  1. Tried it on 1.11.1 - all the aforementioned bugs appears to be still present (again, I'm not sure what causes these issues - KSRSS, Switcher, SD, Kopernicus or KSP itself). Some notes on "floating parcel of land" at Canaveral: - when you switch to CCAFS in TS and go back to the KSC scene, it appears to generate normally first. Then, after a second or so, floating square island appears - with corresponding hole under it. - This island is not flat(!) and has cactus scatter on it(!!). - This bug appears only with terrain detail set on High and affects only CCAFS - all other launch sites behave normally. - This island prevents clicking on buildings - except a) VAB, SPH and western tip of the runway, which stick out of it and you can click on these parts and b) if you move camera to look under island, you can click on buildings there. Buttons work normally. - The KSC itself appears to sit at the right altitude, as evidenced by the runway. - If you try to launch a rocket, it would sit on island, not at the actual launch pad. - If you try to launch from runway, plane or whatever you launched would sit on runway at the right altitude. You can ride or fly under the island, and you also can collide with it. You also can fall into the hole. - This could be some leftover from 0.6.1, where CCAFS was default launch site. So far, I haven't found anything in configs to support that. Editing Earth.cfg launch site section back to its 0.6.1 values did not produce any result. I should say that it looks VERY similar to some of Danny2462's videos, with Danny breaking Kerbin surface in numerous ways.
  2. Thank you for all your hard work on it! As for 0.7, it works fairly well in rescale if you leave terrain detail at default and use latest Kopernicus and Sigma Dimensions. Shadows are borked, but AFAIK this is a stock 1.9.1+ problem which can be fixed to some extent by using scatterer. Space center camera can sometimes stuck well above space center, especially after switching to another location; going to VAB\SPH (not tracking station!) and back seems to fix that (I start to suspect this may be a switcher bug - it's a really ancient mod that haven't been updated for 1.9.1+).
  3. There should be only one settings.cfg in KSP folder. And yes, it's supposed to reappear. What you're doing here is basically resetting this particular KSP installation to its factory settings to avoid any potential conflicts, so KSP creates a new one with default settings (which you're supposed to change to your liking) There is 0.7 beta which can be played on 1.11 with latest Kopernicus, but it still has some problems (namely bugged Earth color texture when 8K is selected, and bugged Cape Canaveral terrain when terrain detail is set on high). If these are of no concern to you, feel free to try it. You can find a link to Gitlab a couple of pages up.
  4. Generally, you want at least 16GB for any major planet pack. 32GB if you wish to use high-res textures and\or add some part-heavy mods like BDB. 8GB pretty much guarantees constant crashes due to low memory. Note that most (if not all) dV maps assume that KSC is located at its stock position, i.e. equator. This is not the case with KSRSS - the closest thing you can get is Kourou. This means that some dV requirements could actually be bigger - for example, you'll have to factor in the plane change if you want to launch to GEO.
  5. The Moon surface turns pitch black when you fly at low altitudes. Seems to affect only 0.6.1 - tried 0.7 on 1.11.1, the Moon is fine.
  6. Unfortunately, these didn't work. Any combo still leads to black moon, and new SD didn't fix the floating land at High preset. Same goes on 1.11.1. I've just noticed another visual bug: in VAB scene, parts of launch pad and crawlerway look like made out of glass. Not sure if it's related to the black Moon, but who knows? Bug is present on both 1.8.1, 1.10.1 and 1.11.1 (screenshot is from the latter)
  7. "High" preset causes terrain bugs at CCAFS (floating square of land above it) with 2.5x rescale. Not a Kopernicus bug - it's a known KSRSS problem. OP mentions something called "KSRSS Med", but there is no such setting (guess it's a leftover from past versions). Trying on "Default": -1.8.1: Default terrain, scatters on, full res textures, terrain shader high, 1440p fullscreen, everything else is default. Seems to work okay even after several loads and restarts, no black Moon. -1.10.1: Same settings, EVE and scatterer are updated for latest versions just in case - black Moon. -Back to 1.8.1 to see if I forgot something, no I didn't, back to main menu without making any changes, launching save to check... aaaaand black moon. On a build that worked flawlessly literally 15 minutes ago. I don't even.
