I've been messing around with the new ARM stuff, so I launched a 27 ton base to Minmus. The rocket was very OP for this task, I ditched like half of the fuel, lol. I guess I could go as far as Laythe, or Duna/Eve at least. By the way, it's amazing how small number of struts you have to add now to ensure your rocket's structural integrity. Kerbol grand tour ships are not the privilege of Whackjobs anymore... Seriously, Mainsails are becoming the new ion engines.

[Showcase] 0.23.5 Lifter Designs
jmiki8 replied to ScottyDoesKnow's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
This rocket, which looks "tiny" compared to the ones here is my first 0.23.5 rocket. It delivered a 8 ton station core, and a full jumbo tank with a skipper engine to LKO. These parts are simply HUGE. -
Afai*, the 707 has 4 engines...

Nice! I'm unfamiliar with Paint.net, so I use mostly MS Paint. I made my first good-looking (well, it actually resembles a plane) isometric plane (still WIP): It's not a replica of anything, just a simple jet airliner that came out of my mind.

I may try this! I love your proof-of-concept, that VTOL with the four bars looks like a pig xD

Wow, not bad... Most of these life-threatening stuff happen on the roads... Just like the event I'll remember 'till my death. Some years ago we were going home via Salzburg, Austria from after spending our ski-holiday in Tyrol. We were going on the S10 motorway towards Salzburg. We didn't install the tire chains, as the temperature was fairly high those days (so I guess most people did the same). We encountered a heavy snowfall appearing suddenly from the nowhere. The snow on the autobahn became thicker and thicker in matter of minutes, making the asphalt very slippery. We had to reduce our speed to like 60 km/h. However, not every motorists obliged the law and safety measures, and continued to go as fast as 100-120 km/h. Suddenly, a line of stopped cars appeared in front of us (visibility was barely 50 metres that time). We could stop in time, but not everybody could avoid the accident. Some drivers tried to avoid crashing into the line by making sharp turns, resulting in bumping into the surrounding gouardrail. Some crashed into another car. These crashes ranged from minor scratches to movie-like accidents. A truck coming from behind could not stop, and broke through the guardrail, falling into the trench. (Its driver got out from the seat completely unharmed!) All of these events could be seen from the rearview mirror, and it was shocking. We were only saved from injuries and damage because there were two cars behind us, when the accident happened. Fortunately no people died in the accident (afaik), and my family and our car came out unscratched. Our 200 km journey from the ski resort to Salzburg took 10 hours.

Amazing! If you haven't mentioned the flaw, I wouldn't have noticed it (I used to play the piano for 6 years, but I'm completely dumb at guitars).

Wow, these parts are huge, and their ISP is fairly high! (I thought they would be very inefficient to compensate for their brute force)

Cantab is right. Just imagine a line, which contains infinite points. The line however doesn't contain all points from the space in its vicinity. So the line has infinite points, but not every points. I just wanted to say that infinity doesn't always mean "everything". There may be infinite types of solar systems in the universe, but they may exclude the "Kerbol System-like" system. Perfect english is perfect.

decouplers vs stack separators?
jmiki8 replied to federally's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
I use stack separators only for cluster bombs, and "clustered satellites", mentioned above. -
Cool! Though I expected a more spectacular impact... I guess the Armegeddon recreation is already on the way (even if there's a claw, and not a bomb)...

The Personal Reentry Vehicle Challenge
jmiki8 replied to MedwedianPresident's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
This is my entry, the "Anchor" (well, it looks like one). It's suitable for typical space stations orbiting up to 150 km (although the reentry vehicle may be capable of deorbiting from higher orbits). It seats 2 kerbals, and has only the minimal set of heat shields to protect them. It has an attachment point on its bottom part, where it can be connected to other vehicles via docking ports or decouplers (used in my test). I know there are better designs, I just wanted to show it. The test flight: *EDIT: The rocket had 4 side boosters. I just couldn't correct it, as I wasn't logged into Imgur. -
Rovers & atmoshperic vehicles (=planes)

Lol! Awesome! I laughed hard at the rover! Here are some I made:

I don't think if an astronaut-fight is likely. Even if space programs serve military purposes too (many astronauts came from the military, let alone Yuri Gagarin, who was a fighter pilot), the spacemen from different nations see each other as "co-workers", rather than rivals. Also, fighting on the ISS would be really dangerous, as they could damage the station itself and its life support systems as well. Maybe if the USA or Russia (or othern nuclear-capable state with space program) launched nukes on the other superpower, resulting in either's destruction, they may fight in their anger as revenge.

Mother of SSTOs! I've made an SSTO which can barely reach Duna, and this monster delivers a Jumbo tank to its surface! Amazing!

Awesome thread, with awesome pics!

Poor animals :'( Actually I think it's a bit funny... I'm evil I know... :/

Post your planes of any type here! [.23]
jmiki8 replied to burnoutforzai's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
My best plane design, an infiniglider (I call it the Skyhorse!) Comes with a catapult seat! -
Haha, I feel Edsay's pain! Jebediah has been staying on my first 0.23 station for 8 in-game years...
-
I'll test whether my station or the asteroid is the stronger.

It made me understand how stuff, like orbital manouvers work in space.

I have built a land vehicle:
