What is the airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow?

Answer: Pretty dang fast, if you strap boosters onto it. After that, whether it's an African or a European swallow makes little difference. (I drained the boosters and activated infinite fuel), top speed, 750 m/s.

...Needs more struts, I say.

WolframAlpha says it's 11 m/s for a European swallow, however in that scenario it's primary source of propulsion is not rapidly combusting rocket fuel.

But what if it's carrying a coconut? Perhaps by gripping it's husk? What would it's airspeed be then? ;)

Zero. Not exactly directly related as a function of the coconut's weight, though.. You see, the coconuts weight makes the front go towards the ground, and thus the thrust as well..

I suppose you have to know those things if you're a king.

How do you know they are a king?

Was kind of hoping the this thread was going to degenerate into a python-fest.

I could degenerate the thread all by myself

/look at the violence inherent in the system

//What is your favourite colour?

///Listen, strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government. Supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses, not from some farcical aquatic ceremony.

I dunno. I made a bird in KSP once, and it couldn't carry anything! (Though it did look cool.)

The real question is, who can build me a shrubbery? (It has to be a nice one. Not too expensive.) If you don't build me one, I'll say "Ni!" many times, but if you do build one... well, you might just get some +Rep

It most obviously uses a KAS mod winch for a coconut.

Hehe :)

Oh dear.. that did not end well. Kerbally, perhaps, but not well ;)

Make me.

That can't be so bad..

"Ni!" "Ni Ni Ni NIIIIII!!!one!"

Augh, okay, you win! YOU WIN! You will get your shrubbery!

-2 hours, some character development, and a visit to the KSC later-

Well, I got one from Jebediah Kerman, it wasn't easy, I had to say, er, uh, the thing a few times, an- Wait, what? Are those boosters in the shrubbery? Jeb, yo- *EXPLOSIONS* (Editors note: Apparently the game didn't like the shrubbery I made, as it involved part clipping. Needless to say, the following album documents its destruction by the cruel hand of physics.)

edit: I'm bad at building for aesthetics anyways, whatever I made looked like an eyesore (or just a variation of "grey, everywhere"). Explosions are much more interesting.

That's not enough! (Especially since I didn't even see the thing before it met an untimely end.) MAKE ME ANOTHER ONE! And then chop a Mk3 fuselage in half... with a GRAVIOLI DETECTOR!

Wait a minute.

...Kerman, it wasn't...
...as it involved...

You said the word! NOooooo! Leave this place!

(I do want to see a picture of the shrubbery in the daytime though... )

Picture a giant metal egg. That was the old shrubbery. (Which I overwrote by accident, trying to make a better one, oops)

Lucky for us, we have a 100% more stable shrubbery (That still looks terrible, but at least it looks kind of like a shrubbery... almost) ...And less explosions!
