[cb_co] SVTOL F-35b Lightning {Upgrade Soon}
VR_Dev replied to VR_Dev's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Thanks a lot. That was actually the inspiration for the whole thing. As soon as I realized that looked exactly like the intake door I knew I had to build one. I just wish I could find a way to make stock engine doors -
[cb_co] VTOL f35 by clown_baby on Sketchfab ***Some parts are missing due to the limitations of the render*** Clown_baby CO. F-35 lightning. This is the SVTOL f35b version capable of vertical take off and landing. I won't lie it isn't the fastest cat on the block, but the basic engine is pretty underpowered these days. It's still incredibly fun to fly, and can maintain a very stable hover. I haven't figured out how to make the front engine doors yet, but hopefully those will come with further updates. I also plan to release the fully stock F-35a with no VTOL capabilities. Thanks for checking it out. HotKeys: 1) Horizontal Engine 2) Vertical Engine 3) Both Engines 4) Move Rear Engine Horizontal 5) Move Rear Engine Vertical 6) Extend "VTOL Intake" (Airbrake) 7) Retract "VTOL Intake" 8) Extend Flaps VTOL Transition 1) Move engine horizontal (hotkey 4) 2) Close Intake (hotkey 7) 3) As the craft pitches upward toggle vertical engine (hotkey 2) 4) The rear engine is limited at 75.5 thrust to maintain hover. Return the limit to 100% for full thrust MODS Required Infernal Robotics - Tweakscale is not required for this craft Download [cb_co] SVTOL F-35b Lightning - Remember to unlimit the rear engine to achieve full potential.

Yeah I know..., I get kind of ocd with my craft. Especially replicas. And rebuilding from scratch always makes it a little better. But that is version 2.2 so I've gone through at least 20 variations. I know its hard to tell but every time i post it it is significantly different. But it's done now so I'm either gonna build an f16, a shuttle, or rebuild my gundam. -

new wings -
My first couple attempts at escorting Colbumbia's jumbo jet. This is super hard to do. I thought the limit acceleration function of mechjeb would do the trick but for some reason it didn't keep them all at the same speed. Does anyone know a mod that you can set airspeed? I'll keep trying, eventually I want one right on each wingtip of the jumbo jet.

Working on escorting columbia's jumbo jets with two of my f22s. It's not easy. Eventually I want one on each wingtip. I understand why this things are such a pain in real life. There's so much to cram into such a tiny body. And the basic engine is so underpowered now I have to do everything I can to make it lighter. I need to use the basic engine instead of the turbojet so that it has the same thrust as the basic engine in the body. But does anyone know a mod that could equalize the thrust of the two different engines? Else I could just play with the thrust limiter of the turbojet and hope I can achieve VTOL that way -
Mobile Gundam Suits (MRK V kOS Footage)
VR_Dev replied to VR_Dev's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Gundam MRK IVc Alpha This is the Alpha release for my MRK IVc Gundam. The c variant is intended for use by the Air Force, and is built to be formidable in Air-to-Air Combat. This version is Alpha, and as you can see from the videos, works just fine, but is far from perfect. It relies heavily on SAS to control the craft while airborn, and since BD Autopilot doesn't use SAS, it can't control the craft. For the Beta version I am removing the SAS, and stripping the Gundam down and rebuilding it piece by piece ensuring the AI can pilot it after each piece. Right now the Autopilot can fly it, but it is missing vital components. Since this may take a while, I'm releasing this alpha version. Please remember it is far from finished. ***Tweakscale doesn't work in sketchfab*** [cb_co] Gundam IVc Alpha Model 4 by clown_baby on Sketchfab Required Mods: I suggest a fresh copy of KSP for Gundam at/Development. -Infernal Robotics & IR Rework. Yep IR. I don't know any stock tricks. And I honestly don't know what to do for the bottom engine doors. The thing is super dope though, and really fun to fly -
Thanks a bunch dude. Means a lot coming from you. I think it looks pretty good from every angle, but there's definitely room for improvement.
