  1. Whatever the CM is attached to will be fully pilotable. Only the detached part that has the crewable piece will need MJ. There is a funny glitch that allows the modded crewable parts to act as CM\'s until they are detached from the mother ship.
  2. Yes, but it is a simple .cfg edit. There might be some still on the first page of the mod releases. Look up 'empty crew-able pods'.
  3. Yes, because RCS+SAS is so helpful when you are going ~23,000,000 m/s =P
  4. I landed on the Mun manually... it may have toppled over, and some parts exploded... but I landed without ASAS.
  5. I realize this, but the whole point of ASAS is to stabilize a craft, and in my case, it is doing the polar opposite of that.
  6. While I am happy that I have successfully gotten to the Mun with the new parts, I have had to land without the aid of ASAS, because when I go above a quarter throttle with ASAS on, my lander spins uncontrollably until I either turn ASAS off, or kill my thrust. I\'ll supply the .craft file if you guys want.
  7. True. I have recently attempted to turn the structural fuselage into a crew-able part, but the file that contains the hatch is the same that contains the 3D model of the craft. Unless somebody is able to open up those files, and edit them, we are limited to the current cockpit models as our crew-able pieces.
  8. I realize this, but why did one person stay in the orbiting stage in the actual Apollo missions?
  9. What was the purpose for having one man in the orbiting stage?
  10. Really? So the corona-sphere (or another part of the stellar atmosphere), has more dangerous effects than the heat in-terms of how close you can get to the star?
  11. What exactly do you mean by 'Apollo-style' anyways?
  12. Thanks for the video, but I have landed on the Mun by myself. It seems that you need more than the (now small) LFT to accomplish it. I had to use the half-sized new LFT to provide enough fuel.
  13. I make a rocket out of only big SRBs and got myself into a fairly elliptical orbit around Kerbol that brought be to about within 3.1 million KM of Kerbol at the periapsis. I know that Kerbol is an M class red-dwarf, but I don\'t know what sort of heat a person would expect to feel at 3.1 million KM. So my question is, (relative to human anatomy, and space suit insulation), should my Kerbal be dead, and what is the minimum safe distance that I should realistically orbit?
  14. Can\'t you use the Mk. 2 cockpits vertically?
  15. I wasn\'t annoyed... ugh, we need a way to state tones of voice in text. I\'m tired of people thinking I am talking in an annoyed/angry voice, when I would be saying in in a calm voice.
  16. 2010: The Year We Make Contact https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QLTRDH2YFqc Planetes (pardon the Spanish) is not a movie, but its space scenes only feature sound that would be heard inside a character\'s suit: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tD0gTG_RO8U#t=9m20s In Akira, Tetsuo\'s attack on the Sol defense satellite is entirely soundless until the mass reenters the atmosphere. SOL Defense Satellite Space in the movie Silent Running is silent as per the title, and so on... see the Exceptions section of that page. You know, haven\'t we already established the fact that the sounds will be changed/removed in the future, because these are just placeholders? Not to mention the fact that Squad has already implemented atmospheric sounds, so they know how sound and atmosphere are related. That, and Star Trek had sounds in space. Dragging this back on topic now... can you go through the middle of the arch in a craft without it exploding, because it would appear that Kerbals are 'killed' upon attempting to go underneath the arch.
  17. Already there lol. I tried doing the same thing.
  18. Look at the imgur link, it explains what it does. I just did it as well, it toggles the cheat screen that you see.
  19. My rockets first stage consists of 30 (6 columns of 5) of the largest fuel tanks, the second stage is 5 of those same tanks, and the landing stage has the half-sized version of those large tanks. It\'s a big rocket.
  20. While yes, engines don\'t work, you have full access to all the right-clickable parts.
  21. The air resistance has made it hard for me to maintain create a heading, hence why I made my own way of doing it.
  22. I found an ugly glitch with these. I detached one of these from a separate craft, when the mother craft crashed shorty afterward, and I hit ], I had to cycle through all the debris to get to the detached part.
  23. Right-clicking will give you statistics and options about: - Landing legs - Fuel tanks - Jet engines - Crew hatches Right-clicking will only give you information about: - Crew-able parts - EVApack
  24. No, you can\'t individually lower them, you can only lower them in the symmetric groups that they were placed with. Have you tried right-clicking on them to lower the legs?
  25. Am I the only person who doesn\'t orbit Kerbin as a way to get to the Mun?
