  2. essential is not a good term. ive done a good share of interplanetary missions and i play 100% stock. you dont NEED readouts. if thats your playstyle feel free to get one of the dozens of mods that add DV counters.

  7. individual threads are easier to follow than 55 pages of madness And a question here for the devs/rowsdower: Harvs update #3 says we earn reputation for completing contracts. if i am not doing a contract but i land on the mun on my own or whatever, do i earn reputation?
  8. fair point, but again, you should end up with a much longer rocket. cliping to make it shorter makes it much easier to launch and control. it changes your CG lol seriously, its nice we can carry on this discussion, these things normaly get locked.

  11. depends on the victims really. if they were a proverbial startrek redshirt, no tears are shed. if it was one of my heroic planet conquering veterans, then yes, i roll back the clock.
  12. just to clarify a few things, mechjeb is cheating, and if you can make an ssto because you have 10 orange tanks hidden inside 1 orange tank, thats cheating too. yes you still have to lift its mass, but you should need to worry about size. something like that should be as long as a train but you compact it like that and it changes the handling of the craft. any craft i see that abuse clipping like that i immediately disregard. ive never used the debug menu and i never plan on it.
  13. blatant speculation here, but i think planes make sense. after contracts and budgets in .24, whats the next big thing on squads to do list? i think it'd be aerodynamics. and with that would come refined/new spaceplane parts

  16. i think the best way would be just have the stock "dv remaining burn counter thingy" turn red if the planned node isnt possible with the craft. but for me anxiously watching the node is half the fun. my most exciting missions end with 1 or 2 units of fuel left.

  18. I too would enjoy meatier(meteor?) devnotes. also it seems like half the team is always working on the animation video for the update, not the update itself. unless when they say animation they are referring to in-game animations, in which case please be specify.
  19. but have you invested over a year and more than 1200 forum posts in any of those games? ksp obviously is something special and will continue to be popular. i think these first time devs are doing just fine. the devnotes could use more meat, but they dont HAVE to communicate with us at all. im thankful they do. all of your posts in every thread are terribly negative. you should watch a classic Jackie Chan movie to lighten your spirits. i suggest "the legend of the drunken master". excellent choreography and it also has witty humor, even if you watch the translated english dubbed version.
  20. My Design for Duna Landers always use two of the short solid boosters to kick myself out of the thin atmosphere and into partial orbit. Ive also been contemplating using that method for slowing down on a tylo decent. So i was hoping to see others UNIQUE uses for solid fuel boosters. EDIT: if i get time tonight ill load up a screenshot of mine.
