These parts really look great. Unfortunately, unless I'm missing something, they are really inefficient. MK2 Fuselage LFO weights the same as an FL-T800 tank (0.5t) but contains less fuel and is larger. Why? FL-T800 fits inside easily. I could edit the parts to correct this but update wise I'd prefer if you'd do this yourself. Still, thanks a lot for these great parts.

I solved it by disabling FOV markers. It's 2:50 here so I'll look at logs later.
-
I experience this too, only with he cockpit. I carefully tested it and when placing the cockpit in the editor the game starts to increasingly lag till it runs at about 0,5 fps. I have hardly any mods (the game takes up 2,8 GB ram).

The Official Kerbin Cup Tournament Thread - Final Entries Posted
theend3r replied to Rowsdower's topic in KSP1 Discussion
50 % at KSC is ok but forcing the teams to incorporate a 20s goal sound is stupid. Unless it's allowed to translate it into kerbal speech or/and play it sped up. < marquee>< /marquee> Or just click "reply with a quote" and see for yourself. -
How much fuel do you have floating above Kerbin?
theend3r replied to Tripzter's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Probably megatons. This is one of my largest refueling stations: -
It was a long time ago so I have no pics but I remember that my largest problem was killing horizontal velocity. I stopped at about 10m above surface trying to stabilize my craft to no avail, hovering around like crazy. Then I finally hit a mountain and rolled for many minutes before coming to a standstill.

Best energy alternatives to stop global warming

Sahara => dust storms => solar panels go boom = problem. They could be in some sort of glass containers I guess, but that'd be incredibly expensive. -
140 zł (45 USD) for a book about access 213 WTF!?
theend3r replied to Pawelk198604's topic in Science & Spaceflight
So he went around checking if you have his book and would kick you out otherwise? I thought knowledge about the subject is all that matters wherever from it comes. At least that's the case at my school. Some subjects I didn't even get the required books and just learned it all from the internet and some old books my father had. -
There are far more interesting paradoxes such as the one formulated by Bertrand Rusell: Consider a set of all sets that are not members of themselves. Is this set a member of itself? If it is, it isn't; and if it isn't, it is. Like Jouni said, "paradoxes" stem from language misuse or errors in the language itself.

$200 for a book Netbook maybe. Or if it was an original manuscript. Otherwise that's utterly ridiculous. -
Best energy alternatives to stop global warming

That's a terrible idea. As energy consumtion increases so does technology allowing for better energy sources. Those panels would become obsolete quite quickly and would still require maintenance. The cost would be great and so would be the energy loss during transfer. -

One of the pitfalls of democracy. Power rests in the hands of people not qualified to make such decisions. -
Best energy alternatives to stop global warming
theend3r replied to AngelLestat's topic in Science & Spaceflight
I'm not informed enough to argue against that. That aside, excuse my ignorance, but I've always wondered why highly radioactive waste isn't somehow utilized as an energy source too. It may not be capable of being used in contemporary reactors but I doubt the radioactivity isn't utilizable somehow. For example this: http://www.newscientist.com/article/dn13545-nanomaterial-turns-radiation-directly-into-electricity.html sounds quite promising. Just put it alongside radioactive waste and it stops being waste and becomes an energy source again. Also second paragraph of this: http://www.scientificamerican.com/article/smarter-use-of-nuclear-waste/ -

Let's hope it'll end better than their Yutu rover. -

Waste? So sure it produces some "waste" (that is actually fuel for more advanced reactors), but its quantity is miniscule. -
You mean you wouldn't have ownership rights to any of his property . Prove you are the original. There is a theory that all your cells except brain are completely replaced every 15 years. Maybe your ownership rights should be taken away from you since you are a different being than the one that acquired them. This question is indeed very difficult but in my opinion both of you would have the same ownership rights. A man with a dissociative identity disorder also doesn't have more "sets" of rights for each personality.

I think they did their research and know quite a bit more than us. Having said that, I also find the idea of a larger, independent drone more to my liking.
-
So you would just slap a plane on a rocket and send it Europa? It's written in the article that such a thing isn't very realistic due to its high cost.

Best energy alternatives to stop global warming
theend3r replied to AngelLestat's topic in Science & Spaceflight
I think this argument wins the thread. Fossil fuels are objectively bad for mass energy production, the rest is better but what combination to use depends on the environment. Norway? Water is great there. UK? Wind sounds good due to a lot of onshore sites where wind turbines can be built. Inland countries like Czech/Slovak republic? Nuclear. Tropical climates with mostly clear weather? Solar. The only question is what energy mix to use, but all have their place. That is, until we get fusion, antimatter or some other magical source. -

Who said those posts weren't my own? Seriously though, it's true and not offensive. -
I didn't read the article carefully and misunderstood *facepalm* RTGs aren't really small. Or light. They weight usually about 50kg and the proposed weight for the drone is <10kg.
-
That idea is very interesting. Recharging from mothership seems strange though. Why not just drop an RTG to the surface for the drone to recharge from?

Deal. And you'll construct and repair wind turbines in return which will, with high probability, kill you far sooner than us.
