measured as the smallest angle on the sky that it can resolve (i.e. see sharply). This is 1/10 of an arcsecond (one degree is 3600 arcseconds). If Hubble looked at the Earth — from its orbit of approximately 600 km above the earth’s surface — this would in theory correspond to 0.3 metres or 30 cm So I really dont get what the improvement will be, other than the Webb specializing in infrared(not to belittle that feat).

considerably, and the hubble pics look great, cant wait for these.

Possible Planet Additions (Revised)
r4pt0r replied to Samio's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
No, i agree with the sentiment completely. Come on @SQUAD, I've personally been asking for another planet/moon system for almost 3 years. Theres just some realism in knowing that a good bit of the original team has gone, or been gone for some time. Most of the money to be made on KSP has already been made, and there's no incentive to the heads at corporate to continue working so much, especially when the answer to "what should squad add" can be answered with "theres a mod for that" If that came off as dickish, my apologies. just fairly pessimistic about the future of ksp. I think we are looking at final product, just about. -
Possible Planet Additions (Revised)
r4pt0r replied to Samio's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
Its not like its a necro when its a still relevant topic. We are approaching 4 years since Eeloo was added, in December of '12. I still pine for GP2 and its many moons. Since then we have done real life science at Ceres, Comet 67P/Churyumov–Gerasimenko, and Pluto. assuming Eeloo becomes a GP2 moon, I think theres room for a new "Pluto-like" body, and a comet. Realistically, Squad wont do anything else like that. They have the console version out, sales up the wazzoo between that and PC no doubt to care about the wants of the peasantry. KSP is all but finished being developed. Few more polishing updates, Flying Tiger shores up the console version, and they can all move on, as the development cycle for the game comes to a complete close. This is how the game industry generally works, an unfortunate fact of life. -
Thanks. my thinking is if they are going to have duplicate xp for landing and for planting, then yeah, witnesses should gain that too
-
Suggestion: Kerbals(or command pods with kerbals inside) gain Flag planting XP if within 100m of a flag planting. I've been out of ksp for a while and just got back in. I forgot how tedious it is to plant and remove flags for each crew member. It adds unnecessary grind in my opinion.

Greek/Roman deities, historical figures, or weapons. My most ambitious would be the "Madness of Caligula", a many times designed, never successful supermothership bigger than any of my usual craft. and it has red lights, because madness or whatever.

I see you edited something about kopernicus, am I just to overwrite the KSPRC kopernicus with 1.1.3 kopernicus from the thread here? perhaps that will fix my experienced issues. Here are my screens of my problems, as of today. This is with updated Kopernicus as well. by no means gamebreaking, and kerbin looks fine in-game but I just wonder what im doing wrong that it is happening. Oh well, I'll go on. http://imgur.com/a/JmJF5

mind walking me through it? I was getting some very weird graphical errors. shadows that appeared when you zoomed out from the launchpad, kerbin has a weird yellow line grid sort of thing too in the menu.

Hijacking this thread. So when can I see some neato pics from Juno? Im looking for a new desktop wallpaper.

Picked up Cities skylines, pillars of eternity, Some Rome2 DLC and Sky rouge. Looking at Superhot, some Rise of Flight DLC, SOMA, and Squad. And though its not on sale, looking hard at Examina. Its early access, and quite unfinished but I really like what the Devs have done, and would support them to help them finish it. Its sort of a strange physics based dungeon crawl:

I play only stock, so theres that. Testing the hover thing: MJ is the greatest basketball player of all time.

7 or 8 years ago I was really into the game. played online with hyperlobby, kept a running word document listing: My craft\Enemy craft\Manner of kill and red hashes where it was I who was killed. Those were some damn fun times.

I would want to know the caveats of that particular immortality. will I continue to age and just never die, even as I spend thousands of years as an arthritic, blind, deaf husk of a man? Do I regenerate wounds and stay youthful? My answer would depend on those variables, things like that.

So, Dres Asteroids? Where the heck are they??
r4pt0r replied to Der Anfang's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Having never gone to Dres(like any respectable KSP player), I didnt know, but I thought the Dres-teroids were a stock feature? -
Well certain words and phrases are being highlighted by my browser and turned into ads. Here is an image: This is standard Chrome by the way. The internet said to delete any chrome extensions I am unfamiliar with, and I have but the problem is unresolved. Any suggestions?

Having just gotten into Dwarf Fortress, I hope Toady keeps working on that for a very long time.

CKAN/Steam Workshop
r4pt0r replied to Aperture Science Employee's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
I begrudgingly accept that, but would like to know if the curse integration will ever come to fruition.