  8. Hmm. What pack do you use? My config is 8K textures + VE High + high-res clouds (although the latter two shouldn't influence Moon in any way, I think)
  9. Well "lag" is pobably an over-reaction What actually happens is quite heavy stuttering - it starts as soon as you go to launch pad. You can even notice scatters (palm trees in case of Cape Canaveral, for example) vanishing if you turn camera towards them as soon as scene loads. It also spams the log with "removing scatter" line.
  10. Here's another bug with KSRSS and Kopernicus v30: the Moon surface appears pitch-black. This bug is present in both 1.8.1 and 1.10.1 (haven't tried other versions). Removing Scatterer does not fix this. KSP.log: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B-l1kSh8cSSAS000WFU5blNwSFU/view?usp=sharing
  11. Um, yeah? First time I've ever heard of such message...
  12. See the post above. You should download Kopernicus v30 or later. Can confirm that it works on 1.10.1 (haven't tried it on 1.8.1, but it should work too). The only problem I've ran into is massive lag due to Kopernicus' terrain scatter scrubber.
  13. Thank you!!! Trying this on 1.10.1 (I have some quite old part mods in my install and I'm not sure yet how they would work with 1.11 and its mass changes, so going safe for now). Seems to load correctly (including VE pack). "Underground KSC" bug for 2.5x rescale is still present, as is its fix (load TS and go back). KSCSwitcher works fine. One major bug is massive lag on some scatter-heavy locations (namely CCAFS) due to Kopernicus constantly removing terrain scatters. You can increase the scatter cull distance, but this just "moves" lag from surface to space.
  14. THAT would be a game-changer. KSRSS is the only thing that forces me to use 1.8.1.
  15. Yep, can confirm that 0.6.1 does not load on latest Kopernicus in 1.8.1. I'm not on my gaming PC right now, so I'll send logs later (where to, BTW - here, Kopernicus thread, Github issue?) KSRSS is one of the few planet mods that does use its own DLL.
  16. I know Unfortunately, these features may be hard to incorporate into replica flights. Staging LR-87 earlier (yes, even at T-10s) leads to a massive TWR spike, which may be not good. And jettisoning Gemini B during or after 2nd core stage burnout may lead to it landing somewhere in Africa or Indian Ocean (trust me, I've tried!). Not to metion that jettisoning it with 2nd stage burning usually leads to disaster.
  17. Download the latest "master" build from Github - they are there. The one meant for Nimbus 3 is called PB-PANS-19M and is located in Basic Science techtree node.
  18. OPS 0855, aka OV4-3 (NB: If you want to complete this mission without FMRS, aim at 200+ km orbit (2.5x KSRSS, YMMV depending on your planet mods), and switch to Gemini immediately after OV4-3 completed its circularization burn. Also, pay attention to notes below.) This truly historical flight was launched at 3 November, 1966 and was the first (and the only) launch performed under Manned Orbital Laboratory (MOL, aka KH-10 DORIAN) USAF program. It was a "proof of concept" flight, demonstrating launch configuration of planned MOLs and testing Gemini separation mechanism. There are RTGs for Nimbus 3.
  19. Fortunately, you hadn't. Because it DOES make it particularly more difficult for MJ users (like me). I'm all okay with reaistic throttling being optional, but not "BDB stock". Hopefully there will be no such nasty surprises in future updates!
  20. I also get one quite strange bug on 0.6.1 - sometimes KSC camera default position is not on KSC center, but slightly West of it. Otherwise, it functions correctly - you can move camera, click on buildings etc. Going to tracking station and\or switching locations does not fix it. Sometimes it can be fixed by relaunching the game, and sometimes it can't. I haven't figured out what causes this, so I simply live with it.
  21. I get the same problem with underground KSC - but for me, simply switching to tracking station and back fixes it. BTW, same thing happens on 0.6.1. I also got this Cape terrain bug, which it seems happen only at the Cape. Switching to other launch sites and back doesn't fix it. 2.5x config problem, maybe?
  22. Seeing Pappystein's absolutely amazing posts about Titan history, I've decided to make something too. So here's the first Titan IIIB launch.
  23. Juno II GCU. Unlocked at basic rocketry and can be toggled between 1.25 and 0.9375. As a nice bonus, it has built-in RCS, which makes it ideal for MandatoryRCS users.
  24. I think I've already said this, but: I hope that Waterfall support does not mean the end of RealPlume support. Personally, I don't like Waterfall at all, and I'd like to get RealPlume configs for all the new stuff.
